Yeah I have a version of Madden from 2015 that works perfectly fine and seems to be more or less the same game, have been very happy with it. I refuse to pay $70 for a game that I know is riddled with microtransactions for really… nothing else changing
I am curious as to why you say the game riddled with microtransactions? The only microtransactions I have ever seen is the card pack shit and that is incredibly easy to not pay for by just playing the other 95% of gameplay features they offer in the game that are completely free of microtransactions.
As I am quite inconsistent at aiming well and reacting to stuff quickly, I like shooters that don’t put a lot of emphasis on it and/or offer viable alternatives for the days I’m not in the groove. Overwatch and Gunfire Reborn both fall into this category for me, despite being different subgenres (competitive multiplayer and roguelite with coop options respectively).
Also, I enjoy puzzle games in all forms, so that includes first person puzzles like Portal games, The Talos Principle or The Turing Test
I pirate movies because I think digital access to them is overpriced, goes to the copyright holder instead of the creators, it’s convenient and most importantly because I can.
I can’t pirate going to the cinema, nor can I afford to build my own, therefore I gladly pay to have a seat and enjoy a movie there.
Edit: I thought this may be relevant to the movies example I gave. I don’t think movie studios, giving nothing back to society after massive profits are the ones we should debate the morals of stealing with.
I’ve only played a few games so far so I haven’t had any issues with other players. Is there really no Betrayal booting? I’ve run into that so many times in MCC Multiplayer it feels like it should be essential at this point
Absolutely no player moderation infrastructure whatsoever. It’s as if they never made a halo game before.
I recall some streamer lady getting relentlessly harrassed via lobby voice chat at the beginning of infinite’s life cycle. Zero recourse; there’s no in-game reporting function (the game directs you to the halo waypoint website, it’s a fully manual process, you supply the offending player’s name, you’re even expected to manually capture infractions via the (still) broken in-game theatre mode).
As for betrayal booting, I have a kind of roundabout theory. 343 in their infinite wisdom decided to disable player collision and friendly fire in the sandbox by default.
On one hand, this is behaviour in-line with contemporary shooters to prevent griefing. On the other hand, it’s entirely detrimental to sandbox immersion and can lead to bad habits when it comes to player positioning.
I suspect this change lead to the oversight of any player booting mechanism, though it’s still possible to team-kill via vehicle collisions.
