Dr Disrespect finally shares why he was banned from Twitch (www.theverge.com) angielski

I love when completely innocent people say things like “no wrongdoing was acknowledged" and “no criminal charges have ever been brought against me”. I was suspicious before, but if there were no criminal charges then who cares, right? Right?

JillyB,

Has this changed? It used to be that sexting was explicitly just referring to sending nudes and the surrounding horny conversation. If you’re right, the definition has broadened to include flirting or locker room humor.

What should really happen is Dr Disrespect should release the DMs (after redacting any details of the minor) so we can stop speculating about how bad this is.

JillyB,

If you’re trying to play with your son, Smash Ultimate is good. It also has a good amount of single-player content.

JillyB,

Do it. I read the book last year and loved it.

JillyB,

Then, the sequels were so consistently mediocre that the original was more or less erased from history.

I will not have you slander Battlefield Vietnam like this. I spent countless hours on a “heliwars” server after school as a kid.

JillyB,

In the same vein: I hope they make a new Killer Instinct. PS4 was THE console for fighting games last generation. Microsoft is sitting on IP that would create a lot of hype for a sequel in the fighting game community. The dual sense controller is rumored to have a mushy D-pad while the Xbox controller has a very clicky one. Microsoft could make a real statement about fighting games having a home on the Xbox. To me, it seems like a really obvious strategic decision. The only problem is that fighting games are relatively niche so the weight of that decision isn’t too high.

JillyB,

You might be right. It does seem like we’re entering another golden age of fighting games. But fighting games don’t have nearly the audience of some of the other genres. Most people who buy Mortal Kombat don’t even play online. It’s not like a lot of shooters or MOBAs where it’s a daily ritual for huge numbers of people. The people who are like that, are really like that, but it just isn’t a lot.

JillyB,

I’m using my leverless modified Quanba Obsidian for SF6. I really like it and it packs into a bag a lot easier than a traditional stick. My only gripe with virtually all leverless: the directions and attacks are too close together. I get that the up button is meant to be usable by both thumbs but I only ever use it with my left thumb. More often, I’ll accidentally bump it with my right thumb or bump an attack with my left index. Maybe one day I’ll make a custom faceplate but not anytime soon.

JillyB,

I think he’s the guy who does Zero Punctuation

PlayStation’s first Remote Play dedicated device, PlayStation Portal remote player, to launch later this year at $199.99 (blog.playstation.com) angielski

PlayStation Portal remote player brings the PS5 experience to the palm of your hand. It includes the key features of the DualSense wireless controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback*. The vibrant 8-inch LCD screen is capable of 1080p resolution at 60fps, providing a high definition visual experience that’s...

JillyB,

Am I reading it right that it has to be on the same wifi network as a PS5? So it isn’t even portable beyond your house?

JillyB,

Came here to say fighting games. SF6 is attempting to address this with the whole single player mode. The Battle Hub also serves as a better spot for casuals. I’m hopeful that more fighting games take a better approach to teaching the game. When I first booted SFV, there was a 2 minute tutorial teaching you how to move and block and then it just cuts you loose. We’re likely in the next golden age of fighting games. It would be a shame if Tekken fumbled the bag with poor new player on-boarding.

JillyB,

I got into fighting games during the pandemic. I’ve seen a lot of references to some of these but it’s nice to have the history lesson compiled.

JillyB,

I’ve always had some competitive multiplayer game. I’m competitive and it gives that energy an easy outlet. In order those games have been:

  • TagPro - great browser-based game with a strong competitive community
  • CS:GO - I got tired of the long games and potential for bad teammates to ruin the experience
  • Smash Ultimate - love the game to death but the online experience eventually forced me to only play offline
  • Street Fighter 5 - got into it during the pandemic
  • Street Fighter 6 - my current everyday game. tons of fun.
JillyB,

I’m definitely snagging some of these later

JillyB,

In Street Fighter 5, he didn’t have the accessibility options. The game just had good sound design.

What are your favorite video games that force you to pull out the pen and paper? angielski

Ever since the language puzzle in Tunic that got me to fill up 6 pocket sized pages of notes over multiple days while trying to puzzle it out as I tried to and, eventually, succeeded at translating the in-game “paper” manual, I’ve had a craving for games that force you to pull out a notebook and take notes/puzzle things...

JillyB,

Came here to mention this. I had so many clues and mysteries I was trying to keep track of that I was regularly jotting down notes

JillyB,

We know we aren’t an advanced civilization because we don’t have a green or blue aesthetic and goat features.

JillyB,

Can you think of a game that exists in a gray area? Most games I would consider competitive multiplayer games are pretty obviously so. Maybe something like a BR game where you’re expected to not win. Or Elden Ring where the competitive multiplayer aspect is de-emphasized. Do those games even have casual and ranked modes?

JillyB,

Funny enough, the two modes for Smash 4 were “for glory” and “for fun”

JillyB,

Those are multiplayer co-op. Can you even compete in those games?
