Can we kill him?

muse, (edited )
@muse@kbin.social avatar

He's violently murdered in game and you get to stuff his body in a trash chute. And you get paid for it. 10/10

Chozo,

I would reload that save over and over and over.

luciferofastora,

I saw a streamer do that once with a character they absolutely despised. Save, kill, reload, kill, reload, kill, reload a couple times until they finally had it out of their system.

bermuda,

Me with Preston in Fallout 4. Another settlement needs our help? No, Preston, I think your body no longer needs your head.

Jdreben, do gaming w 'Dad, people are sending me pictures of bears': Baldur's Gate 3 boss Swen Vincke 'wasn't ready' for the bear sex scene to go so viral

Bear sex. Not what I would expect from this game but I haven’t played any in the series. It does make me want to play it just to see how this fits into the story tbh. Good marketing.

Pyro,

It’s a different dev then others.

Its a side story were you can romance the companions your with, n the main story little to no impact

Jdreben,

Amazing. Love those kinds of side quests. Reminds me of Mass Effect.

iNeedScissors67,
@iNeedScissors67@kbin.social avatar

Bioware made the previous Baldur's Gate games so that makes sense lol

teydam,

It fits right in. great RPG game has great elements that are expansive. part of the sell indeed.

FlashMobOfOne,

That isn’t even close to the weirdest sex scene you can barge in on in the game.

But I won’t spoil it for you.

stopthatgirl7,

If it’s the one I’m thinking of, where you quite literally barge in on…oh, I could have done without that one. Hooooboy.

Dalek_Thal,

Still got that one burned into my brain. Not to mention the joke Gale made there. Christ on a bike…

stopthatgirl7,
!deleted7120 avatar

I didn’t have Gale with me for that one; what did he say?

Dalek_Thal,
@Dalek_Thal@aussie.zone avatar

Paraphrasing, as I don’t remember his wording: “Crap, a half-ogre in the making!”

stopthatgirl7,
!deleted7120 avatar

Ahh, ok, that line, or a variant of it, gets said by someone in the party. In mine, Lae’vel said, “Let’s not disturb a half-orc in the making.”

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I’m sure we’re thinking the same thing.

FlashMobOfOne, (edited ) do gaming w Bards are Baldur's Gate 3's best class and I can't imagine playing it as anything else
!deleted7243 avatar

Bard player here.

Bards are objectively the best if you want the full breadth of options to move the story around. If you want to kick ass in combat or sling more spells, other classes are better at those aspects of the game, but Bards are going to give you a lot more to play with in terms of the RP.

Not spoiling anything either, but you can always try bard and change your class later, as there is a mechanic in the game for that.

ConstableJelly,

Bards are going to give you a lot more to play with in terms of the RP.

Is that just because of the charisma? If so, then presumably paladins and warlocks could match them. Or is there more?

And? What’s the problem with that? In an ideal society with present technology we can afford to feed and house literally everyone. Let artificial scarcity rule you no longer. Let the people play games, and when 'work’is no longer, the obligation of wages they wil do it willingly, happily, and with enjoyment. Or at least wnough of us will to feed all.

So what if some get fed more than they work? I like helping people. We should have plenty to spare without the parasite class.

jj4211,

With the caveat that we can accommodate everyone so long as sufficient people put in their fair share of effort. In an ideal world that will mean very short working hours and/or nicely early retirement/late entry into the work force.

Certainly the usual talking heads are spoiled rich guys that have never known labor and have not done their fair share, but it is a difficult thing to balance to make sure we do take care of each other but make sure enough people are engaged to successfully do that

Star,
@Star@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

People will use labor to make food if they only have the means. No one sane would rather starve, and even the bourgeoise can be taught the value of their labor once it saves a life, perhaps their own.

What about all of those congress critters that get that big bad “socialized medicine” that the common people can’t (funny how it is fine when it is for them isn’t it.)? I bet that costs a shit ton given the average age of congress critters. How about we make some cuts there?

