Day 33 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world) angielski

Today’s game is L.A. Noire (also probably the last screenshot i’ll take of it unless 100% takes longer then expected). I was up way later than i thought i would be completing it (Nicholson Electroplating didn’t help), but i can proudly say i completed the story....

Meh. They are their own worst enemy. If you’re going to make a console, you have to give people reasons to buy it. Their lack of console selling games isn’t the steam deck’s fault.

I thought the ps3 might kill Sony’s console dreams but they buckled down and delivered with the ps4.

M$ can salvage this, if they genuinely reflect and start delivering.

Gameplay mechanics were also a lot better with more replayability. (lemmy.world) angielski

Ignoring the lack of updates if the game is buggy, games back then were also more focused on quality and make gamers replay the game with unlockable features based on skills, not money. I agree that this game doesn’t get as much love as Lost Odyssey. But that is rightfully so. LO is an amazing game.

He has some points but the main one, mentioned in the headline, is shite.

There are plenty of gamers to go around for just about any game, if it’s worth playing.

If we wanna talk about soulless AAA bullshit like live service, or making trash out of a popular existing IP, that’s a different convo. Taking shareholders out of gaming would benefit everyone.

I agree with this. Roblox is huge and often how kids of an age socialize/play. Teach them why mtx aren’t okay, and protect yourself from having to pay.

Get them into some irl stuff too. DND group, sports, book clubs, etc.

I really hate when “your choices matter” just means less game. I get that branching every choice is asking too much but it is a little easier when your scope is refined. Rdr series do what they do well and gta has been fun. If they upgrade their engine and game design, that would be amazing. If they don’t, I’ll settle for them stopping monetizing grinding.

While I hate slippery slopes, this is an historic trend. They squeeze in little ones that don’t seem so bad. I accept no games with these predatory or greedy models and I’d argue that kids shouldn’t be subjected to them.
