mojo,

VPNs aren’t the solution to shitty laws, nor can you expect that to be a valid mass solution

mojo,

Well that was incredibly obvious lol

mojo,

Didn’t they say they were don’t making Subnautica like games? I hope not though, I loved 1 and 2.

mojo,

I personally loved the building in the game. At least in 2 it was a lot better. Luckily they ported most of the improvements from 2 into the first game.

mojo,

Been playing Half Sword, it’s hella addicting even if it’s only an experimental demo lol

mojo,

That’s basically what a therapist would tell someone anyways. Therapy can’t make you magically find the new hobby you like.

mojo,

Good ass year for gaming, we don’t get to say that too often

mojo,

Oh nooo. I’m going to be devastated all the way over here on my Linux desktop and steam.

Would you prefer if games had a separate difficulty setting for boss fights? angielski

I usually play games on “normal” difficulty these days, for a balanced challenge. However, I don’t particularly enjoy boss fights, or at least I don’t enjoy the extra challenge associated with them. Was thinking it would be nice if games had a separate setting so I could just set boss fights to “easy”, while not...

mojo,

Game looks incredibly boring and like the worst part of pirate games

mojo,

multiplayer networking is something that absolutely takes longer then just a few weeks

mojo,

$70 for Zelda TOTK, $60 of Baldurs Gate 3, $20 for Factorio. All these games were 100% worth the money.

mojo,

It’s literally against the law to state otherwise.

mojo,

The wording of this is so stupid for a lot of reasons. Specifically with how ambiguous “AI” is. The ghosts in pacman are AI.

If they’re talking about generating code bases, that’s just not going to happen.

If they mean LLMs being used by programmers in code editors as a useful tool, like GitHub Copilot, then that’s awesome and an increase in productivity.

Artists can use generative AI art for quick textures like repeating grass textures. An AI will not be able to match an art style or theme, it has a limited scope and can’t be hand crafted like what’s required in game with poly budgets.

Devs obviously love better tools. These save time and increase productivity.

mojo,

I immediately know Morrowind would be the top. The game has not aged well.

What is something (feature, modes, settings...) you would like to see become a standard in video games? angielski

I’ve been thinking about making this thread for a few days. Sometimes, I play a game and it has some very basic features that are just not in every other game and I think to myself: Why is this not standard?! and I wanted to know what were yours....

mojo,

Then people would report it as a bug that the game is too quiet

mojo,

is it just me or does that game look very mediocre

Acclaimed roguelike studio behind Slay the Spire releases new deckbuilder after publicly abandoning Unity over fee debacle (www.gamesradar.com) angielski

TL;DR the developers of slay the spire created a fun free card game within 3 weeks to explore and learn the Godot game engine. You can play it here: megacrit.itch.io/dancing-duelists

mojo,

Godot has the best Linux support out of all popular game engines. Really depends on the controls really. But they could easily release a native Linux version, or proton is so good that I’d just assume a windows version would be flawless as well.

mojo,

Balder’s Gate would be pretty chill until the illithids transform everyone

mojo,

Both are behind Baldurs Gate if we’re making comparisons.

mojo,

Somehow they think less work means more game. I dunno, we’re way too deep into a circle jerk to hear any other opinions. Good for you to actually speak the obvious. Unions actually cure cancer too.

mojo,

When’s the last time you heard the word metaverse? Love all the companies that tried to immediately follow, assuming it was going to be a thing. They’re probably on to AI now.

mojo,

He definitely delivered on Fable though

mojo,

Get monetization and crypto out of games. Sell complete entertainment products!

mojo,

Gamers are known for never bandwagoning or over reacting.

mojo,

I have no idea why you think that, it’d make it much better. The environments, the characters, the cutscenes will all be much better in a remake.

mojo,

Why would they have to do that

Why do you assume they’d change anything besides modern QoL stuff like that

Where are all of these assumptions coming from that they have to change stuff?

mojo,

I think this makes it leak from the forums

Turns out baiting nerds into internet arguments is significantly more effective then foreign op agents infiltrating the dod.

mojo,

Gyro is a nice improvement on joystick gaming, but it sure as hell isn’t even remotely close to mouse aim

mojo, (edited )

Yeah I don’t believe that at all

Small adjustments from rotating a controller will never be nearly as precise as moving a mouse.

Fast flicking wide turns is going to be far too slow even at the fastest joystick speed, which would screw up aiming in other ways as well

Strafing would be very limited even if you somehow overcame all those issues and were magically a human robot. Your controller can only rotate so much to track the player over a distance.

Joystick movement is simply never as precise as mouse, including with gyro that has a separate slow speed to try and be accurate as possible. Which doing that then means you can’t strafe or quick turn.

Mouse can do it all with significantly less effort, and with a much higher skill ceiling. Which that is what matters if you’re in competitive play. If you’re not trying to be competitive, then fuck it, use whatever is fun.

mojo,

Cut back on graphics, and I mean this unironically

mojo,

Cutting out middle management is always the right answer

mojo,

Why are people upset about this? This is a million times better then a f2p gacha pay model. You’re getting a complete game (I assume).

mojo,

That’s entirely subjective

mojo,

I’d love competition in the Linux gaming space, but none of them even attempt to support it

mojo,

No they don’t lol. GOG doesn’t even have a client, you have to use Lutris or Heroic Launcher that support it.

Itch has a half implemented Linux client that they gave up years ago and is straight up unusable/broken. The client is worse then a web wrapper and nas no support for Wine, so if the game doesn’t have native Linux support, it just won’t run through the client. It will download exe’s that won’t actually run and silently fail, and doesn’t have any wine support.

mojo,

Good. The terrible marketing team who made this decision is still there, and they still want this end result. They just learned they need to approach that goal more slowly.

mojo,

We broke the law you just weren’t supposed to see it!

mojo,

All I want is a conclusion to the FF:06:B5 mystery!

mojo,

This is vaporware for vaporware lol. Who cares unless you’re ready to show off a gameplay trailer.

mojo,

Has anyone here ever walked up to their partner and just blurted out “can I tell you something? Waking up with you every day is like a dream come true” completely out of the blue?

Yes, that’s actually a really cute and sweet thing to do.
