Pretty surprised, I was kind of expecting it to slip past its supposed spring release just due to its enormous success. Excited to play drm-free, especially after all of the rave reviews.
I know it flopped but Titan Fall 2 is more worthy than others in that list. Also it is missing really old and influential games from the Atari 2600, 16 bit, and early PC era.
In all, it is a list put together by somebody young, that really loves Nintendo, l and with limited video game history knowledge, IMHO.
In the graveyard of live service games Concord may just be the biggest headstone, and that seems to have focused some minds over at PlayStation. Previously the noises coming from Sony were all about the importance of live service games to its future strategy, and it had announced plans to launch more than 10 live service games...
Destiny historically vasscilated between “fucking amazing” and “dumpster fire”. The problem has always been that it is near impossible to maintain that level of quality and entertainment consistently while also innovating on a regular basis. It is very difficult and very expensive.
Happy new year guys!😀 Just now, it hit midnight here, and it’s officially 2025. I was playing Pennon and Battle, and I realized it’s the last game I played in 2024!! That gave it a different kind of meaning. Now I’m curious, what was the last game you played in 2024?
I mostly play BG3 now but I was hard into Destiny 2. As long as I capped my FPS to match my monitor (so 120), I could crank it up to pretty much max. BG3 and Last Epoch I max out (still fps capped). Cyberpunk 2077 I didn’t bother with and play it on GeForce Now. Most other games I play are AA or indie and the 1080ti at 1440p handles them easily.
Space Marine II is another that’s going on GeForce Now just because I want it on Ultra everything. So literally 95%+ of my library runs maxed at 1440p/120 on a 1080ti.

Everything I know about Larian tells me that they did not try very hard to hide it. They had to for liability and contractual obligations, I am sure, but they didn’t try very hard to hide it.
Larian has always supported modding and D:OS 2 included a GM Tool, but BG3 belongs to WotC/Hasbro which likely limits what Larian can allow players to do, officially. My assessment comes from many years of watching how Swen and Larian treats players and how WotC/Hasbro treats players. But, if you enjoy snarky cynicism, I am not going to piss on your birthday cake.
Early access to a game is not an asset you can “un-receive” just because you purchase your own copy later. Of course, you could make arguments against the terms being overreaching in court, but not many creators have the resources or desire for a legal fight.
Other creators chimed in and said that they brought up the section in Discord and legal said they’d look into it. To me, this just seems as lazy copy and paste that they were warned about but did nothing about. Now they have a possible PR disaster on their hands unless they take swift action.
PS: Apparently section 2.6 is way worse but it hasn’t been shared yet.
I see. That’s not what “unenforceable” means. Unenforceable refers to a contractual responsibility that a court would never enforce. There are many reasons why a court would chosen to not enforce a contract but none of them are because a defendant doesn’t have the means to combat it.
That is certainly something that can be argued in court, and the case might be very strong…but you’d still have to take it to court. Something else to consider is that if the agreement isn’t clear about its limitations, then it can be argued that it isn’t limited. All the company has to do is send you a key to the full game when it’s available and they are technically still in compliance with the agreement. It would not matter if you tell them that you do not wish to participate anymore, or that you bought your own copy, you’d still be bound.
You might be right. This might not have been a mistake. Some creators in the Twitter thread said that they brought it up ahead of time but the company sent those agreements out as is anyway.
