I finally started advancing on the main story in starfield and the faction quests and the game really picked up, got hooked for sure. I think it passed fallout 4 on my list
Age of empires 2. Bloody hell, this 22 year old game is getting another dlc. It’s gona be a pain in the ass for the devs but the game is as balanced as ever and we’ll enjoy it till the servers go down.
I went on a binge with that game recently. It is amazingly deep, I never got near all the possible ways to play. I was mostly enjoying getting my ass kicked by the computer in multiplayer.
Fun game. I'll probably get back to it eventually. Seems like it will be around forever.
ETA: There's a pretty large AOE2 community on Reddit (still? IDK?) and frequent vids on YT. I remember some very detailed analysis vids on YT when updates came out. And competitive is still a thing too.
I got super into Rimworld this last month and had a blast. I am also closing out my first playthrough of BG3, doing it with a friend so it’s taking a bit longer. Picked up the new Cyberpunk DLC but haven’t really had a chance to dig into it yet.
Wouldn’t be quite so gung ho about video games this young if he wasn’t such an avid reader. Next I was thinking about showing him the GameCube Paper Mario title.
Finished some time ago afterimage. Pretty good metroidvania. I liked it despite some negative comments, I did not find many of the issues described, or very little of it. Tho I used a map to find my way around collectables.
Recently finished hogwarts Legacy. It’s pretty good too, but it’s cursed with bugs and not sure if it’s abandoned by the dav as there wasn’t any update in 5 months. Tho most of the game is fine without game breaking bugs or too visible.
I started yesterday GRIME. Another metroidvania. For now it’s a bit soon to have a real opinion, but it’s OK.
Advance Wars is an old turn based strategy game, for the GBA (Game Boy Advance), and AWBW is a fan site to play AW online.
I’ve gotten pretty into it ever since Advance Wars Reboot was announced, and being able to play it in the web browser means I frequently find time to play…
Ironically I don’t play the actual AW Remake because in classic nintendo style the multiplayer is extremely lacking, only being able to play with players added to friends list, not being able to upload/download maps except to friends, and extremely limited map sizes for online maps
Thanks for sharing, I’m doing a replay of it AW1 on my Steamdeck so I can play Advance wars 2 after (which I never played bfore)! Never knew about this website, gotta check that out!
AWBW is awesome. I’ve been playing WarBits+ with my friend for over a year now (it is in Alpha/Beta stages). Check it out on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/2338990/Warbits/
If it looks interesting to you, they have a Discord you can join to get access to the beta.
Playing Starfield. I love exploring and I love the atmosphere. The least buggy launch I’ve seen from Bethesda. It’s great.
I wanna get back into AC6 and try my hand at pvp but every time I try I get nervous and chicken out. If anyone knows of a place for noobs to hangout, chat, and learn the game please let me know.
Got Hardspace: Shipbreaker on sale the other day on Steam and been pleasantly surprised with it. Sometimes I’ll blow the ship up for giggles and restart.
I also just got it on sale. I told a friend my dream game was a sim where you scrap and dismantle different Star Wars ships and vessels - they pointed me towards this game right during the sale. It’s been a lot of fun!
I've been playing Cities Skylines a lot - got pulled back in with all the talk about the new one - and also Going Under.
Going Under is one of those games I bought a while ago because it seemed fun, played for a bit, got my ass kicked more than what I was used to with roguelites and stopped for a while. I started playing it again recently and think it finally made sense to me. Looking back, I probably wasn't paying much attention to the game the first time I tried it because I didn't understand there was an indication for weapon damage on different weapons - which made weapon choice feel random - and I also didn't understand how the mentor system worked - which is a big part of the strategy of the game. I've been having a lot of fun with it now, though.
Borderlands. Always thought it was an arcade/retro shooter, turns out it’s an rpg. It was exactly what I was looking for. Although I don’t really understand why some of my shots miss
Noita, kind of. It’s daunting knowing how much there’s to the game and I seldomly get past the first level
Great game I could never get past the bad generated items and associated stats. The effect it had on boss item drops reducing the value of them so much it became little reward to me.
Aren’t those remasters like Oblivion and Fallout 3 outsourced to some differnt studio, which is using Unreal engine for them? It won’t be very moddable then.
