rockerface,

I think they might have interpreted “Hades 2” as 2 times Hades 1. Which I very much appreciate

rockerface,

Yep, only buying games after they go on discount couple months after release. By that time, the game is usually also finished

rockerface,

Could be 20 years, for all I care. Let them cook. It’s done when it’s done.

Perfect Dark Reboot Is Allegedly In Bad Shape (www.gamespot.com) angielski

I don’t think big companies know how to make a good FPS campaign anymore, let alone hone in on classic deathmatch multiplayer. The last FPS I bought was Half-Life: Alyx four years ago, and the first one to come along and interest me since then was Phantom Fury, but I’m letting that one iron out bugs for a few weeks before I...

rockerface,

Idk, my favourite writer is Brandon Sanderson and he still keeps writing with the supersonic speed. Maybe that’s just you. Unless you mean writing in games and movies specifically, for which I am not qualified enough to say

rockerface,

Nah, I’d rather they keep speaking like this. Makes it really obvious from the get go who I’m dealing with. If they speak normally, they might blend in

rockerface,

Also, very glad to see the edition and rarity tags to also make the corresponding joker free. Before, it wasn’t worth it 90% of the time since you needed a surplus of money first. Now, they can work as a potential run starter

rockerface,

yooo mobile port of Balatro would be dope. I’ve tried mobile version of Slay the Spire and it’s perfect for killing time when I don’t have access to my PC

rockerface,

The addiction is real

rockerface,

Dead Cells

Terraria

Hollow Knight

Risk of Rain (both 1 and 2)

Hades

Factorio

Balatro (my newest addiction)

rockerface,

I’m too dumb for StS, Balatro hits that sweet spot in difficulty for me

rockerface,

Supergiant might not be 3 dudes in an apartment, but it’s still an indie studio. They do put an impressive amount of effort into their games though, I agree on that

The Feds Are Coming for “Extremist” Gamers (theintercept.com) angielski

Gaming companies are coordinating with the FBI and Department of Homeland Security to root out so-called domestic violent extremist content, according to a new government report. Noting that mechanisms have been established with social media companies to police extremism, the report recommends that the national security agencies...

rockerface,

If your jokes look that bad out of context, you might need better jokes

rockerface,

…you do need to get better jokes

rockerface,

Also in the same genre and also fantasy/samurai themed, Sekiro. Not sure about historical accuracy, but you will enjoy the gameplay or die trying. Or both, those aren’t mutually exclusive

rockerface,

It’s almost like you’re allowed to not replay single player games after you’ve done what you wanted in the game

rockerface,

Weren’t your feelings positive, though? You did a full playthrough, and you got all achievements - especially considering that’s not something you do usually. I’ve basically done the same, but I don’t consider it a bad thing to not be as interested in the game I’ve already played. And you can use one of your existing saves to do the DLC, considering it will probably be more difficult than the base game, so having a fully geared up build will help

rockerface,

Fooling my short attention span by alternating Talos Principle 2, Valheim, Genshin Impact and (when I can find friends to play with) Overwatch

rockerface,

Valheim and Talos Principle 2, alternating

What are some hidden indie gems nobody knows about? angielski

Which indies did you discover and would love more people to know about? I’ll start: The Pale Beyond. Not sure if it’s a hidden gem tbh, but it’s such a good story rich game. I laughed, I cried and felt the characters struggles. If you like story rich games/ choices matter, check it out.

rockerface, (edited )

Iconoclasts - really nicely made metroidvania with pixel graphics

Tametsi - a collection of handmade Minesweeper puzzles with additional twists and mechanics. Extremely cheap on Steam

Gunfire Reborn - roguelite FPS with Borderland-ish graphics, decently made 4 man co-op (unlike Risk of Rain 2, you can actually revive teammates that got knocked down immediately) and a lot of difficulty scaling. Notably, still gets new content, both free and paid DLCs (those add new classes and some new weapons)

Edited to add another: Opus Magnum - an automation/optimization puzzle game with alchemy theme. Supports user-created puzzles through Steam Workshop

rockerface,

Ah, Factoriolikes, as I call them usually

rockerface,

Valheim when solo, Deep Rock Galactic when with friends. 10/10 I didn’t need all that free time anyway

rockerface,

The one I’ve sunk the most hours in gotta be Overwatch. The one that sucked me in the quickest is Valheim

rockerface,

Is this the same Capcom that published Devil May Cry games? I’m not sure they need modding to be offending public order and morals

rockerface,

yeah, that checks out

rockerface,

Rotating between God of War, Overwatch, Genshin Impact and a second playthrough of Elden Ring (now with a big stick)

rockerface,

As a developer (not of games, but still), I would actually be interested in a tool that can generate simple code snippets for me to correct and assemble into a more complex system. But yeah, as you said, there will be growing pains as everyone figures out the optimal use cases for AI in development

rockerface,

Together we can stop this

rockerface,

Ideally, yeah, AI should be used to automate boring grunt work and enable more people to engage in something creative. Maybe those jobs in the future can transform into something like managing AI’s output and fixing unique edge cases, where human input is still required.

rockerface,

Even if the dream isn’t going to be realized fully, it’s still useful to have a direction to move in

rockerface,

I die of heart attack, bleeding, poison and disease simultaneously near the entrance to the Darkest Dungeon

rockerface,

Oh boy, I better hurry up and finish Road to Gehenna before the release

The Weekly 'What are you playing?' Discussion - 02-10-2023 (lemmy.world) angielski

Have you been spending hours trying to pass a level? Or maybe you are completely addicted to a newly bought game. Do you have a question about a game or would like to share something else? In the Weekly Discussion Thread, you can do it all!...

rockerface, (edited )

Torn between continuing my Zenith playthrough of Terraria and learning more Oxygen Not Included. I probably shouldn’t have started both of those at the same time

Edit: So it turned out that what my brain wanted was to come back to Darkest Dungeon and try to actually beat it

rockerface,

Indie games are a breath of fresh air in this day and age

rockerface,

Yeah, right now it’s more about sending a message and oh boi did they send one

whats your unconcious sign that you really really like the game you are playing angielski

So i just noticed that when i really like the game at some point i will at once play the game and watch the stream/youtube wideo of the game( usualy speedrun or aome hardcore challenge). I noticed it recently with anno 1800 but now that i think about it i did that with tales of arise, eu4 ,kings bounty, total war, hades and...

rockerface,

I love that last line.

“We have never made a public statement before. This is how badly you fucked up.”

rockerface,

Finally, we can have Bloodborne on PC

rockerface,

Apparently, you did forget what piece of crap company that was lmao

rockerface,

I have played Slay the Spire on mobile and it’s pretty well made

rockerface,

As I am quite inconsistent at aiming well and reacting to stuff quickly, I like shooters that don’t put a lot of emphasis on it and/or offer viable alternatives for the days I’m not in the groove. Overwatch and Gunfire Reborn both fall into this category for me, despite being different subgenres (competitive multiplayer and roguelite with coop options respectively).

Also, I enjoy puzzle games in all forms, so that includes first person puzzles like Portal games, The Talos Principle or The Turing Test
