They’re fun enough in their own right and it’s cool seeing a large 3d version of the world and cities, but the story changes are some Kingdom hearts overcomplicated bullshit. Each game gets dramatically worse near the end in order for each chapter to have a climax ending. I’m only looking forward to part 3 to see how weapons play out but concerned they are going to screw that up with over-animefying it. Not here for the story at all anymore.
I haven’t been following the story as I’m already familiar with the original story. I didn’t think they would have made and significant changes to it. I just wanted to see the worlds.
A Ty?
Square chickened out after manchildren ree’d about the really interesting changes made in Remake, kinda walking it back and trying to pretend it didn’t happen. And ironically, that’s kind of just worse, because those nerds are never going to be happy with what happened in Remake and its ramifications in Rebirth and ReThree, my nerds are mourning for what we could’ve had, and Square looks kinda pathetic and easily bullied.
Availability of Video Games (originally released before 2010) is approximately 13 percent, slightly above pre-World War II audio recordings (10 percent or less) and below the survival rate of American silent films (14 percent).
These are fascinating numbers, do you have a source?
The New Order was enjoyable vengence porn against Nazis, it’s a good time; maybe I need that again!
I’ve been playing the heck out of Harebrained Schemes’ BattleTech; I haven’t binge-played like this in a long time. It never feels fair; 2-1 odds is typical, but it’s always possible. Pretty satisfying to overcome unfair situations. Makes me feel smart and capable! Plus, jumpy stompy robots!
I was one of the beta testers and back then it was severely lacking. Right now D4 is at its best and I can see that it will only get better. This season is tied for one of the best seasons so far. I’ll be playing it for several hours today.
The new Prince of Persia is the worst for this! There’s no auto-cloud save, so you have to manually manage uploading and downloading to the one cloud save slot between your three on-device slots.
And no matter what, no matter how long it’s been, it asks about it, like: “Your last save was 0 minutes ago, as you sure you want to exit?”
Is it more understandable can civ 6? I’m a fan of goddamn stellaris and could competently play civ 5 but civ 6 is like being beaten half to death with a textbook on quantumn physics and then told to sit an exam. The tutorial prepares you for the game about as much as a stick of chewing gum prepares you for the beating.
Culture victories are never really explained, but that was also a Civ5 issue. I never completely figured out how luxuries/amenities are distributed between your cities, and cities don’t show a breakdown, just how many they have. I do like 6 better than 5 over all, though, but I’m also not OP.
IIRC from when I first got the game, the tutorial hadn’t been updated to account for changes from patches and expansions. It was probably fine for launch day, but decidedly not for the final game.
Hell yeah. 90% of my game time has been Isaac. Finally motivated to go for dead god with the new update. I got all marks for the non tainted characters last week :)
I kind of don’t (yet) get the stealth / thievery mechanics. I broke into a place, stole something for a quest, and although not getting any indication of someone noticing me, I got a ridiculously high bounty.
That’s the kind of things I disliked in the first game. You kill a thieve in the middle of a forest and still get bad reputation…
I played a bit of FFVII rebirth at the start of the week, but then had to pause I don’t have my main pc with me and I doubt it plays well on deck. I’m not sure if I wanna continue it tho, as my overall experience with the game up to now (middle of Costa del Sol) has been pretty bad.
I started Granblue Fantasy Relink, I think I’m near the end of the story mode. It’s pretty fun, although I wish the story too was coop.
I’m also playing Fire Emblem Engage (chapter 14), and it’s much better than Awakening: the maps are more interesting and the break system encourages you to be aggressive and makes using weaker units easier. The engage rings are pretty interesting; they feel a bit overpowered, but at the same time I feel like I’m not using them optimally.
Remake is great, I replayed it recently too in anticipation for Rebirth.
I too like the characters, which is why I’ll try to continue, but I’m probably gonna play the original game instead. I’ve already played around 20 hours of it, up to just after the
spoiler for a dungeon I'm guessing is near the end of Rebirthtemple of the ancients
, and while the fast pacing is a bit jarring when compared to Remake, I enjoyed it much more than the parts of Rebirth I played.
I’m definitely not as down on Rebirth as you, but I liked Remake more. The combat is still fun enough, even if some fights/enemies are terrible.
I’ve also been thinking of re-playing the original, when I’m done, just as I’ve done after Remake. Like you said, I remember the pace throwing me for a loop.
