It felt like most non-fromsoft clones in terms of the map, though. No one else manages the feel of opening up the map like they do. Elden Ring is much more focused on the open world, so it approaches the use of space differently, but the way you can look back over some areas and see what you just spent hours battling through gives a similar feel of intentionality to the map design.
Lords of the Fallen not giving that feel is part of why I didn’t spend as much time with it as the combat quality would imply.
Nobody should ever play the first Lords of the Fallen. Probably one of the worst non-indie Souls games (and I played Code Vein…) with mediocre world building and even worse boss fights. Iron Pineapple has a great video where he basically tears into it and points out why it is bad.
Ah, fair enough, suppose I could have checked that myself. For some reason I thought I remembered the old version being delisted and replaced. Suppose I’m just going crazy.
I played this when it came out because some people were hyping it up. It’s solid and a fun game, but I didn’t feel it brought anything whatsoever to the table that other shooters hadn’t brought 15 years ago. It isn’t even the first free game to provide a similar experience. Not surprised it isn’t a huge hit.
Absolutely not. When the board is looking into it, it’s because they are not returning shareholder value and they are pissed about it. This will likely end with the C-suite being butchered.
Ah yes, I hate being butchered that way, too. It sucks hard to be paid to leave before you get paid extra to start your next job elsewhere.
And don’t get me wrong, if the C-suites actually ever had to take actual responsibility for their fuck-ups, I’d be all for those board investigations. But they don’t. They get paid enough to not care about interims between jobs - just look at the CEO who said people can just spend a year on the beach or so if they’ve been laid off - plus they get paid extra both on the leaving and on the re-hiring.
If they had to pay all non-salary money back on fucking up, even retroactively, no matter how many Porsches they’d have to liquidate to get the money from X years of fucking up the company back, sure. Do it. But that’s just sadly not the case. For a C-suite, this just means changing what name is written under your name, and moving on to the next place you can grift.
they can start by just making games as gamers want it,not inserting lame ass political agendas in their games or hire politically correct nutjobs to determine how games should be inclusive.
What you mean is making games how you want them to be, not the overwhelming majority of gamers. Stop thinking everything is an agenda designed to limit your freedom.
ubisoft stock price plummeting, black myth wukong having more players than star wars franchise, game with DEI rubbish tanking or having little to no players, yea majority have spoken alright.
If it’s that they’re gonna change something in the game, I doubt it’s gonna be related to the (black) main character. I can’t imagine it would be an easy fix to fully replace him with a different character at this point.
If people really find it such a big deal I think best they could do is to let people choose their own main male character, like Odyssey and Valhalla.
Ya. What I have seen is mainly related to Ubisoft saying the game is history accurate but it is not at all that. Also they used some stolen / AI generated assets when promoting the game. Also it is disrespectful to have a foreigner going around killing Japanese.
Inaccuracies, both historical and caused by a general lack of research. Stolen assets that they have no right to use, some of which could be considered culturally insensitive. Differences in the English and Japanese “apology” letter which make it seem like they’re disregarding the Japanese, or attempting to turn the rest of the world against them. General lack of polish.
From what I understand he is not THE main character he is one of the two main characters.
It would be impossible to replace him at this point in the development and other than the super hard-core racists I don’t think anyone wants that at all.
gamepass and other subscription services wouldn’t exist in the first place if steam had some trial gameplay, i know you can buy something and refund it in the first two hours but average gamer doesn’t know this
Man, DD just keeps losing to CD Projekt. I remember DD originally came out for console right when I made the switch to PC, and when they finally released on PC? Same exact day as Witcher 3 release.
Something something shadow of giants.
Like honestly, DD devs clearly don’t think things through, and if I didn’t absolutely love the first one, I wouldn’t be giving 2 as much slack as I am.
