I’m just a weird, furry, pan guy (cis he/him). I also have a big, blue username.

Currently on Earth for 8 years ensuring steps to unite humanity and usher us into the galactic civilization just so I can see my boyfriend again.

I’d demand they honor the 75% off sticker on the assumption that they removed the original shrink wrap to place it on the cover.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Does it, or will it later, have online multiplayer?

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

I don’t struggle to enjoy the games I already enjoy. I struggle to enjoy the new garbage the industry keeps churning out in more recent years.

Arma 3, Team Fortress 2, and Rocket League (according to Steam)

In reality, UO, EQ and Diablo 2 probably have more time than all three of those combined. They just were never on Steam.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

So the best way to play would be using Voice Attack and making every FPS into one of these bad boys? 🤔

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Why would Uniracers be banned? 🤔

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Huh… I must have gotten my copy before that happened. And lol at the reason. Who the hell held the copyright to the 'cycles personalities? From what I remember, they were all the same anyway, just different colored.

Edit: Oh shit, it was Pixar. And reading the case, and the evidence, it was a bullshit suit and the judge was an idiot. 🤦‍♂️

Real pilots rely more on the instruments than the window

This is a good game. I need to finish it but God damn the difficulty spikes hard at certain points. It was basically not even challenging until I got to like the 3rd or 4th boss and then it became harder than Dark Souls. The references and humor are off the chain, though. They not only have analogues to popular SCPs, they reference their own games like Alan Wake and Max Payne in both story and game mechanics and it’s awesome.

Also: I feel bad for the dude who had to keep his eyes on that fridge. So close to being rescued…

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

It’s mostly the non-humanoid bosses that take a few tries just to understand their attack patterns. The humanoid dudes got spongey, but I haven’t died to them yet. There’s also the RNG upgrade bits that can make it easier or harder. I got lucky and have basically infinite ammo and I gain back health as I deal damage with those. It just doesn’t help when you die because the Eldritch horror you have to look up at to make sure you’re not slapped is also breaking the floor below you and you fall through into the void. lol

Totally just a skill issue on my part.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

The way they reference Max Payne is the same. Perhaps all Remedy games are in the same universe.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

It was more advanced than Doom, but not quite Quake levels of 3D. You had verticality and rooms over rooms (or at least it was faked really well), but the enemies and such were still sprites. The level design actually does hold up pretty nicely, considering it wasn’t just random mazes, but more based on the “reality” of the setting. Tho I don’t think it holds up as well as JK2, personally.

Space sim Squadron 42 is "feature-complete" and gunning for Starfield's lunch with massive new video (www.rockpapershotgun.com) angielski

Squadron 42 is the single player campaign of Star Citizen, that is supposed to launch as a separate game. It's basically a small portion of Star Citizen, but with a story and ending. I'm still not confident; waited too long for that.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Has there even been video or screenshots of BG&E2 to prove it has even been in development at all? I thought it was simply a joke or a rumor since I haven’t seen anything even being shown off.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Starfield was just making me want a better space game so I reinstalled Elite and am getting back into it. I had bought Horizons and Odyssey as they came out, but I haven’t really sat down and played since about a year after Power Play released. The game is so so vastly different now, it’s like an entirely new one.

I’m doing exobiology for some capital and then I wanna go do stuff with thargoids. I wanna befriend an alien.

Many F2P games are worth their price of $0.

Warframe. Rocket League. TF2. Counter-Strike.

The games often become unworthy of the price the moment you spend anything on them tho.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

I paid for all but Warframe 🥹

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Source, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive all had to be paid for. Only the original mod (1.5 and under) and Global Offensive/CS2 have been available freely (and in GO’s case, it came later just like TF2 and RL).

I was livid about 1.6 going retail back in the day. I had been playing the same game for free, as a mod, for at least 2 years prior to that.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

That sounds fun to me considering I liked the original Zoo Tycoon and nothing modern scratches that itch.

Was it at least done well, though? I’ve never really looked through the DLCs. I figured most of them were just visual content additions like new styled buildings and what not.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

In Ultima Online I was part of a really big guild on Napa Valley. We had pretty much all the land north east of the Britannia swamp. We were one of the first, if not the first, guild to defeat the Harrower.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Afaik, yeah. I haven’t played on the official servers for years though. If I ever have a hankering to play it, I find emulated shards that duplicate the experience as it was in 1997.

Edit: I just had to look and see; not only is it still up and running, they recently had some kind of event on the 18th.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

It’s then that I notice the one calling out the other dude only has 1 and eliminate him.

11 cents per hour? Nice. I pay more than that at an arcade, even if the price is just a single quarter. :D

I still don’t know how to “wave dash” in Rocket League, even though I consistently stay in the Grand Champion rank. It’s more than just jumping and flipping forward or diagonally hella fast, there’s something to do with the rotation of your vehicle and I’ve never even been able to understand exactly what’s going on through reading guides or watching videos. I guess you’re supposed to be able to get like unlimited momentum because you’re never touching the ground, like bunny hopping in an FPS? But my car doesn’t ever seem to spin while mid double jump like I see happening in the videos of how it works so IDK WTF to do.

