No love for Persona 3?

What is something (feature, modes, settings...) you would like to see become a standard in video games? angielski

I’ve been thinking about making this thread for a few days. Sometimes, I play a game and it has some very basic features that are just not in every other game and I think to myself: Why is this not standard?! and I wanted to know what were yours....

I don’t know if it is a console feature or what, but I can “pause” some cutscenes with my PS4 for all the games I tried, and it worked with many games too on my PS3… It annoyed me when it didn’t though.

More split screen games, there are gamers that have a SO gamer you know? Or brothers, cousins, neighbors etc.

Only Nintendo keeps this thing alive in a wider scheme.

What is some very predatory, sneaky and popular among children game?

I’ll be doing a workshop in a few weeks, and I wanna raise awareness about predatory lootbox paytowin games. I wanna play live, an easy to start playing and understand game, that is so sneaky and predatory that some kid would very easily buy some microtransaction or lootbox without even realizing what they just did....

How to let my kids find quality games on Android? Right now they only find the pay to win / ad riddled games.

My 9yo daughter has a tablet with family link, so I can monitor what apps she wants to install. As the garbage games are mostly at the top free, she keeps asking for games that I reject, in most cases because it’s riddled with ads....

That… seems a bit too extreme, I honestly don’t think you can achieve that… unless you get her a dumb phone and assuming she never gets her own by her own means.

Ahh… I remember simpler times when we had proper handheld devices… and not having to deal with ads bullshit (shovelware was a thing though).

Perhaps the Nintendo Switch might be a good option down the road?

If not I agree about Chinese handhelds, there are so many out there and they keep improving over time.

What games can you recommend that didn't get the appreciation that they deserved? angielski

I’ve been recently been thinking about Arkane Studio’s Prey which is a immersive sim, with a pretty good rogue like dlc, that probably has one of the strongest hooks of any game I’ve played. If you liked Halflife, System Shock, or Deus Ex it’s definitely worth a play....

Are visual novels allowed? If they are I strongly recommend you:

Hotel Dusk and its sequel, Last Window. Time Hollow.

All these three games are for the Nintendo DS.

Hmm, I don’t think so, maybe there are hints from one game to another as in easter eggs, as Hotel Dusk and Last Window are made by the same company, but I haven’t seen anything related to that.

I will get the remake as well just to support this and see more of Kyle Hyde! (And I have never played Another Code games, so that would be interesting as well).

I got it and I am having a lot of fun honestly, but they say it gets repetitive… maybe that’s fine for me as I usually play the same shit over and over? And in short bursts as well!

    To be honest, technology isn’t the main factor to be amazed with but the fact that we are going to get such AAA games even when iOS nor Android are the market for it, you know, they are no Candy Crush or any regular gatcha game…

    I don’t even have an iPhone anymore, but even if I did I wouldn’t get those titles there, I will never forget Apple (or Epic or whoever fault is) to turn their back to Infinity Blade games, the third one even was a tech demo with an iPhone presentation FFS! (Does that ring a bell BTW?), and so many other good AAA like games have been lost in the time, especially with iOS.

    I recommend the Chinese handhelds too, I only have a Retroid Pocket 2 (too old), Anbernic RG351V and a Miyoo Mini V2, I only use the RG and Miyoo, the later is great for simple games/quick burst but due the lack of wifi antenna it is not possible to use Retroachivements with it… which it is possible with the RG351V, also the Anbernic has quite the better hardware without a question.

    Notice all these aforementioned handhelds would only give you a pleasant experience up to PS1 (minus Saturn), so if you want a handheld that can at least give you PSP, Dreamcast and N64 I’d pick an Android based Retroid Pocket 3+ Anbernic also have some capable models for this. it is worth to mention that if you have a relative new Android phone you already have a capable emulator with you all time, you’d only need a holder or a telescopic joystick to enjoy an almost endless library of games (despite having a PSP I finished Persona 3 Portable with my phone and a Razer Kishi controller).

    Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.

    I have never played a MOBA but some quick sessions of Vainglory in an old iPhone… If that counts.

    I can see the charm in the genre I guess… But battle royals? Hell no, you wrote it damn perfectly… It is a huge waste of time, whether it is for the grinding mechanics, or the camping mechanics, or the unfair situations, but that tension does well for streaming guys, I think that is why the genre got so popular? Like those brainless games that you see on social media like Facebook about driving trailers in messy roads or those Five Nights at Freddie’s kinds of games?

    I only played that game briefly, and I was so confused with the game mechanics, maybe I didn’t stick with it for so long, but I remember it wasn’t very clear at the beginning how you should proceed?

    Definitely sitting in my backlog though.

    I never got to finish Just Cause 1 and Kill Zone 1 🤔

    I wouldn’t say they were unfun, but definitely I felt JC was very repetitive that I sort of left it behind and same can be said with Killzone, I played Killzone 2 and 3 and never got back to 1, but I intend to.
