SillyBanana, do games w PC Game Recommendation for a Broken Arm?

You might have some luck with a controller, using only a half of it, and re-mapping all controls there. Steam Controller might be great since it has touchpads. That might make some mouse-requiring games playable.

Using only keyboard, damn that’s difficult to find something, haha. I think these might work, just going by my memory: FTL, Toki Tori, Undertale, VVVVVV, Braid, Dome Keeper. Basically that kind of simple 2D games. Then almost any racing game.

You could also try some eye tracking solution, can’t help with that though.

glau, do games w PC Game Recommendation for a Broken Arm?

Might I recommend the timeless classic Heroes of Might and Magic III? Most of the campaigns are not too difficult after you get the hang of things, if I remember correctly. And you can get a hundred hours out of it even if you only play the official campaigns.

ono, do games w PC Game Recommendation for a Broken Arm?

Are you sure it has to be keyboard-only? Would a mouse or cheap touchpad work with your off hand, so long as the games don’t require fast response or fine accuracy?

Slay the Spire is a mouse-driven deck-builder.

Crypt of the Necrodancer is a rhythm-based roguelike that uses only four keys to play.

Both are excellent.

Tatters, do games w PC Game Recommendation for a Broken Arm?

Total War. The campaign is turn based; although battles are real-time, you can auto-resolve them instead, which will remove any real-time elements from the game.

Why not try out Western CRPGs?

I gather from what you’re writing, that you’re trying to get into JRPGs.

If you want action-laden fights without random encounters, I suggest the “old” BioWare RPGs:

  • Mass Effect Trilogy
  • Knights of the old Republic 1 + 2
  • Dragon Age Origins (never played the sequels)

They’re old but gold and still one of the best.

And there are still:

  • The Witcher 3 and
  • Cyberpunk 2077
Carighan,
@Carighan@lemmy.world avatar

I will say that I hate to call something like Cyberpunk an RPG at all. It feels almost entirely like a shooter, with the RPG parts somewhat tacked-on. This is more evident even with the missing 6th spec tree and how, even after massive rebalancing, the whole level-up and spec-system are entirely irrelevant without a lot of mods.

Don’t get me wrong, modded the system works well.

But as installed, it’s just all rubbish and feels almost forgotten by the devs.

mmorschel,
@mmorschel@feddit.de avatar

OP asked for “RPGs for people who don’t like RPGs”.

And yes Cyberpunk has all of that:

  • Story, Conversations and Decisions
  • Quests
  • Skill and Leveling system

It’s a proper RPG but with a huge focus on the shooter/action part and yes, in my opinion it lacked on the Quest and interaction part.

But I wouldn’t say that the battle system alone defines a RPG, see Mass effect 2 + 3 and the Witcher.

Carighan,
@Carighan@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah true, you’re right. Nevermind my comment. 😅 Especially on the background of wanting an RPG for non-RPG players.

Isn’t Cyberpunk 2077 also based on the RPG system with the same name?

Rough_N_Ready, do games w Questions about coop in baldurs gate 3

Having a blast with coop. They’ve improved systems over divinity. For example, during combat, if you and a teammate have turns next to each other, you can both take your turns at the same time. This really helps combat flow faster. I’d much rather play it coop than solo.

I haven’t been this hooked on a game in a LONG time. It’s amazing.

ABCDE,

I assume co-op is online and not on the couch? Think it’d be good if I can get a friend to co-op with in the same room?

FippleStone,

I believe couch co-op is comimg for console, although apparently the devs are having some trouble with it on xbox

Mojojojo1993,

Couch co op os available on PC. I checked with someone for GeForce

ABCDE,

Oh nice! And is it okay on a controller?

Mojojojo1993,

From what the other guy said. Yeah controller is all good.

NoName977,

That sounds nice, i will probably wait for my friend. Too tell you the truth i hoped that people here would say that it’s bad so i could start playing right now, but if it is even better then D:OS2 then i will wait :P

JebanuusPisusII,

Gdzie niby jest problem z odzyskaniem konta do któregoś z IdP? Jedyne, czego brakuje, to żeby jakaś szanująca prywatność organizacja działała jako IdP (np. Mozilla).

didleth,
@didleth@mastodon.social avatar

Czyli “log in with {FB,Google,GitHub, etc.}” tylko fajnie by było gdyby właśnie ktoś lepszy też oferował bycie IdP jak np. Mozilla albo gdyby stworzono wsparcie dla nomadycznych tożsamości.

Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, Mass Effect, Guardians of the Galaxy (not a real RPG, but has RPG elements).

Kotor, absolutely, and me:le if that takes.

No love for Guardians? I was pleasantly surprised by that game.

The unpack process is usually single threaded, and a stock 5820k is slower than a ryzen 1600 in that case, so you’re probably just running out of CPU performance. My server runs a 6700k and it’s pretty slow to unpack even with nvme arrays

For Windows I’ve used Game Save Manger for years, since it’ll auto find save locations that you want to select to be backed up.

As for saves. I’ve had some luck finding them from nexusmods and sometimes steam message boards or guides.

On Linux you could use a program like Timeshift and specify the general directory your save files are located in and have them backed up on a schedule as well.

As for saves. I’ve had some luck finding them from nexusmods and sometimes steam message boards or guides.

That sounds like what I’m going to end up doing. I wasn’t sure if there was a general well known hub for save files I was unaware of.

NightOwl,

Yeah, it’s where I seen lot of 100% complete save files. Used it to see the Arkham Knight true ending over doing the ridiculous amount of collectables.

A couple of my favourites :

  • Days Gone
  • Metro Exodus (I would recommend you play the 2 previous games before to understand the story. They are linear, so if you do not like that, simply watch a playthrough of both of them. BUT. I highly recommend you play and experience the atmosphere of the first 2 games, just my opinion)
  • Older Assassin’s creeds (BF, Unity, Creed, Brotherhood, etc)
  • Witcher 3
  • FFXV
  • No Man’s Sky
  • Need for Speed Unbound/Heat (which ever one is cheaper, I prefer unbound, but they are pretty similar.)

And, if you have a good computer that can emulate switch games, I would highly recommend BOTW and TOTK as you’ve mentioned in the post. The best open world games there are.

Alternatively, a lot of games have save editors that you can sometimes use to rebuild your save. I’ve found some other saves on nexus mods too.

Maybe you mean Gamefaqs. Not all games have it obviously, but there is a saves category for some. Here Skyrim as an example. And to search for PC games: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc
