I picked up the first one like a year back and ended up playing it through in two long sessions.

I relate to the Mass Effect 2 comments. One of my absolute favorite RPGs that fails at basic RPG things.

I don’t know if a higher up will see the numbers on PoE 2 and decide they should invest like 20 times the game’s budget to match BG3 on a sequel. Specially a Microsoft higher up. Even if they made a CRPG I think they’d go for a different franchise.

Come to think of it, that will depend on how well Avowed does.

It’s crazy though, they plopped HFH on the store the day it was announced with no marketing push, it became a critical and audience darling and execs said it was a breakout hit.

What else do you need to stay alive in this industry? Insomniac made one of the best selling games of the year and got rewarded by getting 10% of its workforce cut.

I think the best use for it I’ve heard is to make unnamed generic characters sound like more than 3 voice actors greeting you with the same 20 or so lines.

I don’t have the game but I assume “characters stored server side” means other people’s pawns like in the original where you could browse through people’s weird sidekicks and recruit them to your party. Not even Monster Hunter stores characters server side, it would be a weird shift to do it now.

Maybe one day PS4+PSVR emulation will viable, and when that happens you should play Astrobot. It’s my favorite VR game and possibly the best platformer of last gen.

I have my problems with Fallout 3, but that mission and “You Gotta Shoot Them in the Head” (which gets bonus points for having a secret outcome that’s not explicitly mentioned and comes up organically and involves breaking into a heavily armed military compound) are some of the best quests in the series.

Personally, any bigass AAA game that has a million different things to do. Like there’s no way I’m playing the God of War sequel-reboot again even though I enjoyed it. Coming from someone who beat the original trilogy like 3 times each at least

Pillars of Eternity 1&2? (only 2 has turn based combat) They’re free* on gamepass if you got it. Don’t play the console versions of 2.

The port wasn’t handled in-house and it’s not very good. Constant crashes, bad performance, minute long load times.

Well, yeah, this gen is pretty much last gen but 60fps.

Except when it tries to do fancy UE5 features or raytracing then you get that 30 fps with smeary FSR

Allow me to recommend the Flydigi Vader 3 Pro. It has Hall-effect sticks, gyro, back buttons, six face buttons, Xbox style trigger rumble and every button is mechanical. It also works on the Switch and Android
