Not really. It should be obvious that not every indie game will be super successful. This is just proof that some random reddit comments saying a game looks boring from an early trailer don’t mean shit, because basically everything will have those.
Well it’s kind of proof that the opinions of haters don’t meant shit. If both good/successful games and bad/unsuccessful games have them and they don’t affect the outcome at all, they have no value.

Yes, there’s less in terms of there being fewer overall discussions going on. Proportionally, though, I’d say Lemmy feels very similar to Reddit in terms of hivemind circlejerking and hateposting.

I have played through it, with the True Ending (without the extra scenes one). Jeez it was absolutely BRUTAL. Truly this was the hardest game for me, period, due to it’s relentless punishing and testing the human determination to push through adversity even if it seems impossible.
I recommend getting some good gear which has a high white resistance (I think that’s what you need for Censored?) and you can sorta easily get a high white resistance gear from Blue Star. That’s also an ALEPH, but imo it’s easier to work with that compared to Censored, but if he escapes you’re equally fucked as with Censored.
He does black damage im p sure ;-; thing is, in my run w censored (before I rewinded) my best black res gear was magic bullet… there were rare moments where my very best employee managed to do his work properly without going insane but it’s still not something I’m willing to go through again ;_;
Whenever he escaped I didn’t even hesitate to restart the day j try again, hes just horrible (bluestar’s legs are NOT worth the entire department dying, BUUUTTTTT I kinda wanna see it in action lol)
Hmm… I read your edit, and I think you're kinda overlooking the hard truth here: you can come up with a list of 1,000 things players "have to" do, but if the game doesn't enforce them, they're not gonna happen.
You can rant out of frustration all you want, but you have no control over anyone except yourself, and trying to tell people what to do will only piss them off.
You're also making a lot of baseless assumptions. How do you know how much they enjoy the game? Maybe they choose to engage with the parts they like and leave the rest out, they're happy this way, and the game lets them. Who are you to tell them what to do?
Again, ranting is fine, but you gotta have self-awareness, otherwise you're gonna get nothing but negative reactions.
To combat the ramble-y-ness of your posts you should try to add more paragraphs. That makes it easier for your readers to take a short pause while reading.
For the topic at hand, I basically don’t play any multiplayer games precisely because it is too much work to keep up with the current meta. It seems to me that often enough what the game teaches you in the tutorial is not what you have to do in the real thing to succeed.
Add to that that many people don’t even pay attention to the good things of tutorials and you get a horde of brainless people just doing the bare minimum to pass by.
As to why they play ranked, at least to me ranked play comes with the promise of match making. That you get paired up with players of a similar skill. In theory that should give you a 50% win rate. I’d play ranked exactly so that I get lumped in with players who are as bad as me.
Playing a bunch of Crusader Kings 3 and Civ V. Have half a mind to learn EU4 right as (relatively) EU5 is coming out for some reason. Also played some Lost Eidolons which is kinda fun, the between combat stuff isn’t very fun however.
This past weekend Steam had a Darkest Dungeon 2 free weekend and I finally realised that those games weren’t roguelite deckbuilders (ohhh i hate those so much). So I finally tried them and they are…fine. The “I’m so edgy and dark” aesthetic gets stale really quickly, as does the slightly-but-deliberately-obtuse UX that appears in games that are supposed to be “difficult and unforgiving”.
