Because I’m bad at pvp but still find it fun at times, I tend to pick classes and abilities in the vein of traps, status effects and dots. I know i can’t beat them, so instead i try to annoy them.
This is my go to. For a brief period of time I dominated in this free to play game called Loadout because the meta was for each player to dodge roll in a circle why trying to recover and spam automatic or sniper at the other before rolling again. Instead of all that I loaded in with a proximity mine bazooka and just shot my own feet every time I came out of a roll. They’d roll into the bombs trying to dodge me and I wasn’t trying to shoot them so I could dodge faster. Honestly the game was amazing, just too bad all the characters looked like a sexed up Dr nefario from dispicable me…
The only one I have any experience with is Atomic Heart, and man, I don’t know if it gets better later, but I played the demo and it was like an hour or more before I got to do anything but talk, I think? And the dialogue was both painfully bad (maybe a poor translation to English?) and delivered by people who sounded like they’d rather be anywhere else.
I have enjoyed the hell out of Riders Republic. One big issue is that it is cram packed with cosmetics, DLC and “live-service” features. If you’re able to ignore that noise there is a lot of game to love underneath. Of course you can’t really own it, since it’s live-service, but I still feel I got well more than $40 of fun out of it
Raccoin is a coin pusher rougelike. I thought the game was out in early access or it had a demo, but it turns out they just did a play test for August. Hope it gets the full release soon, it was pretty fun
