Starfield. I’m only a few hours in, but enjoying it so far.

just cause 3

GrindingGears,

The last good one.

trainden,

It’s been a while since I read something about that game. Is it actually a bad game, or just a bad Just Cause game?

GrindingGears,

Just Cause 4 changed everything around. It’s just not fun, it’s really boring, plus the progression has been changed all around.

Let’s be frank, the Just Cause games were never the highest of quality, the plots were always terrible, and they were super repetative. But they were good zone out and just have a good time exploring and playing action-sandbox sort of games. Just Cause 2’s map was pretty big for it’s time too. 2 and 3 are the best of the series. 4 is a dud.

New Trackmania season came out an hour ago. Learning all the new tracks.

A bard/artist game that really makes use of the creative potential of music/painting. A great example of a “tech demo” of what I’d like is the magic system in Tchia. You got a ukulele that you can play super freely (possibly the most realistic thing if you don’t play it irl), but depending on what notes you play, you unleash different spells (kinda like in the old Zelda games with the ocarina).

I would absolutely love if the creative spell freedom of Magicka (or Fictorum) was combined with the freeform instrument play of Tchia.

I want a modern difficult farming Sim with an in depth relationship mechanic and no fucking combat. The old harvest moon games are good, but I’ve kinda played them to death and for some idiotic reason they removed stuff like rival marriages from the remakes. Rune factory has combat, and so does stardew valley (in addition to having a relationship mechanic that’s just, really shallow), and it seems like all the farming Sim games that don’t have combat are like baby’s first farm Sim and are all cutesy and aren’t very difficult

Like it feels like this would be an easy thing to do, right?

LucyLastic,

I don’t think Farm Simulator has any combat

chrisn,

Does it have a relationship mechanic though? I always assumed it was just about equipment and using that.

GrindingGears,

No but I regularly drive the truck through town at about 90mph.

Skadabucci, do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

An RPG that utilizes LLMs to interact with NPCs in meaningful ways.

Ultimatenab,

I think that is inevitable, and we will see one in the best future.

Thelsim, do gaming w What type of game you want to see that doesn't fully exist yet?

I love playing/writing interactive stories with an AI. A dream game of mine would be an RPG/Adventure game that extends this to a fully realized game that adapts to how you want to play.
Want to be the adventurer who slays the evil monster and saves the kingdom? Go right ahead!
Prefer to stop halfway, settle down and become the village baker, getting involved in the town’s intrigues? Also fine!
It would probably be too much to ask to turn this into a full-fledged 3d world with high detail. But a consistent Visual Novel would be a really great next step.

I want Quake, DOOM, and Hunt Showdown to have a baby.

Some kind of mad, fast paced, extraction shooter with crazy weapons in a gritty dystopia. Maybe Bungie will come close with Marathon.

Ultimatenab,

I will play the crap out of that as I love all three games mentioned.

I started hating Royal Match because of its intrusive advertising and false promises.

i never got any ads for royal match, but the game itself is completely ad free unlike a lot of other free mobile games

A true modern successor to The Guild (aka Europa 1400). That concept has soooo much potential imo, but the games after the first were notoriously underfunded, half-baked and riddled with bugs!

Buddahriffic, do games w What games can you recommend that didn't get the appreciation that they deserved?

I’ve been interested in Soulslike games and got Code Vein on sale recently. I think I’m about halfway through and it’s pretty good. Playing at the 2nd hardest difficulty, dying here and there but also one or two shotting most bosses, which suggests it’s found a good sweet spot for difficulty where it’s not overly punishing but also not trivial, though I kinda wish I had started it on the hardest difficulty. I’m not sure how popular the game was but I suggest it.

SevenOneHeaven,

The ultimate anime waifu creator. I’d also recommend giving it a try for any souls fans out there. Also don’t be ashamed if you look up a guide on the cathedral.

Buddahriffic,

Haha walking into the cathedral was a cool gaming moment. I get there and am looking around, wondering who could have even built this, and then Louis asks “How is this even possible?”

They did a pretty good job with the follower conversations. Yeah, the random ones can get repetitive, but it added a bit more depth when Louis voiced what I was thinking. In another (annoying) area, as you get to the end, he says he hopes we’re done here soon.

Overzeetop, do gaming w Two games free on Epic Games - Model Builder and Soulstice

Blood, Gore, Violence and Nudity? For free? Sign. Me. Up.

I kid of course. Nowadays I just get all of them (except that PC builder and 911 operator stuff…). I only have about 30-40 years left in my life, and I doubt I’ll ever clear my Epic freebie backlog.

Offworld trading company was an amazing PvP game but “economics” never was gonna sell.

A Robot Named Fight! www.arobotnamedfight.com

“A Robot Named Fight is a Metroidvania roguelike focused on exploration and item collection. Explore a different, procedurally-generated labyrinth each time you play and discover randomized power-ups to traverse obstacles, find secrets and explode meat beasts.”

It’s such a good game, almost everything is perfect IMO, I have over 200 hours in it and still go back to it every now and then. The lone developer also made the source code public a while ago, so there are mods, forks, spinoffs etc. being worked on.
