As someone who’s using Godot and giting gud at it, I hope you enjoy it. For programming, you can go with either its GDScript (python) or C#, so Unity veterans shouldn’t have much trouble.

For Unity Personal and Unity Plus users, the thresholds are $200,000 in revenue a year and 200,000 lifetime installs.

The fees also vary, with Unity Personal developers having to pay the most for every install above the threshold ($0.20)

So, if you get 200k lifetime installs but don’t get the 200k revenue a year, you don’t have to pay it?

Existing games built on Unity will also be hit with Runtime Fees if they meet the thresholds starting January 1.

OOOHOOOOO BOY, now, that’s going to hurt a fair amount of people!

Also, what about web play? I guess that’ll only count towards revenue, but not towards downloads?

I’d make my own branch with BJ and hookers, but both GCC and Clang failed to compile :(

PureDark, who claimed to make more than $40,000 per month from locking DLSS3 mods behind their Patreon page,

Make that 50k, his current patreon page shows over 10k members. There’s stuff for several games there, tho, like RDR2, Last of Us 2, Elden Ring, Fallout 4, etc.

Seems there’s plenty of space for competitors to enter the “offer DLSS mods for games that don’t have it”

If I was earning that much per month, I wouldn’t worry about taking extra time to add DRM to my stuff. Despite the cracked version floating around, he got more subscribers since the first stories came around and he’s at zero risk of suffering any significant loss. Pirate that shit with a clean conscience

Are there any small pets or chickens for you to murder and get a massive bounty on your head?

Copyright fuels a weird form of creativity, the “Original Character do not steal” that is a blatant copy of another character. It also happens in music all the time, “Original lyrics, sound and composition, do not copy”

As for promoting free speech, yeah, no, it doesn’t. Everyone can point to a dozen videos being taken down by bogus copyright reasons, whether because it played 10 seconds of a specific music, or because the author of a piece of art disliked the video. That’s not even mentioning how you can’t (couldn’t?) use the “happy birthday” song in USA without being copyright struck.

Tried it a bit, doesn’t quite sound like what op is describing, though, there’s no vacuuming or things being dropped on the floor and the mining is downwards.

Any torrent sites with relatively lax sign up/upload rules? Or some place to easily upload torrents angielski

I’ve been thinking about putting some stuff that I can only find on direct download sites up as torrents, but most places I can access either have fake sign up/login links, or have very strict rules, like torrentgalaxy requiring at least 5 uploads per month for 3 months

Is there a scene/community of "boot into game" for current CPUs? angielski

I’m looking up for communities or scenes whose purpose is making games that you play from bootup. Not necessarily boot sector games (stuff that has to fit in 512 bytes), but things that would behave much like cartridges in old consoles, where the hardware boots straight into the game....

Might be worth a try. Interesting that there’s some stuff for running on rPi 1 and even rPi Pico, which makes me hopeful for ARM shenanigans
