As Gamers Express Concern About Borderlands 4 Potentially Costing $80, Gearbox Chief Randy Pitchford Says: ‘If You’re a Real Fan, You’ll Find a Way to Make It Happen’ (www.ign.com) angielski

The video game industry has made the jump to $80, first with Nintendo and Mario Kart World, then with Microsoft and its price hike announcement that will kick in this holiday season. Could Borderlands 4 follow suit?...

prole,

The writing is so cringe that even thinking about it is annoying me and I haven’t played a BL game in over a decade

prole,

It wasn’t the first one I tried, but the first one that “clicked” for me was Sekiro, and it’s still in my top 3 favorite games of all time.

After that, the other titles started making sense. But nothing compares to Sekiro.

prole,

Gameplay-wise, I think I prefer Bloodborne to DS titles for whatever reason. Setting as well. It’s the only other one besides Sekiro that I’ve beaten so far…

prole,

Seems like it should be an easy patch, right? Assuming they have any desire to (I think it “runs” on Steam Deck, so that might be enough incentive)

prole,

Lol for real… This title made me feel old

prole,

I use Bazzite on my main laptop (basically SteamOS) and it’s fantastic.

It’s really not that difficult to learn his immutable works, and it’s really not that limited at all, just different.

prole,

That’s a different iteration of SteamOS than the current Arch-based immutable image the Deck uses.

prole, (edited )

Right, but it’s a different distro than the one being referred to here. I know because I made the same mistake.

That one is based on Debian and has existed since 2013. The version on Steam Deck is Arch-based immutable and has not been publicly released yet (EDIT: For anything besides Steam Deck).

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SteamOS#Releases_and_perfor…

prole,

Like the wiki says:

Only available as the system image for the Steam Deck.

So OK sure, but you can literally only use it on the Steam Deck which already comes with it pre-installed.

I misspoke and clarified my previous comment.

prole,

I use AMD and have not tried VR, so I cannot say.

prole,

It doesn’t seem like you disagree with anything they said?

If everyone followed your lead, the end result would be that video games don’t exist anymore. Just in case you didn’t play that out completely in your mind.

prole,

I would say it’s completely unnecessary in this example. Or are you worried that someone might think that, “Minecraft and Forza Horizon 5” is a single game?

prole,

I prefer when the “world” is smaller scale like the Yakuza series for example.

Otherwise, I will immediately get distracted and 100% will never even get close to finishing the main quest.

prole,

This game is pretty good. If you like Danganronpa and tactical RPGs, then this will be right up your alley.

prole,

It’s like part-visual novel (gameplay and artwork similar to the Danganronpa series if you’re familiar), and part tactical RPG. There seems to be a sort of board game type thing too? I only really just started the game and I think its still in the process of unveiling mechanics.

prole, (edited )

Gamers are so fucking embarrassing man… These people will harass a voice actor, because they don’t like that the character the person plays killed a beloved character.

It’s like they cannot tell fiction from reality.

Edit:

Anik Talukder, a 28-year-old south Asian man living in the United Kingdom, said he apologized at least 10 times to Schmidt-Hori after accepting her Zoom invitation to discuss his Reddit post about her.

Look… It’s great this person felt remorse, but Jesus Christ these people fold immediately. A bunch of racist paper tigers.

prole,

But it does allow you to transfer/sell games purchased from the eShop. That seems good to me, no?

prole,

Same. I have no plans to even buy one until I see what their first party offerings end up being

Looking for a local co-op game to play with my SO (Steam Deck) angielski

My SO and I have been having a lot of fun playing co-op games on the Steam Deck connected to the TV. We recently finished Split Fiction and I’m looking for the next cool experience to try out. We enjoy casual co-op games, nothing too hard or violent. EDIT: pixel art is apparently a big turnoff for her so that’s out as well....

prole,

No game makes me feel more like a complete idiot than Baba is You. Great game though.

prole,

Is the writing still going to be cringe as fuck?

prole,

This is why they need to unionize.

This isn’t unique to the gaming industry, this is capitalism writ large

prole,

Taste is subjective, and all your comment does is make you look like an asshole. Just saying. Thought I’d point that out.

prole,

Sekiro is what did it for me in terms of Souls-like games. That’s the one that “clicked” with me, and I still consider it perhaps my favorite game of all time.

