Well I can already predict this thread will be full of comments on the price so I’ll go ahead and give actual impressions on the game.
It’s really good! The free roam mode is maybe a bit more bare bones than I thought it would be but it’s still great fun driving around and doing challenges. Some of the challenges are legitimately difficult and some of the special ones have taken me ages to complete. The driving feels great, the new movement mechanics are really fun. Knockout tour is absolutely the star here and a great new mode. The AI is harder this time around which makes racing against them much more fun in my opinion.
Overall I’ve been having an amazing time. I do think $80 is steep. But that aside, the game is outstanding
I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I’m not going to be having a switch 2 any time soon but I do really like Nintendo games, so I’m glad I’ll be able to get some of the excitement through you :).
I’m a bit sad about the free roaming part being a bit bare bones. When they first announced it I was hoping for the creativity of a Mario Odyssey crossed with Breath of the Wild in a Kart, discovering secrets and fun places everywhere.
Also with respect to pricing: I think it depends on the game to decide what an honest price is. I would gladly give 100 or more for the joy that Slay the Spire has given me over the years. I think that a big and polished Mario game is not immediately the worst offender for being this expensive. It’s when the less polished and more cash grabbing AAA games start to follow this example that it becomes a problem. I do like how some games decide their price points differently, like Clair Obscur for example.
I’m not a Nintendo gamer, but I’ve been watching a streamer play the game, and whenever I see the Knockout Tour it reminds me of the opening set pieces of the Forza Horizon games, where you’re going through all the different biomes, to introduce you to the game. And afterward you’re let loose on the Mario Horizon festival (aka the empty open world).
The game itself doesn’t look fun at all for me, but who cares, if people enjoy it.

Isn’t the launch deal essentially getting the game for $30 off? Seems like a fair price for the game when you consider that - if you are buying the Switch 2 at launch, you are buying it to play the new Mario Kart, so I guess the $80 price tag is just to push you towards the bundle? I wonder what kind of discounts they will do this gen. Nintendo has historically been very stingy with deals, but I wonder if $80 price tag will mean slightly deeper discounts in the future?
I may be misremembering but infinite ammo is like a setting you unlock for guns that you buy with points or something of the sort. I think they are toggle-able on and off.
Edit: I believe there is an option in special settings to turn infinite ammo off
I start using this 3-4years ago, there’s a lot of games on “Not started” or “On hold” there are games there I finished but want to replay and there’s a lot of older games that I played and didn’t add to “Done”. In my case is more of games that I bought it and need to be remembered to play it.
I do the same but use collections in steam, so I move the game when done, want to play, is playing and so on, and if I really hate/dislike the game then i will hide it.
Btw i saw you had Borderlands on hold did you see the user stats on the whole Frenchies? Big red text “overwhelming negativ”, most comments was about it being spy wear so maybe change that status to Nope with Genshin impact? I haven’t really looked into it tho saw it a moment ago.
The nope are games that I dropped because of problems to play it on Linux or I didn’t like to play.
Genshin is there because I have another gacha game in the Non Stop(FGO), playing both of them is impossible.
I saw the clusterfucker 2k/take two did with borderlands and fuck them, but it’s still possible to play without their shit by sailing the high seas so I still plan to finish Borderlands 3.
I have it running on Linux and Windows 👍 if there are playtesters for Linux or MacOS I will provide builds for those, MacOS is untested however I’ll have to borrow a MacBook from someone :)

I personally make a guess depending on certain games as to how long I’ve played them. I’ve definitely lost track of how long I’ve played certain games ( especially on console ) like Borderlands or Sonic Unleashed on xbox360. Especially since I never wrote any of that kinda stuff down in middle/high school because I didn’t care how long I had been playing in total.
Though, I will say that I like and dislike how Steam tracks your progress in playing games. I was roughly 4-6 minutes off of playing for 2 hours in order to buy some game related account themes but now I’m 2.7 hours in accoring to them because I ended up leaving it on in the background. In the future, I’m not gonna remember I did that, so I’ll assume I actually played all that time. There’s no nuance in their monitoring. If the game runs, so does their meter of how long it’s been on, regardless of you playing or not.
Though, I assume a good solution would be using any form of note taking program and jotting down your play times and dates and any other notes you want. Or using a spreadsheet with that same information. As long as you don’t lose that/those file(s), depending on what solution(s) you choose to take, it should be fine as long as you actually remember to do it and aren’t lazy about that, like I would be.
Not a movie, it’s a TV series called Parks & Recreation. Same style as The Office but, in my opinion, far funnier and with great comedic actors across the board instead of just 2-3 strong ones. It’s also the show that made Chris Pratt even known in the first place. Synopsis is just a mockumentary style show following the Parks and Rec department of a small podunk town. Some people LOVE their job, other people DESPISE it. It’s also created by the same dude who made The Good Place and Brooklyn 99.
The show is really good, I wanna say I struggled in the first season. I even stopped watching for a bit, but was encouraged to pick it back up. Apparently that happens to a lot of people.
It definitely finds itself and just gets better every season.
Not as good as office or community, but like Stamets said, each character adds to the show in their own way. And it’s wild how many of them went on to be bigger stars in other roles. Aziz Ansari, Chris Pratt, Aubrey plaza, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott
I've been playing Foundry on a shared world with a friend. It pretty fun! Our factory is a giant spaghetti mess that barely works though.
I've also been playing Elite Dangerous. I bought a cheap second hand X52 hotas and I set up head tracking using my webcam and OpenTrack. It's a fun way to fly!
