Watch Dogs Legion’s Recruitment System is Fantastic (spectra.video) angielski

Watch Dogs Legion is a great game thanks in large part to its incredible recruitment mechanic. It’s got its flaws and limitations, but Legion laid the groundwork for what could have been a great feature going forward. Too bad Ubisoft killed Watch Dogs.

IIRC, the recruitment system was just two radial quests (from the same pool as when they get captured, the dialogue didn’t even change) to recruit someone?

Grain of salt, as i havent played the mystery dungeon games or Colosseum, but Platinum had a great amount of story, and a decent amount of post-game content that wasn’t just min-maxing to win.

Everything post-B2/W2 is just too hand-holdy to me.

Don’t knock the Ranger games either, they were fun adventures.

Illusion is hilariously overpowered and underrated in that game (once its leveled up higher). I rushed max pickpocketing, then pickpocketed back the money from the illusion trainer at the college.

Theres also invisibility and dagger fighting; holding invis without releasing it makes it trigger after you swing

I remember this game made before the 2010s… It had these crazy cars and wild tracks. You could switch between different vehicles, and everything had this bright, neon, RGB vibe. The tracks had loops, anti-gravity sections, and you could go super fast. It felt somewhat open-world, and you could smash into other cars.

I made my way through Far Cry 3 some more today. I did another one of those dream sequences and it made me walk through this trippy underwater bridge. Someone before said that they get boring, and after accidentally bugging it out and having to do it twice, i completely understand that. They are very slow and a major pace...

I really didn’t like how railroad-y 5 was. Mechanics and gameplay wise its great, but the forced kidnapping story formula was so bad.

I felt Jacob Seed was more compelling as a villain than Joseph. Survival of the fittest extremism in the wilderness.

I recently finished Assassin’s Creed Unity and loved every minute of it. The story, the gameplay, the revolutionary Paris setting, the movement—everything was amazing. Even in 2025, Unity’s ultra settings look incredible, and I don’t think any other game has managed to handle crowds of NPCs as well as it did....

Origins is enjoyable, Odyssey felt bloated and empty to me. Origins had little bits of story in every sidequest. I wasn’t rushing to get it over with.

I enjoyed Origins, Odyssey just felt so… empty. I couldn’t bring myself to do the post-game content I was so bored with it. I got to the Medusa and juat… stopped. Have no desire to go back to it.

There was definitely more exploration but all the “dungeons” were just cookie cutter copy/paste sections from what I remember, Origins at least had some unique puzzles

I dislike this trend of invisible UI. I’m (usually) on a 4k screen, I’ve got plenty of room for it, it’s not the early 2000s anymore; stop hiding the fuckin scroll bar or video progress bar

I get a poked fun at a little bit on mechanical keyboard communities for preferring a full-size (I gotta type IP’s, need a numpad!).

I don’t think I could work solely on a laptop without external peripherals, it’s just not a good experience (also giant hands and chiclet keys is not a good combo). My work laptop exists permanently folded closed connected to a dock.

I’d put the analogy as trying to cook a multi-course meal in a saucepan on a single burner vs a full stovetop and set of pans (also you only have a paring knife).

I tried a TKL and a numpad for a while, but it just wasn’t comfortable for me for some reason. Not a fan of layering, just doesn’t come to me naturally
