I don't expect anything will come out this but I really appreciate Ross trying to give it an honest shot. I can't help since I don't own the game but I can at least cheer from the sidelines an lend my power for a spirit bomb.

Go Ross Go!

I love Ross pushing for this but it’s hard to believe we will ever see any results. Hopefully he is right and we see so some kind of success in Europe.

Infinity Blade only got ressurected this week and Opera Omnium shuts down this month.

ProdigalFrog,

From what I got in this latest video, the EU and Australia angle seems very promising, with many roads to possible success (for any EU or Australian people reading this, you can help in a big way!)

Anything in the US is dead in the water though.

If a big enough market combats this we all win, remember, we only have steam refunds because Australia sued valve; but when only Belgium banned lootboxes EA just blocked it over there and moved on.

Yeah, the loneliness thing really resonates with me. I like to play this Minecraft-like game which doesn’t even have mobs. I live in a society all the damn time. It’s a form of escapism, to dive into this world, where I can just be by myself for a while, without responsibilities or the like.

100% agreed. I didn't even really play more than poking at Minecraft one time to see what it was about, and the instant vibe of being alone in a vast alien landscape with no other living soul for any distance in any direction is exactly as he described.

They need to hire more people as they can’t even push out updates they showed off on time.

Oh my god! I 100%ed everything that was available in this game up until some tower where the game just said “hey, no more game, go away” and just wrote it off for half a decade as it seemed like it was abandoned, super stoked it’s actually hitting 1.0! Will absolutely 100% the whole game again, it’s actually so ridiculously good!

OutlierBlue,

Yeah, holy crap! I bought it back in 2014: TEN YEARS AGO. I’d completely forgotten about it until seeing this post. Now I’m excited about it again.

I literally cannot believe they actually finished it. I played up until the secrets of mana dungeon like a decade ago and that was all they had at the time. I had long since figured this game would never see 1.0 after so many years of them seemingly only pushing arcade mode updates, which i could care less about. Happy to FINALLY be able to play! Great couch co op pixel combat 👌👌

old minecraft is great.

old minecraft developer wasn’t.

MangoKangaroo,

What do you mean? Taylor Swift made Minecraft.

Sidyctism,

Common mistake, actually it was made by tommy tallarico. His mother is very proud

Ephera,

New Minecraft developer isn’t either…

Eh, issues aside, I’d rather have a greedy late-stage capitalist developer than a proudly neo-nazi developer.

Beta 1.8 and its consequences was a disaster for my childhood nostalgia.

Care to share what happened?

MangoKangaroo,

They fixed the distance bugs :(

Damaskox,
@Damaskox@kbin.social avatar

So the game became less predictable?

MangoKangaroo,

The consequences of straying too far from spawn got less interesting.

I wonder what this means 🤔

So excited for this! I bought into the beta about a decade ago and have been reading the dev logs on secretsofgrindea.com every so often since then.

It’s a top-notch classic-style isometric RPG with tongue-in-cheek writing, great character building, and a roguelike mode.

I think I probably agree with all these statements. New Nether lost the allure for me, exploring tidied a lot of the cute chunk generation bugs etc.

Buuut to be honest I didn’t watch the video. 5 mins in and the creator hadn’t really provided any reasoning to back up any points and was just repeating the premise in different ways. Not a well paced video….

I could never get the hang of motion inputs in Street Fighter, so this is definitely intriguing me. Can’t wait to play it.

@mozz still is probably... Just the newer versions ruined it 😉