Goretantath, do games w 10 years later, no one has replicated Rocket League's mojo

Isnt there literaly a game thats rocket league but with humans? Aka Soccer with boosts?

GoTime,

Yeah it’s called Rematch. It’s like soccer with humans and much fun. They should make an IRL sport like it /s

Gork,

I dunno. A sport that uses balls? Never gonna be popular.

Nothing can compete with Basketcube, Basetetrahedra, or Foottesseract.

Damarus,

Rematch hasn’t released yet, but a few public playtests happened. While there are some strong similarities to Rocket League like controlling a single player, the walled arena and having a form of boost, it’s still very different and hasn’t yet given me the same thrill.

Rematch does not have the verticality, and so it’s missing a whole dimension (and multiple degrees of freedom) of skill expression. The arena is significantly larger, as it’s built for more players, which results in a much slower game. It has the potential to be a very solid new esports game, however I can’t see it pulling away many players from Rocket League.

RamenJunkie,

During Overwatch Summer Games, they have Lucio all, which is just Rocket League with Lucio, maybe that is what you are thinking of?

kbal, do games w Even Starfield's community patch modders are growing 'disenchanted' with the sci-fi RPG, as volunteers depart in droves: 'If nobody comes forward, we may have to retire the project'
@kbal@fedia.io avatar

People still care about Starfield in 2025? I thought everyone went back to Skyrim a year ago.

RightHandOfIkaros,

Yes. I enjoy the game. I wasn’t expecting Star Wars, and therefore I was not disappointed. I got a Bethesda style take on Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen, without an always online multiplayer requirement or getting a game still in the alpha stages of development for the last 10 years.

While there are certain elements that I don’t like, they are small issues that mods can easily fix. I cannot do that with Elite or Star Citizen. And unfortunately, this genre of games is incredibly tiny. Like, basically the only other option I haven’t mentioned is EVE Online. No thanks.

ripcord,
@ripcord@lemmy.world avatar

I like how you got downvoted for liking it.

RightHandOfIkaros,

Average Lemmy moment, honestly.

regdog,

Here is a dilemma: If you like getting downvoted for liking something, then do you upvote your own comment or do you downvote it?

MDCCCLV,

Practically I believe up\downvotes are public, so you can’t. Otherwise you look like you’re just a troll if you’re downvoting your own comment.

regdog,

Your own comments are upvoted automatically, so every new comment starts with 1 point. You can remove your own upvote from your comment, so that it starts at 0 instead.

MDCCCLV,

Yeah, but people can see if you downvote your own comment, right?

regdog,

Removing an upvote is not the same thing as downvoting

MDCCCLV,

Ok. I’m not sure what that raw data looks like, how easy it is to see the specifics.

dan1101,

I started playing it again after going back to Elite Dangerous. I’m on an expedition in Elite Dangerous so there is no one around. I’m back in Starfield to try and remember where I left off.

ICastFist,
@ICastFist@programming.dev avatar

The game isn’t good, but reading how bad it is is a certain entertainment to me, not gonna lie.

Funny thing is that I decided to pirate it around February 2024, after seeing how much people were hating it. “It can’t be that bad, can it?” - my low expectations were disappointed by reality

PeterisBacon,

Ooooo shhhh you didn’t go to the seas for it, I sold you my old copy at a discounted rate. Nothing more to see here big corporations.

RabbitMix,

I really like it, I’ve got over 1000 hours in it i know its got its problems and I understand why people don’t like it, but none of the things it does wrong are that big of a deal to me and I have fun running around doing little quests. It scratches an itch for me so I keep returning to it. Of course I want tons of support for the game, but if nobody made anything more for it I’d probably still put another 1000hrs in.

TheDemonBuer, do games w On the prospect of an $80-$90 GTA 6, former PlayStation boss says 'it's an impossible equation' for big-budget studios to keep their prices down
@TheDemonBuer@lemmy.world avatar

They’ll charge whatever they think people will pay, and I’m pretty confident that many millions of people will fork over the $80 - $90 at launch. Prices come down when people stop buying.