I don’t really notice anyone ever going faster than me doing what I do, so maybe it’s just a smokescreen; like all the players that are constantly rotating and flipping while flying for no discernable reason. I can control the flight of my vehicle without constant rotation; it’s the same as trying to control a rocket in KSP so I only flip or rotate exactly how I want to turn or change pitch. It certainly looks flashy compared to how I play, but I don’t see how it’s making controlling your angle easier as many players claim it does. If you’re constantly changing direction, how do you know what direction you need to be facing to go where you want to go in the moment?

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

The original Creatures I found in the going out of business sale at KB Toys when I was a kid for like $2. IIRC, it was also the first game I ever bought on my own.

To this day, it’s still be the best virtual pet game I’ve ever played. The whole system of genetics was cool as hell, and the fact it was made by scientists studying the human genome and uses real science behind the genetic modeling was super fucking cool.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

The memory I have ingrained most from the game is that once I hatched a norn that for whatever reason, could not walk. It just stayed where it hatched unless another creature moved them. I feared it would starve to death, but the other norns took care of her. They brought her food and liquid, they played with her, they taught her language, they even protected her from the Grendel. This wasn’t necessarily pre-programmed behavior; this never happened at any other time for me. They usually didn’t teach each other much, and they certainly never brought each other food or gifts. Just for the one that was unable to take care of itself.

ROCKSMITH 2014 LEAVING STORES - Ubisoft (www.ubisoft.com) angielski

You may want to know that Ubisoft’s Rocksmith® 2014 Edition will be de-listed from Steam after October 23rd, 2023 which is one week from this post date. This is a game that makes learning to play the guitar like Guitar Hero/Rockband, which can score you or let you slowly practice a part with scrolling fret indicators....

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Glad I bought a physical copy a while back cuz I needed the cable to plug my guitar in.

The lack of exclusives is really bad considering there are only like 4 or 5 real exclusives, and one of them is the tech demo that comes with the console (Astro’s Playroom).

My question here is: Are you still human, a car or an egg person? 🤔

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Don’t they technically already own LucasArts when they bought LucasFilms back in 2012?

Is that not big enough?

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

They are about as hardcore of protecting their properties, up to and including the quality of the product, as Nintendo was in the 80’s after they brought the industry back from the dead after Atari fucked it up. Or… They used to be. All of the recent live action remakes have given me some doubts.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Robin’s a pretty funny dude.

Kolanaki,

I already mod the hell out of Stellaris to have all the cool Star Trek races (at least, the portraits and styles and ships to create them with the already robust civ creation system) and treat it like a Star Trek 4X, so I don’t know if I want to really get this or not.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

VERTICAL STAND SOLD SEPARATELY

That’s kinda lame. The original one came with that. They wanna charge you extra for a plastic circle (and maybe the screw)? They’re already reducing the amount of plastic needed by reducing the size of the console. Pass that savings onto the customer and give us the fucking plastic circle!

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

It is singleplayer, but it does have leaderboards.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

This is one of the benefits of PS+; you can demo almost anything since it just gives you 2 hours with the full game.

Steam (and other PC fronts/games) could do this. But it would also make it quite easy to pirate those, which is probably why they don’t.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

I’ve only taken advantage of this once. When I had VR, I got some utility program because it advertised being able to do something I was trying to do (I don’t remember what exactly), but it didn’t actually do that thing. I requested a refund after like 20 minutes of using it and it was pretty much instantly refunded.

Damn good policy, as long as you check out what you buy pretty quick to make sure it’s what you want, IMO.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

“This is the way it’s always been done” is also the same rhetoric bigots use to justify racism. Just because Bethesda has always sucked ass doesn’t mean anyone likes it or wants them to continue to suck ass.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Nobody is saying they were surprised by it; they’re saying they are disappointed in it.

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Having only really heard the name tossed around a couple times, I don’t know much about them but the trailer for this new one piqued my interest. Is it an action adventure game or more like a point and click style puzzle game?

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

That… That doesn’t make it sound fun. Portal without Portals would just be wandering around pushing boxes. lol

Kolanaki,
!deleted6508 avatar

Have you tried Bridge Commander or the not actually star trek, but still totally star trek game Artemis?

They’re basically that. Randomly generated scenarios where you, and a few friends, command a Starfleet vessel to solve dilemmas or just exist in the world. The fun is mostly in the MP aspect (though Bridge Commander can be played solo), and the missions are pretty samey and mostly explained through text briefings. But it really feels like being on the bridge of the Enterprise.

!deleted6508 avatar

Yeah I don’t know why they can’t make space travel to work similar to NMS

Because the Creation Engine is a pile of shit stacked on top of another pile of shit known as Gamebryo. The only way it even is able to handle high speed vehicles for the space combat is by having much smaller external cells with absolutely nothing in them.

What they could have done, though, is make the planets fully walkable. For some reason, those are also not seamless. You eventually hit invisible walls in any sector you land at. The engine is very capable of handling that, though. Especially if it’s just empty terrain.
