Angelevo, do games w We could have lived in a world where Hideo Kojima made a Matrix game, if only someone had told him he was offered to make one

It is never too late to do the right thing!

I feel like this would be as batshit crazy as handing the beloved Dune series to a madman like Alejandro Jodorowsky.

Angelevo,

Have no idea who that is. However, what is the worst that could happen? Variation is interesting!

HeyJoe, do games w Nivalis catches yet another delay, this time into 2026, but it sounds like it's for fair reasons

First time seeing this, and it looks really good. Can’t wait to play it.

cerebralhawks, do games w Subscription models like Xbox Game Pass are "not properly valuing" developers, says former Bethesda exec

Former not current… Bethesda never saw a dollar they didn’t like.

Delist thousands of games, or deslist a handful of payment middle-men?

catalyst, do games w After 18 years, a surprise Half-Life 2 update makes it once again possible to beat a honking train on Highway 17
@catalyst@lemmy.world avatar

Wow! I somehow never knew this bug existed. I guess it’s been a long time since I played this one. 😅

Now, how about fixing game-breaking bugs on the Switch version of Portal 2?

nfreak,
@nfreak@lemmy.ml avatar

I didn’t even know there was a switch version

catalyst,
@catalyst@lemmy.world avatar

There is indeed! My kid played it on the switch and loved it. Well, right up to the point where they couldn’t proceed due to a level being completely broken. They ended up having to finish the last few stages on my PC instead.

gordon no longer has to wait at the rail crossing

yournamehere, do games w You can now search for Steam games by adjustable difficulty, mouse-only options and other accessibility tags

yes. but there are barely any splitscreen games

MyNameIsAtticus,
@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

I’d kill for more modern splitscreen games, especially on PC

yournamehere,

mind naming your top3 splitscreen games atm?

MyNameIsAtticus,
@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t have many on PC, but basically any TT Lego Game comes to mind, along with Sackboy a Big Adventure and The Escapist 2. That’s like a decent 75% of my splitscreen PC library though lol

yournamehere,

hm. splitscreen seems to have peaked ages ago unfortunately. have you tried Blur Racing (archive.org)? that’s what i call prime splitscreen gaming. also borderlands3 on console is mentionworthy.

MyNameIsAtticus,
@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

I think borderlands 3 is the only one borderlands I haven’t played at some point lol. I’ll have to pick it up at some point

yournamehere,

bet it’ll be free with br4 bundles this autumn.

Escew,

Project Zomboid is my favorite split screen game. Not split screen but shared-screen-coop and tons of fun: Wild Woods, Speedrunners, Demons Crystals, unrailed. I’ll add more if I can think of them. These all have fantastic controller support.

winkerjadams,

nucleus-coop.github.io

I used this to play Minecraft with my girlfriend on my PC and it works alright. I do use it with 2 screens though. There’s other games too but I haven’t tried any.

But yes I do agree there is a severe lack of splitscreens nowadays especially with the hardware we have available now compared to what we used to.

MyNameIsAtticus,
@MyNameIsAtticus@lemmy.world avatar

I briefly looked at it and the coverage of games is crazy. I think I even saw the Skyrim multiplayer mod

victorz, do games w Same-date PC ports of PS5 games remain unlikely, as Sony talk up "thoughtful" multiplatform approach despite Xbox comparisons

One hell of a title there, lol. Have to read the article to understand that one I guess. 🤪

Vodulas, do gaming w Skyrim-style open world RPG Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon releases out of early access today

The leveling curve on this game is pretty rough, making it tough early on, but damn if it ain’t a great first person RPG.

SweetCitrusBuzz, do gaming w New Square Enix policy will clamp down on harassers, bigots and "unreasonable" compensation requests
@SweetCitrusBuzz@beehaw.org avatar

In my naïve hopes I hoped this could be from stopping harrasment within Square Enix and its development partners, but alas no. It is stopping fans from harrasing, which is good but really they should turn that policy inwards as well.

Ignatz, do gaming w You’ve probably played 2005’s most experimental horror game: Designed as pranks, early internet "screamers" were pioneers

archive.org/details/scary-maze-gamewinterrowd

I remember playing this back in the day. I just replayed it, and even though I knew exactly where it was going to pop up, it still startled the s*** out of me, lol.

Denjin, do games w Ancient Chinese RPG The Bustling World is, in fact, all of the genres, from city builder to life sim

I’ve had it wishlisted for a while because the trailers and screenshots look fantastic. Unsure if the sprawling scope will result in anything ever playable.

My hope is for something akin to a Mount & Blade style RPG but who knows of it’ll ever see the light of day.

DoucheBagMcSwag, (edited ) do games w Gar-Type is a free pixelart shooter based on a cosmic horror meme about a lazy, ravenous housecat

Pika, do games w Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024's launch has been marred by long load times, server issues and now it has overwhelmingly negative reviews
@Pika@sh.itjust.works avatar

After the cluster fuck that was their previous release on top of the mass amount of actual DLC so I can’t just buy the game and run with it, there was no way in hell I would buy this game.

The last flight Sim game that I had was flight simulator x, and honestly even that one if I hadn’t got it as a gift I probably wouldn’t have purchased because even that, the amount of DLC that it had was outrageous, I was lucky enough that I got it on disc so I’m not bombarded with them all the time, but I had looked at the steam page because I was curious about it and man was I in for a shock.

I wish I still had all the discs to my flight simulator 2004, it did basically the same exact thing that X did, and arguably was better than the previous iteration of flight simulator without all of the stupid paywalls. I just threw the disc in and it ran, didn’t have to wait days for it to download, it didn’t monopolize part of my drive and it didn’t need a NASA supercomputer plus Internet to run
