Typically I prefer normal, but there are some games where inverted camera just makes it easier, like games with full 3D exploration (flying/swimming). I do sometimes only invert the vertical for these, so I’m that maniac.
If you are an older gamer, you’re probably right that you picked it up in the early camera control games (ps1/2 for me), because changing camera function wasn’t an option and a -lot- of games inverted by default back then. I believe the logic was to treat your view camera like a real video camera, where you push the back to the left to point the camera lens to the right, but most people don’t have that type of experience so it’s less intuitive, which is why it’s less common now. I blame mostly Spyro flying challenges for my limited inversion use.
And like you, I struggle with games that don’t allow me to pick, which is most of the older games, even remastered 😭 it’s so hard to re-learn.

This is an “expansion” not a “DLC” according to CDPR. It’s a lot bigger than your normal DLC. Up to you if you think that’s enough.
I think it’s also a chance for them to try to find some redemption. Journalists have a lot to sink their teeth into with the whole meta story of the game so I think that might have added some encouragement.

It’s not a redemption arc to get (years later) fixes to stuff that should’ve worked at launch and game systens that were advertised to be there from the get-go.

A redemption arc is when someone or something starts bad or reviled, and eventually comes to be seen through other eyes. Looks like that applies to CDPR and Cyberpunk to me.

Well I’m having plenty of fun with it, and I haven’t even installed 2.0. If it was a release from this year it would be my second favourite after Baldur’s Gate. So I strongly disagree with your dogshit assertion. If the DLC and 2.0 make it better then it’s for sure a redemption arc. And from the looks of OpenCritic, seems like a very universal feeling.

“Slightly less dogshit”? Have you played 2.0 yet? Have you even played 1.6? Doesn’t sound like it. They put in a ton of fixes an QoL in the last two years and this latest patch is just one more FREE update. They didn’t “fix some of the issues years later”. They fixed most of the issues over the last two years and now are providing optional new content. The redemption is that after fixing all that, the new content is apparently free from the issues that plagued the original launch.
And it’s VERY clear from the way you’re talking that nothing they do could redeem them in your eyes. I’m pretty sure they didn’t shit in your breakfast cereal so you can stop acting like they did. It was one bad launch, not a pattern of bad games or anything like that. And they worked hard to remedy the issue. They bungled the false advertising, hype and overall the state the game was in launch so bad that it sure is hard. Then again, all big gaming companies are dogshit like that and I haven’t seen anyone else coming back either. And people keep forgiving them, buying their games and nothing changes. CDPR just had a bigger fall than the rest, coming off the Witcher 3 hype and having created the massive hype for 2077.

I just finished the 2nd boss. This game feel funny to me. I played Soul Like with parrying consecutively (Sekiro , Wo Long, Jedi Survivor), so my instinct is to parry, but not seeing stagger bar and hearing people calling it Blood Bourne cause me to try to dodge primarily instead. Hey, it got me this far.
I will try playing it with parrying and see if it make my life easier. Those damn charging enemy with their multi hit drill require parrying on every tick. I’m not gonna Daigo that shit lol.
I think this game need Hanbei to teach the player basic. Those punching bags are so useless.
I played on my launch ps4 system. Had to reformat the drive to resolve some hard locks when loading. But goddamn when I finally got into it, I found the game so enjoyable. The quests, and stories hidden in some the corners were great and detailed. My only true complaint was a bit of a shallow open world experience (wanted mini games, better cop interactions etc.) Once I cranked up the difficulty and really loved the combat. Even doing leveling loops just fragging or slicing apart groups was satisfying. I cannot wait to load it up on pc with PL and see how far it’s come.
Hold the parry button rather than clicking it quickly. When you first hold the parry button is when the window starts, and it lasts a few frames while held. This works for perfect guard as well.
You’ll still need to time it properly, but holding it longer should have a noticeable improvement in the consistency of your parries.
I'm ready for PL. I just finished re-watching Edgerunners last night in one go. It was just as good this time around as it was when I first saw it a year ago.
Although both games launched to controversy, there is no real comparison between Starfield and Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk is flat out better.
@Stillhart I was still waiting. One of the reasons is that I wanted to build a new computer (which happened last week) and waiting until the game got fixed a lot. Both happened. Now I am waiting for the launch of Phantom Liberty in a few days, as the base game will be dropped in price again. That's when I go into the game for the first time. And it will be the best version of the game so far.

Like many open source games, it has that distinctly ‘alpha’ feel to it right now, but I do enjoy NodeCore on occasion. It’s a zen minimalist block game with a unique diagetic crafting system. Instead of a traditional “recipe book” or “crafting grid”, you produce new materials through in-world transformations. For instance, to make glass, you have to surround sand with fire, and to control fire, you basically want to build a deliberately-shaped dirt or stone pit… the whole thing feels a little like minecraft and a little like a sand physics sim or cellular automata.
Helium Rain launched a few years ago as a commercial game with an open source launcher (BSD-3), and as of a few weeks ago the game became free on Steam. The developer is no longer maintaining it, but there’s still a small community that are interested in it.
I think part of the problem is just that there are a lot more good games that people know about! Unfortunately one of the tradeoffs for all the riches of heaven is that it’s a lot harder to cover them all.
