shapesandstuff,

Daaamn ut03 wasn’t easy to get last time i checked. Generally would say i prefer 04, but 03 was my first contact so it holds a special nostalgia to me. Will have to look again!

shapesandstuff,

Glad you agree

shapesandstuff,

I’m a younger millennial.
I’m out of my 20s. My back hurts. You’re wrong :D

shapesandstuff, (edited )

Sundered is a cool 2D metroidvania / action rogue lite blend.
Absolutely gorgeous artstyle, unique concept…

Loop Hero is another rogue lite, that has a bit more of a management feel to it. The hero traverses the loop (the level) automatically - you just get to change their equipment and the environment. It’s a cool balancing act between making a tough level with synergetic enemy types/tiles and making sure your hero survives.

Hollow Knight - if you like metroidvanias you probably know that one. It’s incredibly popular! amazing game.

Dead Cells - same basically :) 50% off on steam right now!

Edit: Seems like you’re looking for retro/emulation stuff mostly? I might be misunderstanding your comments.
These recommendation all have Switch and PC versions. No clue how well they would run on yuzu

shapesandstuff,

“Best” and “most important” are also two very different things. Like tetris, pong, doom and some other trail blazers might not be the kind of long-term engaging many people would think of when coming up with best games. But their impact and long term effects on the tech, the market or design of games is impossible to ignore.

shapesandstuff,

Yeah exactly, I agree

shapesandstuff,

Looks more combat focused and hand crafted… Is it otherwise similar? Or just bc its a fantasy survival thing

shapesandstuff,

We did everything within our power

If you’re that down bad, days after entering early access, you never had a plan to begin with.

shapesandstuff,

Gog has some ways to claim drm-free digital versions of gsmes you bouhht elsewhere. May be worth a shot.

shapesandstuff,

Great comment, exactly right.

Hilarious to imagine from the perspective of a non tech savy person though: your virtual machine program “something box” is for the other old windows, not the old windows you want. Get this “other box” windows thing to make the right old windows so you can play windows games on your windows pc.

shapesandstuff,

I’m really confused about this. I only ever heard about this as ane extraction shooter. But I also only found some tiktok clips didn’t follow it in advance or anything

shapesandstuff,

Same goes for eft to be honest. Idk “with mmo elements” might make more sense in that case.

shapesandstuff,

Back to catch up on Baldurs Gate, finally tied up act 1. Also back to Tarkov, the masochism is in full swing.

Aaand back to counterstrike, did i mention masochism? CS2 has brought the gang back together though, really feels like almost a decade ago when we had full lobbies every night.

shapesandstuff,

Would be a good one, yes. But currently the trend is getting closer from 1.5 to 1 generation ago

Worst offenders to me are cod, despite a bigger time gap. Force bundling a remake into another live service game that STILL GETS SHUT DOWN AFTER A FEW YEARS FOR THE NEXT LIVE SERVICE.

shapesandstuff,

Oh and the music is BANGIN.

If you like nothing about roguelites, or just don’t dig the games, check out all three OSTs. Lovely stuff bt Chris Chistodoulou

shapesandstuff,

Thanks, I’m currently on mobile so a quick post was all I had in me :)

shapesandstuff,

This isn’t exactly a remaster, you might call it a remake, reboot or something like that. It isn’t “just” the first one with a bit of new stuff.

The DLC for 2 did get announced though, yes.

The situation around who does what is a bit confusing too since hopoo sold the IP to gearbox.

Returns is made by Hopoo.

Ror2 and future dlc, as well as finishing/releasing the port of Survivors of the Void is gearbox software.

The mobile thing is 100% gearbox / third party studio with no involvement by hopoo

shapesandstuff,

For me the second game probably beats the og by a hair. Might also just be the memories i had with friends i pulled into it :)

shapesandstuff,

They said they like the idea.

shapesandstuff,

Car Boys was such a beautiful stupid part of my youth.

Still sad Nick turned out to be a creep.

Him and Griffin had a great dynamic.

shapesandstuff,

Sexual harassment and pressuring fans was the main thing. Also using his position for it of course.

shapesandstuff,

Im so happy how it went from a slightly janky physics demo to a respectable driving sim.

I think aero is still mostly missing but otherwise they got their systems working super well

shapesandstuff,

Yeah but xbox wants them to buy the xbox accessibility controller.

Fuck that, third party controllers have always been a thing. Such a dumb hill they wanna die on.

shapesandstuff,

100% it’s a total moneygrab.
At the detriment of those who struggle the most already - those who need special equipment, and those who can’t afford official ctrls.

shapesandstuff,

These are the hard hitting gaming news that i’m here for!

shapesandstuff,

I have no idea, never seen it before but at least OP and the author are hella excited :D

shapesandstuff,

I tried an early playtest of it and it felt like a mobile port of some free to play pubg copy.

Janky, unfocused, confusing.

shapesandstuff,

Yeah but i dont think anything changed about my complaints as far as i could see

shapesandstuff,

The tests went on for quite a long time is what i mean, i kept getting emails even after i stopped.

Idk about the scope being so crazy, there are similar games executing such concepts well. It was simply the execution of the systems and overall game and level design. That and the terrible technical issues that really held back whatever they had managed this far.

Consumer Nintendo Switch 2 rumored to have more RAM than the Xbox Series S (www.notebookcheck.net) angielski

A new Nintendo Switch 2 rumor has surfaced claiming that the next-generation hybrid console could actually arrive with more memory than a powerful rival like the Microsoft Xbox Series S. The same source has also offered an update in regard to the Switch 2’s potential DLSS support and ray-tracing capabilities.

shapesandstuff,

I mean ram means fairly little in terms of raw power

shapesandstuff,

Its a slightly janky game with a huge scope. Makes sense that they had a lot of fixes left from pre release sprints.

Most ive run into was some t-poses here and there and camera wonkyness. There were some issues with save games too from what i remember

Doing things in games because it simple felt good. angielski

I’ve been thinking about the PS1 game ‘Driver’ a lot recently. It’s a game I spent a lot of time on during my youth, and whilst I’m sure it doesn’t hold up some 20 years later, it was still a highlight from my ‘gaming youth’....

shapesandstuff,

That level in the clouds when you look up in the entrance was so magical. Always a little sad when it ended.

But yeah that and the slide behind the stained glass window were so awesome

shapesandstuff,

I can vouch only for the first one. Its so cool. Ths aesthetics, the lore, the story, the bosses… Oh and a banger soundtrack!

The Steam Deck is changing how normies think of gaming PCs.

Just thought I’d share something I thought was pretty interesting. I have a mother in law who is… well let’s just say she’s a stereotypical older mom who doesn’t own a computer, just an iPad. During the pandemic, she started getting into Nintendo games and bought herself a Switch. Fast forward a few years later and...

shapesandstuff,

Thats because its linux only in a technical sense

shapesandstuff,

Well for the user. Like the mum from the post won’t go like “Oh wow the linux pc that is my steam deck can game”

They only experience steam OS as the console. Like when mum used to say you play “the nintendo” too much :D

shapesandstuff,

Exactly!

shapesandstuff,

Good point, i didnt think about it that way

shapesandstuff,

I feel like it would’ve made sense to include some real examples. Otherwise this just reads very… made up? :'D

Not sure how to explain, but the simplistic nature of the stories you use as examples make the whole text feel a bit like an angry strawman argument even though it probably makes some good points.

shapesandstuff,

Lol I’m genuinely curious. Its at the top of my “to play” pile since I’ve heard so much good about it.

So if there’s any fair warning to temper my expectations…
