Ultrakill and Turbo Overkill have been on my wishlists. Excellent.

Yeah mine too, glad I didn’t pull the trigger during the Steam sale

stardust,

Too late for a refund?

Typo in the last message, I didn’t pull the trigger.

Pretty good bundle. Prodeus and Ultrakill make it worth it if you don’t already own those two.

Having not played any of them, and not being a game snob, I’d give all but Mortal Combat a go (fighting games aren’t my jam)!

apotheotic, (edited ) do gaming w [Humble Bundle] WB 100: Play the Legends

Outside of Arkham and Shadow of War, this bundle is hot garbage lmao. 100 years of WB legends and this is what they settle on

Edit:

I should have been clearer in my initial phrasing. The value for money of the bundle is awesome - even if all you care about is arkham and mordor. If you’re a fighting game enjoyer then you’re eating well.

It’s just a bit of a shocker that this bundle is the bundle that represents “100 years of WB heroes and legends”

It’s a bit more like “which WB games have been released somewhat recently that were somewhat well recieved” (which is totally fair for a bundle of this price, its the title I take issue with)

ampersandrew,
@ampersandrew@kbin.social avatar

Two Mortal Kombat games, Injustice 2, Mad Max, Mordor games...that's a lot for $10-$15. It's a great deal if you only wanted two games in the bundle. They probably ought to have put Injustice 1 in there, but what can you do?

Oh, I see. WB also refuses to make games that don't have to do with their movie properties, with few exceptions. And since they've entered the gaming industry, some of their other notable games have been live services like Infinite Crisis and Gotham City Imposters that have since shut down.

scops,

I’ve played everything in the bundle outside of Gotham Knights. I get it if you don’t like fighting games, but I had fun with every one of them (besides GK, as mentioned). They are all solid games, even Mad Max.

In other words… that’s just, like, your opinion, person.

Play the “legends”, lol

knokelmaat,

The early Arkham games are quite unique and important games I feel.

ezures,

Ok, I was quick to judge, my bad.

Even then, I feel that most of these are mediocre, even with the Arkham games.

Its worth the price, Arkham, Madmax, shadow of mordor are great games

GammaGames,

Dev Game Club did a few episodes on Asylum recently, I agree!

Deconceptualist,

Yo, you like story-based 3rd person action brawlers with strong characters and unlockable abilities? Well here try this top-down turn-based strategy series where you can micro-manage a randomized set of city-states in a campaign that spans millennia.

verysoft, (edited )

Exactly! It's the perfect genre transition, there's no better time to get stuck into 4X and some of them juicy Sid Meier classics!

Deconceptualist,

It’s the perfect genre transition

You like Tetris? Try Forza! Another perfect genre transition by that logic.

I’d get Shadow of War, but after the shitshow that was Hogwarts Legacy, WB won’t get a single red cent from me. I still haven’t finished that fucking game because of graphical issues, numerous bugs/glitches I found and reported AND still haven’t been fixed, and a 65% corrupted game save file (that was the icing on the cake). It literally ruined the lore and magic of HP for me.

That being said: Shadow of Mordor was amazing. The Nemesis system is such a beautiful thing, it’s a shame they literally copyrighted it so that other devs (and probably other titles) couldn’t use it. I wish I was making this shit up.

ashok36,

You can literally set the split between Warner Bros, the charity, and Humble Bundle to whatever you want.

You can absolutely buy the $15 tier, get all the games, send $0 to WB, $12.75 to charity, and $2.25 to Humble (the minimum to cover processing and costs I guess).

WB probably gets to write off the money as donations to charity but forcing WB to give money to charity, regardless of tax implications, sounds like a win-win to me.

Nacktmull, do games w Humble Bundle - WB 100: Play the Legends

This reminds me of how I used to buy most humble bundles until they switched to that stupid subscription model that will make you pay without knowing what games you will get for your money.

