esteemedtogami, do gaming w Looking for coop RPGs
@esteemedtogami@lemmy.one avatar

Tales of Vesperia was always a favorite couch co-op RPG of mine. With the Steam release, you can even play the game remotely with everyone via Steam Remote Play Together. It’s not an MMO, and the exploration is single player, but up to 4 players can control the party members in battle. The only major gripe I have with the Steam version (applies to all versions of the remaster) is that if playing in English, some of the voice work that was added in to the remaster is noticably inconsistent with the original dub, since there was about a 10 year gap between recordings. But if that’s not a deal breaker (can always opt for Japanese audio), I’d definitely suggest it.

_Lory98_,

I was actually playing it and had no idea it was playable in coop. Depending on how well remote play works it could be a good choice. Thanks.

DdCno1,

The player with the highest upload speed and most stable connection should be the one running the game on their machine. You could use Steam’s family feature to create a “family” and share the game with the friend with the best Internet connection so that they don’t have to purchase it.

Note that some games explicitly block family sharing (usually titles that have their own launcher). I haven’t checked if this applies here.

Outpost Infinity, Executive Assault and something that was cheap and on my wishlist for a long time, totalling BRL 89 (~15 dollars)

Highly recommend using cream installer or some other dlc grabber, I think it runs for like $500 if you buy all the dlc.

SkunkWorkz, (edited ) do games w Would "suggest price" be a positive option for steam?

Ah yes Gamers™ would never abuse a system like that. There is a reason why many publishers have abandoned regional pricing, the loss in revenue is bigger than any gains they would make. Remember they are in it for profit maximization not customer base maximization. They rather sell 10 copies for 60 than a 1000 copies for 60 cents.

I think a good alternative would be is have the system, but have the developer provide a Target price listing of what they’re expecting and anything that’s significantly under that listing gets ignored

For example many people didn’t feel like frostpunk 2 was worth the release pricing and that they thought it was easily more worth around $30 instead of the 45 it released at, so Gamers could suggest that they’re not buying it because the price is too high and they could provide that $30 price point, unless that $30 price point is below the Target price that the developer has set as the minimum listing, it would be part of the metric. This would filter out the people who are abusing the system because there’s no point in using the system dishonorably because you don’t know if your metric is going to actually count where are the people who are you using it genuine and not doing obvious troll responses would not be filtered out because realistically they should be within the developers Target.

It’s not like these people are saying I would pay a dollar for this game when the games worth $40, they’re saying that they believe the price is too steep in that $30 is a much better cost point than 45.

They could even add a little bit of financial advantage onto it, by optionally having it so you can Mark a price point at what you’d be willing to purchase it at and if the developer ends up dropping it to that price point it, it alerts the user much like how eBay does with the suggest a price feature

I bought Reka and Baldurs Gate 3, haven’t played BG3 yet but Reka is fun! It’s buggy so I’m holding off on playing more until it’s a bit more stable but I’m excited. Been playing a bit of my backlog though before jumping into BG3.

Prawdziwa klasa robotnicza ciężko pracuje przed świętami, by inni mogli zrobić zakupy i miło spędzić czas, a banda wścibskich dziennikarzy bez pytania pojawia się z kamerami. Utrudniają pracę ciężko pracującemu fizycznie starszemu mężczyźnie. PKB rośnie, wszystko powinno być git. A potem internauci mu dokuczają. To nie ludzie - to wilki.

The only game I’ve been playing consistently for the last 7 or so years is stardew valley. I like other games, but sdv is the only one that I’m always happy to replay.

Actually nothing this time. I got back into Elite Dangerous hard and play it pretty much every minute of my gaming time currently.

PieMePlenty, do games w Would "suggest price" be a positive option for steam?

The action of not buying something signals the price is too high. Sales numbers vs sales expectations are the only metric that really matter.

FooBarrington,

It’s a very unclear signal as there’s a bunch of other possibilities too. Maybe I already have a similar game I prefer, maybe I don’t like the genre, …
