It still baffles my brain that arguably the best puzzle game ever is by the Serious Sam devs.
Seriously. Even if you aren’t huge on puzzle games, The Talos Principle is a great experience. They do a spectacular job of introducing new mechanics so nothing ever feels unfair and you naturally realize how to find the secrets in past rooms. And there are enough “endings” that you don’t need to 100% it.
Nice! I’m playing through TP2 right now and it’s great fun, though I did enjoy the mystery of the first more I think. How many laser puzzles does a person need in life though?
World’s dumbest province elects the world’s dumbest leader who enacts the world’s dumbest traffic policies…
Also, this is happening in the city that elected a crackhead mayor, who was the brother of the guy who is now pushing through these crackhead bike lane laws
Look up “Doug Ford bike lanes” and you’re sure to find a ton. Ford has had it in for bike lanes with a rage usually saved for his non-paying drug customers.
I backed the PS version of a game three years ago and they released it for PC but not for PlayStation. They still claim the PS release is coming. I don’t believe them, so I pirated the PC version.
Crowdfunding is scammy. You aren’t actually buying anything and have few rights or consumer protections. Stay away.
Tribes was an incredible series. I’ve played every game in the series, but I think it really peaked with Tribes 2. That game was basically perfect. The movement, the gunplay, the vehicles, the maps, all of it was spot on.
Don’t forget the mods! You didn’t have to download anything, it was all server side. I forgot which mod I played most but you could set up all sorts of sensors, automated turrets, forcefields, etc using models and textures already in the game but repurposed.
Also, the net code was extremely good, it was very playable even on my 33.6k modem.
Haven’t watched the vid yet, but my opinion on Kickstarter is that funding anything other than things like board games isn’t worth the risk. With simple physical objects they’re done and just need money to begin mass production.
No shit four years ago I funded a game. They got funding and was supposed to get game 3 years ago. Still nothing. Hell haven’t had update since the summer. Want my money back. Not even interested in the game anymore. Fuck every doing kickstarter again.
I mostly came into the series at Tribes:Ascend during the beta, but had played a bit of Tribes:Vengeance with friends in the past. This video is a great summary of the mishandling of an amazing series that nothing else comes close to. There are few things more satisfying in gaming as flying at high speed across a map and hitting that blue plate special.
I was excited to see Tribes 3 until I saw it was old Hi-Rez employees running the show. I played a few of the early playtests and decided to hold off on purchasing anything until the game got into a more polished state. I don’t know if others doing the same was a contributing factor to development stopping, but by the time I started thinking about checking it out again, they had announced the cancellation of development.
I had hopes for tribes 3 but I really don’t understand the decision to make smaller maps, and scatter little bits of terrain to bump into to halt your speed. Absolutely frustrating.
