Not Gamescom-related, but there was a Nintendo Direct that showed off some indie/partner games on the 27th, and a CoD thing today (the 28th), if either of those were what you were thinking of?
Only other thing that comes to mind is maybe the Future Games Show, but that was last week (list of trailers here).
Gamescom isn’t like E3/SummerGamesFest in that there aren’t many different events in it. The opening night had all the annonucements and big showcases, the subsequent days were mostly people on-site recording new gameplay and interviewing the developers.
Even though I’ve had the soundtrack for the first game for a while and even recently bought it for the sequel, I never bothered to check what kind of game this is. Then I recently saw a video of shapez 2, and it looks really fun, so I gotta check it out sometime.
I love CDDA and played it loads on desktop, but I could never get into the Android version. The touchscreen controls are painful, but of course they kind of can’t be anything but painful. I think most people play with Bluetooth keyboards, but I figure that if I have to use a Bluetooth keyboard, I might as well just be playing it at my desktop. Still have CDDA installed on my phone anyway though.
I know you specifically asked for not this but its the only game i know that is a good rpg on mobile. You could play old school Runescape. Its essentially single player since there aren’t many parts of the game that require co operation. You will see other players walking around the world and talking but you can turn public chat off so you never need to see anything they say. The game is incredibly light on data usage since it was designed as a browser game in the 2000s.
I used to play that. It was pretty good. I just downloaded Diablo Immortal again. It’s hard to find something like it. Other games I like are Eternium and Anima.
It’s alright. It’s the only one of the newer AC games I’ve played so I don’t know how it compares, but exploring ancient egypt was neat and the combat was fun enough.
As with most Ubisoft games, I never finished it. The open world is very copy pasted and it gets repetitive ~15 hours in.
This is almost exactly my experience, but I stuck it out for more like 30 hours because I really dug that desert setting, which is criminally under used in games.
Also, does anyone remember the Animus Save Editor? Back when Ubisoft Connect was still called UPlay, there was a tab in the in-game overlay that allowed you to change a bunch of parameters of your save game, including disabling enemy leveling, making assassinations insta-kills on any enemy, adjusting DPS for your character as well as NPCs, etc. For some reason though, after Ubisoft rebranded UPlay, they removed the feature. I still have my modified save, but can’t make any further adjustments. It sucks because I was able to make the game feel much closer to the old AC games, and new players can’t.
