Periodically I do a “spending freeze” on games and force myself to look at my backlog. I’m in one right now, Monster Hunter World is rocking my socks off

I guy was looking through my installed games and was outraged that I had never played a few of them. I was glad he didn’t look at the full library.

Well now that I know I’m not alone I can feel more confident when the next great buy comes out.

It doesn’t help that I go back and replay games that I’ve already beaten instead of trying out the new ones in my backlog.

grrgyle,

Nothing wrong with just enjoying yourself.

Amazing game, especially in multiplayer. It’s one of my most played games in online game sessions with family and friends.

I’d love to get Server setup for my close friend group but I only have 1 friend who would play it regularly, and only 5 of them even own it. So that probably won’t be happening anytime soon.

xapr,

Sorry to hear. By the way, you don’t even need to set up a server. Anyone can host within the game itself, so it can be a spur of the moment thing. Of the ones who own it, have any of them tried playing it, especially multiplayer? What the game lacks in terms of advanced graphics it more than makes up with gameplay, atmosphere, and depth. Good luck!

Oh yeah. I just meant like a larger scale 24/7 server. Something where I can see it grow when I’m not there

xapr,

Oh, for sure. My friend ended up setting up a permanent server. It’s pretty cool because anyone of us can jump in and play at any time. Although anytime someone does it starts the clock ticking forward, which leads to consequences, as I’m sure you’re aware.

Played this years ago but couldn’t quite get into it. Maybe I should try it again to see if it clicks

It’s much better with friends imo. Me and the friend in this picture went to pick up a generator from an airstrip and it was forecast to snow. I crashed the car. So we were racing while dragging the generator for miles to get back to our base before it started snowing.

Rough translation, but here it was “Ordinary Nintendo”, as opposed to the Super Nintendo

dandu3,

Yep, Nintendo ordinaire. Lol

Who remembers Number Munchers?

Best math game EVER!

Grangle1,

That and Math Blaster. Good times.

“Normal Nintendo” is what we call it.

In the UK and Ireland, we call the SNES “the Snez”, but I’ve never heard it said that way in the States. Is that peculiar to this part of the world?

The_Picard_Maneuver,

Most of the time I hear S N E S (each letter pronounced individually) or Super Nintendo.

I have heard “the Snes” (pronounced with an S sound instead of a Z), but I didn’t hear that commonly until much later, after it was considered a retro console.

dillydogg,

I live in the US and me and all my friends pronounce SNES as SNess. (And NES as Ness) for what it is worth. It seems to be somewhat common as my friends who grew up on the other side of the country say it this way too.

Dicska, do gaming w NES

In my language we just called it small Nintendo.

Evil_Shrubbery, do gaming w NES

I … dont think I ever realised they called it Ness and not Nes.

BreadstickNinja,

Ness was first introduced on the Super Famicom. Though he only really got popular when Super Smash Bros came out on the NES64.
