I could never get over how boring the gameplay of Infamous looked. Comparing it to a third-person shooter is pretty apt. Like, you’ve got these crazy lightning powers, but 90% of the time, you just use your hand buzzer to give folks a bit of a zap. Riveting.
There has got to be some kind of simple compression that the Game Boy processor can handle in real time that will let it push a typical frame in the datarate available. Maybe use run length encoding, as it looks like most of those images have large flat color areas.
I was a bit worried when I first heard about this that it was just going to try and be Little Big Planet again. Which, while I’d love, I’d prefer if this thing tried to be original too.
But seeing this trailer has me a bit reassured with all the mechanics that, last I checked, Little Big Planet didn’t have. Things like the crawling and the climbing.
This reminds me of how I felt about starfield, where I needed to endure boring sci fi game so they can finally work on elder scrolls 6. I do wish though they’d wrap the story of last of us before moving to a new franchise
Wish companies would announce games later in development cycle. Often they announce too early that if it comes out, I’m sick of reading news, or videos shown about it, announced years ago. It feels like an old game at that point and takes any hype away. At least for me.
Lie before launch about what features the game will/won’t include to dodge bad reviews and increase sales, add microtransaccions for costumes of older tekkens, add in game store with a paid currency that forces you to add more money that the exact amount you want to spend, mtx with limited uses, in game adds masked as free customization items (chipotle brand), add characters from older tekkens as DLC (Eddy, Lydia, Heihachi…), add a paid battle pass separated of the season pass that gives you customization items, exclude DLC content from the Season Pass/Ultimate Edition that was supossedly to include it (Heihachi scenary).
Tekken 5 still my favorite entry in the series. Sad the older games never got a proper PC release. I played Virtual Fighter 1 and 2 on Saturn and 3tb (on Dreamcast), so cannot speak for any newer entries. At least they do not play fluid like Tekken and do not feel as good to me. Virtua Fighter also was less combo oriented. Again, I don’t know how the current state of newer Virtua Fighter games are, but I’m a little bit skeptical at the moment. Really need to test them. And I would recommend you too, so you have the right expectations.
But from the trailer, it looks much better to me than what I experienced 20 years ago lol.
