Such a shame more games don’t use this. It worked for PSO because fights were relatively drawn out/telegraphed, so there was always a chance to build up/slow down the music.
I wonder if AI could get used to dynamically generate a transition between battle/overworld themes. Or at least, if the composer makes one and use AI to make all necessary versions.
I can only do a round or two before the particle effects hurt my eyes too much to continue. The new Among US DLC is really bad for that because you can get so many so early, and then extend for over an hour past the thirty minute mark. (That’s about when I got bored and tried to do everything I could so the red deaths would kill me, so I don’t know how long it would have gone).
BG3 with my GF. After almost 200h we are closing the wrapping out first play through.
Alone I recently started Nier Replicant after having played Automata last year. Different feel to it and the quests are fairly basic atm (go here, do that) but I owe it to the developers to play it.
How has the coop experience been? We have been thinking about buying it and play it together too. Just gotta figure out the best setup for us first. Thinking about streaming the game from my PC to our Nvidia Shield Pro, then have two PS5 Controllers connected to the TV.
Would be interested in hearing about what setup you went for :-)
We play it on my pc which is wired directly to the tv. We use 2 XBOX controllers but PS4 ones will work just as well.
You will probably want to have a pretty big screen because it’s almost always split screen (except in some dialogues if that other player listens to the convo). However you can always set the fonts to a bigger size which is super helpful.
Unfortunately it’s not like DOS 2 where the split screen merges when you are close together but that’s not the end of the world. The game has turn based combat so even if you have some streaming delays it’s not a big deal.
Your frame rate will drop a bit on Act 3 but it gets better with every patch.
The meme makes it seem like it was a dumb gimmick for 9 year olds. I still think it's one of the coolest things ever. I wish i would've appreciated more at the time, but i was busy mashing buttons instead of reading dialogues.
The game made you think there was something wrong with your game or TV by showing fake effects. Some of them aren’t really relatable anymore due to their age, but the top comment shows you all the timestamps and what the effect was.
The game actively messed with you. About 1/2 through it would pause and throw up a “Thank you for playing the demo! Look for the full game coming soon!” That sort of thing.
Dark Souls 3. Well I say Dark Souls 3. Reality is its Sister Friede. Over and over and over again. Stage 3 is easy to get to. But she kicks my ass in stage 3.
My friends have been getting back into Monster Hunter World recently, so I decided to pick it up as well. I stopped in High Rank when I first played it, and hit Master Rank over the weekend. I’m looking forward to smacking bigger monsters with bagpipes.
I‘m actually gonna pick it up again with a friend soon! We wanna try and platinum the thing, we‘ll see how that goes. I‘ve no idea where I am, I‘m in the DLC, that‘s all I remember.
It was BG3 still with Palworld, but enough of my friends started playing and we made a dedicated private server. It’s now consuming me. I’m sure the obsession with subside in a bit, but right now it’s just dumb fun. Currently riding around on a panda mount duel weilding rocket launches and just laying everything to waste.
