The game requires Google Play Services for the pedometer to work (the game uses the new Recording API to count your steps while the game is closed). On GrapheneOS I’ve heard it works if you run it in a sandbox. You don’t need a Google account for the Recording API to work, and according to the developer documentation data is stored locally.
If you can run sandboxed apps woth Google Play Services, it should work, but I’ve not heard from LineageOS users any experiences.
I thought I’d mention as it hasn’t been mentioned yet: the only way to install the game on Android is through Google Play. You also need to join a Google Group to get access on Google Play.
The Sonic Racing games are the best counterpart to Mario Kart available on PC. Sonic Racing Transformed is the best of the 3 games (and bundles the very first game) but sometimes gets confused when switching up controllers, so you must delete the config file, so maybe because of that not the best introduction to PC. Team Sonic Racing is a bit less good but that input bug is gone.
Growing up this bad boy was my family’s only gaming console: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81ZUxsuLBaL.jpgIt had Ms Pacman, Galaga, Mappy, Pole Position, Xevious… that might have been it? It was like you said, you just plug it into the video and audio jacks, it was all one thing.
Capcom released a comically ugly version of this a while back, shaped like a giant Capcom logo, with a very questionable selection of games. Only fighting games included were SF2 Hyper Fighting and Cyberbots. No Super Turbo, no Alpha, no 3rd Strike, no VSav...
The best game ever made is Baldur’s Gate 3, so that’s what I’d give if he hasn’t played it. IDC what kind of games he usually plays, that’s what I’d give.
I’ve been working my way through Half-Life Opposing Force. It is harder than the base game, but I do enjoy it. It has a lot of ideas like the squad mechanics that would be great to see reworked.
I played through all of Thimbleweed Park yesterday, fantastic time. Point and click adventure game with no real moon logic. Also, the art is fucking gorgeous