Oblivion remake is... really making it apparent how outdated Bethesda is in its approach to making games angielski

I know there’s great love for Oblivion (I never played it when it was new), and of course Skyrim is the gold standard for new fans (I played the shit out of that and it was my first entry into the elder scrolls back when it came out 14 years ago…) but I really feel like this shadow drop of a half assed remake is just priming...

prole,

What gfx setting are you using?

prole,

Fantasy Critic

Wait what? Is this like fantasy sports, but with video game reviews? Do you draft developers or some shit?

prole,

As someone with no kids and a work/life balance that allows me to enjoy video games, I wonder how much of this vitriol comes from bitter millennials who are mad at the world because they don’t have time to play games anymore.

prole, (edited )

How can it be that it is more enjoyable than anything else I’ve bought over the last year (at least)?

Possibly because you’re buying the wrong games? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a massive nostalgia-on for Oblivion, and I picked up the Remaster, and it’s cool…

But there have been a lot of great games so far this year. Just this month alone, Blue Prince and Expedition 33 have both been fantastic. Both better than the Oblivion remaster imo.

The Indiana Jones game is cool. I haven’t played Split Fiction yet, but it looks really good as well. Just to name a few.

Edit: More that I remembered: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Wanderstop is pretty chill. Xenoblade Chronicles X was finally released on Switch (game map is like 5x the size of Skryim or something…). Atomfall. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is pretty cool if you’re into that kind of thing.

prole,

Lol 9 times out of 10, they don’t actually play the games they whine about.

prole, (edited )

But you don’t always know about every release a year in advance (I mean for games that weren’t announced yet at the time of your draft)… Are there “seasons”?

Lol sorry, I’ve just never heard of this and I’m intrigued.

Edit: clarity

prole,

“Unannounced 3D Mario Game”

Ahhhhhh OK, I see…

Do you guys curate this yourself, or is there a website or something that facilitates it?

prole,

Neat. Thanks for the info!

prole,

Same. No problems whatsoever.

I love gaming on Linux

prole,

Use the Windows version with Proton, it almost always works better.

I’ve been playing Oblivion on Linux through Proton and have had zero issues. Like most games.

Your data on Linux gaming is woefully outdated.

I imagine the Deck hardware is barely up to snuff.

I'm bored and desperately search for a proper game angielski

So, I’ve spent over 2 hours on Steam searching for a nice game to play. But it’s all junk, as far as I’m fed with Steam recommendations. I liked ksp2 1, cities skylines 1, age of empires 2, baldurs gate 3 a lot, I just finished Divinity original sin 2. I like rpgs and management / factory games like workers and resources,...

prole,

Have you tried Against the Storm (based on your mentioning of RTS style games)

prole,

Awesome book, but man that’s a pretty major spoiler lol

prole,

Maybe… It’s been a long time since I read.

prole,

I’ve been literally at the end of the game (right before the end segment, which is very long from what I understand) for like 2 years.

I really enjoyed the game, but wasn’t a huge fan of the times where they took you out of the main gameplay loop for some story shit that, let’s be honest, is barely coherent. Which is why I haven’t started the final segment.

I’ll have to do it before the sequel comes out I guess… How long should I expect that final segment to be? Movie-length?

prole,

Death Standing is a single player game, but I’m not sure I would call it a “solo” game.

I don’t want to spoil it for you, but the “asynchronous multiplayer” stuff, and how the delivery process evolving over time through cooperation with real people you will never see or meet, parallels the story, was my favorite part of the game. And why I will be 100% playing the sequel.

prole,

Oh shit good call, I’m in the same boat. I have like 100 hours and I’m still at the end of Act 1. Had to take a break, but it’s a hard game to come back to after a while.

prole,

How is more options a bad thing?

prole,

Some save scumming. A couple of false starts. Once or twice where I played a few hours before realizing that I fucked up several hours prior.

Yes, I know this is not how the game is meant to be played. No, I do not care.

prole,

Isn’t this a free patch?

prole,

Oh OK. And here I thought I was in a thread about a video game 😉

prole,

Awe man, you didn’t have to delete your comment… I was just busting your chops, I thought your comment added to the conversation.

prole,

Meh who cares what people think lol

prole,

Work/life balance.

prole,

Thirded. You can also stream your PS4/PS5 to it if you want to play one of those games but don’t want to have to turn off your stories to play on the TV.

My stories!

prole,

I think if you tried an OLED Steam Deck, you might change your mind. The screen alone is amazing… But also, the fact that it’s a fully functioning Linux device is great as well. So much better than Android.
