I love this game, except for the stealth… And survival… And being actively hunted skynet style… Ok I would love this game more if I liked those game aspects in the first place. But I still love it for the concept, design, and the whole general vibe of the game. What a great concept and game, i’m just not the target audience.
That’s exactly how I feel. I love this game, but I hate survival games where you have to work just to stay alive, more or less avoid enemies. Suffice to say, I play this on the easiest mode, so I don’t have to think too hard about the survival aspect.
Thanks! I was working on cleaning up achievements for Alan Wake 1 al say, so Alan Wake 2 will have to wait for a little bit longer, but i’m excited to pick it up again!
Oh, I love this game! Really short and easy, and the narrator is fantastic. But I might be a little bias, since Dagon is my favorite in the Cthulhu Mythos, haha.
c/games mod here. Yeah, we wish for our community to be more about discussing about games themselves than memeing in order to avoid meme drowning other content.
Meme are funny, I don’t personally mind them, but once you allow too much of them, you end up becoming a meme community.
Maybe we should create, if it doesn’t exist, a “gamesmeme” or similar to offload if it tend to overwhelm c/gaming too, or create a dedicated day to meme out (aka “meme monday”).
So glad I got the indecisive spending guilt disfunction instead of the insecure hoarding disfunction. /s
I also feel bad knowing I’ve got games I don’t love in my “library.” I need it to be as tight a list as possible, so I anguish over each and every one.
I know I can “hide” the games, but God still sees them.
Yeah, the game was made in 2010. That kind of detail wasn’t really possible. It has been remastered, but—and I’m not a person who would know—I don’t think that involves redesigning the world as much as scaling up the graphics
The world definitely shows its age with its game. Not that it’s a bad thing. Just kind of an observation.
A similar thing I noticed was the video files. I noticed they were blurry and blocky and then it occurred to me that the reason why was disc space limitations. That’s another thing that would rocket up the File Size.
I hope you enjoy your play through of AW. It’s one of my favorite games of all time!
Yay, borderlands! I think it’s been my favourite franchise for a solid decade now and Borderlands 2 certainly swallowed a huge portion of my life and honestly still does to some degree.
The series has had some gems and some less than great content but the gameplay loop has always been very satisfying!
Hopefully one day I’ll be able to get to 2. Pre sequel I only play with my friend and it takes backseat a lot. Maybe after my Alan Wake 1-2 play through I’ll buckle down and play through Pre-Sequel with him
In total time I don’t think I can get a solid answer because this isn’t my first play through on PC so the time is a bit muddled but if I had to guess maybe about 20 Hours considering Nightmare mode and going out of my way to get all the collectibles?
The DLCs are included in the PC and remaster too I think, so they are only DLC for the Xbox version which is why you may not have heard of them. They’re called Specials in the Game
Hey, just wanted to say that I really have become accustomed to seeing your daily game pics. I don’t know if you have been told this enough but good on you for sticking to it. Looking forward to seeing another one tomorrow ;)
She just wants bookstore credit lol. Bookstore credit is like the most selfish/unselfish thing ever. Like people are reading, but you’re getting free books lol. I’ve learned to just keep my mouth shut about it unless she says something about my video games. If the boss is happy, I get to be happy
I am married. My wife is concerned because I enjoy and own an unreasonable quantity of video games and books; and we have a toddler with a growing interest in both as well.
My wife says that our next house won’t have a library, it will just be built from books.
On the plus side, one of my favorite authors - Terry Pratchett - once said “I wouldn’t want to be friends with someone who has enough room for all of their books.” I would have liked to be friends with him.

That’s beautiful. Also the quote makes me feel a lot better about all the books strewn about the house. Makes it seem more normal, or acceptable. Kind of flips it around to a good thing.