Dioz,

Aren’t those two separate things though? There’s humble choice, which is basically what you describe, although you can just subscribe for a month if you’re interested in the games and then immediately cancel your subscription. There’s also a handful of regular bundles at any given time that are not linked to any subscription at all

Nacktmull,

That is true. However, my impression was that they started putting most of the good games into the subscription bundles, which makes sense from their perspective, simply to make more people subscribe. So while people could still choose between subscription and non subscription based payment models, Humble systematically decreased the quality and thus attractiveness of the non subscription based bundles more and more, while the great disadvantage of the subscription bundles (not knowing in advance what games you will get) remained.

explodIng_lIme,

You’ll occasionally get bundles before a new game or dlc releases. Those are generally pretty filled with content if you don’t already own some or most of it. For example Cities Skylines had a bundle with the first game and most of the dlc before 2 launched. It’s worth it to keep an eye on the homepage to pick up deals like that

Nacktmull,

Interesting, thanks for the info.

PoopMonster,

I just use privacy and have my card paused until I see something worthwhile.

GreenAlex,
@GreenAlex@kbin.social avatar

Humble Choice isn't unknown, or at least hasn't been for a long time. I'm subscribed but they also give the option to skip as many months as you want, which I unfortunately take advantage of like 75% of the time.

Nacktmull,

Well, maybe I am not up to date on this. Are you saying you can see in advance what games will be in a subscription bundle and also that you can skip as many bundles as you want?

OutlierBlue,

Yes, that’s exactly it. They changed the format a while ago. You get to see the entire bundle before you buy it, and can skip months as long as you want. I buy maybe 2 or 3 bundles a year and skip all the rest.

Nacktmull,

Alright, thank you for the update. Not knowing what I am paying for was always my biggest point of critique, so I might look into Humble once again.

grayhaze,
@grayhaze@lemmy.world avatar

If you’re not making extensive use of your Humble Choice discount in the store, you might want to consider canceling each month that you don’t like the games instead. I cancel every month regardless, then throughout the month I get emails offering increasing discounts on the current month’s bundle, until I eventually get an offer for one month for £4.50 a couple of days before the current bundle ends. It’s resulted in me getting twice as many games for less than half the normal monthly price.

Nacktmull,

Very interesting, I will consider doing the same.

Phanatik,

It's changed. You can see what games are in the Choice bundle before you pay for them. They make them visible as soon as the previous month's bundle ends.

ashok36,

that stupid subscription model that will make you pay without knowing what games you will get for your money.

You’re showing your ignorance here. They announce the monthly bundle at the beginning of the month and you have the entire month to ‘pause’ your membership for that month. If you pause you remain a subscriber but you don’t pay for that month and you don’t get the games for that month.

I can’t believe this was upvoted.

How is Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands? I liked the first two Borderlands games but I lost interest after that.

3migo,
@3migo@lemmy.world avatar

TTW is amazing. I am a big fan of the borderlands series but found 3 to be a bit disappointing, but I had a blast with TTW.

CancerMancer,

Ok that’s what I was hoping to hear, I also found Borderlands 3 was missing the magic. Thanks!

JackDark, (edited )

To offer a different opinion, I didn’t like Wonderlands. B1 and B2 were fantastic, but nothing else has come close IMO.

On a different note, The Forgotten City is AMAZING if you’re into time loop or puzzle games.

Schadrach,

The best answer I could give to that is if you liked the Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC for BL2, you’ll probably like Wonderlands. If not, you won’t. It’s basically the same concept fleshed out and expanded into an entire game.

On a different note, The Forgotten City is AMAZING if you’re into time loop or puzzle games.

YES. The Forgotten City is fantastic, a dramatic improvement upon the Skyrim mod it started life as.

JackDark,

I loved TTAODK, but didn’t like Wonderlands. Different strokes. 🤷‍♂️

ReadyUser31,

If you like Borderlands you should play it. It’s got more charm than 3, and the engine is about as good.

So overall I still think 2 is the best game, but TTW is definitely worth playing.

bionicjoey,

BL2 is one of my all time top games.

I hated BL3 and TPS.

Tiny Tina’s is good.

So is The Telltale game incase you somehow missed it.

Can anyone recommend any of those?

swiffswaffplop,

Evil Genius 2 is really fun

FracturedEel,

I played on ps plus and definitely got addicted for a hot minute. Reminded me of rimworld a bit bit obviously different

I've never heard of that one, but I personally enjoyed The Outer Worlds, but got it in the recent Humble Monthly. Was hoping for Outer Wilds when I first saw the listing.
