When I played on PC the game looked good, but there were definitely places that could be improved. I recall facial animations looking a bit off. Not that I think a remaster is called for.
Greed is a hell of a drug. Enshittification of the game industry means you buy the final edition after a few years at a sale and ignore any remasters/rereleases/remakes/reskins since they’re all obvious cash grabs and add less and less to the game.
The latest step to curb this is always online DRM for single player games. Easy off switch for old versions when you want the cash cows to buy the new one at full price.
This was the “oh shit” hype moment for me, as well as Yotei obviously. When I moved to the US all I had was my red PSP while I slept on a couch at my mom and grandma’s place in middle of nowhere Tennessee. I knew nothing about this games past, but I needed an escape at the time, decided to spring for Lunar Silver Star Harmony. I fell in love with this game, the music and anime cut scenes. Very excited to play it again on my TV and also try the sequel. Although I need to get mentally prepared for all the Nall dialogue!
It will be releasing on Steam and Xbox on the same day.
A lot of these Playstation trailers are borderline misleading. I don’t expect Sony to advertise for other platforms, but the way they present things make it look like a PS5 exclusive.
Microsoft did a lot of the same when they did their shows in the recent past. Very heavily implying that games are “Xbox exclusive” or “Console exclusive” which just meant it was exclusive for the Xbox console between the other consoles.
I bought the Last of Us 2 upgrade, so I can't really criticise anyone buying this, but I've played this game to it's absolute death - had every conversation, completed every mission, even played through on the hardest difficulty to get all the trophies - so I can't imagine ever playing it again. It's Guerrilla Games' own fault - if they hadn't made it so good, they could have had an extra tenner from me.
