Well shit! That’s awesome. Can’t say that I’m a huge fan of the graphical upgrade actually, at least during gameplay. Looks too much like a flash game or something. However, maybe it’ll feel different during play. Definitely glad you can switch styles. Still will be getting this just to support Gargoyles stuff. Wonder if they’ll add any voice work from the original cast? Can never have too much Keith David.
Having gotten it in the Steam Summer Sale, I'm on the verge of achievement completion for Hades - just reached the epilogue of the story after my 100th run, so I only need to get the last Cthonic Companion to get my last achievement.
On the side of the future, I've been thinking of replaying New Super Mario Bros. 2 for a few weeks now. Not because of Wonder's fairly imminent release; I just feel like revisiting the game again. Pretty sure I never even saw all the game's levels despite getting through the post-game World Star when I first played through the game, so that's probably a goal I could aim for if and when I finally decide to start this replay.
I’ll believe they made something on the same level as the competitors when the console actually comes out. An unreleased demo console is not something you should be using as a benchmark for how good the visuals are since the product will most likely go through a significant amount of changes in-between the demo and release.
Even then, there’s the chance that if the console is coming out a few days later, there is no guarantees they didn’t use an old demo console that is outdated compared to what will be released or wasn’t made specifically with the goal in mind of overselling the console by pouring resources into making the demo console actually better than the release one.
Oh, interesting! It’s a top down Zelda-like action adventure game. It’s actually not too bad! It’s also one of the most common, absolute cheapest GBC cartridges you can buy. 😅
About halfway through Blue Reflection: Second Light
The story is fine, but I’m unsure about the battle system. At first I loved it, but building up a combo in every fight makes random encounters kind of a drag. I wouldn’t mind this as I could just avoid them - however, you need to farm drops quite a lot for the crafting system.
I did not. Back when Second Light released I’ve seen people praise the game for how much of an improvement it was. I planned on playing the first one anyway, but I could not find a physical copy.
Most of my notes about this game are on my comment from last week, I finished it shortly after posting that and got the “Legendary Pair” ending. Pretty fun game, even it was kinda short and simple. Also, the time limit was no issue at all for me - I ended up running out of things to do way before I ran out of time.
I was originally planning on starting a new VN, but had a rough week and wasn’t really up to doing a lot of reading.
So I picked up something simpler and relaxing. So far it’s great, it’s very similar in structure to the 3DS games which I loved. Finished the first two “Worlds”, then spend a lot of time playing those silly minigames at Magoland.
It's hard to really say, when they vibrate, depending on the intensity that the game feeds the controller, the vibration is absolutely audible, it will never be silent, so it is a little hard to say with no audio feedback whether they're louder than they're supposed to, depending on the game.
Those are called Joycons. I would say they can get pretty loud but I suppose that depends on the game. Have you noticed a difference after starting a new game or did you notice it on the same game you’ve been playing before they got extra loud? Also, is the excessively loud noise coming from one joycon or both?
Let me just say that I disabled vibration cause when me and my so are chilling it can be quite annoying for how loud it is, especially in some specific games
Joycons. Interesting, my joycons are pretty quiet, and I have two pairs (four pairs in the family). Are they loud in certain games and not others? Which game(s) have the worst vibrations?
I’m guessing January announcement and releases in April. Makes me wonder what games will be day one release? Metroid, a 3D Super Mario, but surely not a Zelda game. Unless it’s a remake of a game.
I think instead of a new 3D Mario right away we’ll get a port of Wonder, especially if it’s not backwards compatible. If that’s the case, that BotW demo they supposedly showed off at Gamescom may be a hint at a BotW port, though why they would port BotW instead of TotK at this point would be beyond me, especially when BotW was a launch title for their previous console. A different Zelda remake may be a good bet, like an HD/4K version of one of the N64 Zeldas. I still think the new F-Zero may be saved as a launch title for the new console to show off the new hardware. Either way, they need a solid, brand new entry in one of their big franchises or something new and original (a “killer app”) to promote immediate adoption, especially if they’re apparently releasing so many good games to sunset their previous console. They can’t make the same mistakes in the launch lineup that they did with consoles like the GameCube and Wii U.
No way they don’t have a new 3d mario for a launch title. It’s been 6 years since Odyssey. And they definitely need something like that for the launch. They obviously won’t have a new Zelda so Mario is pretty much the only thing they could do. Also maybe Metroid Prime 4, but Metroid hasn’t really been a system seller. Also maybe a bit too soon for a new Animal Crossing.
