Splatoon is great if you have Switches.

Helldivers 2 is PvE but is a great group experience.

Extraction shooters might be a thing? Hunt: Showdown?

For Honour. It’s a competitive sword fighting game. You’ll like the combat system. She’ll like devising a strategy on how best to lead the creeps to overrun the enemy castle.

Or maybe you’ll prefer Foxhole, a persistent trench warfare simulation game where players manufacture every bullet and build every fortification. It’s not as fast paced as Overwatch, but I bet she’ll like digging a trench for you to use for cover as you nail fools and slowly take ground from the enemy.

Wait…that’s still an thing? They first talked about it in 2019. After that nothing.

Maybe Deadlock?

EarWorm,

Yeah, it does look promising but knowing Valve time it’ll release sometime in the 2030s.

Cyv_,

Send me your steam friend code, as far as I can tell I can invite any steam friend, with no limits on numbers. Dunno how long the playtest is running, but they usually do half the day live, and half with matchmaking shut down for patching stuff.

!deadlock has a thread for inviting and getting invited in case the guy who already commented doesn’t get you in.

huginn,

Get in the closed alpha/beta and play. It’s a ton of fun.

minimalfootprint, do gaming w Wireless mouse with silent switches recommendation

It’s not easy to find info like the sound of the switch/button with gaming mice.

Maybe the Razer Pro Click, Razer’e answer to the MX Master mice, could work for you.

kurcatovium,

I have two problems with this.

  1. I consider Razer the most over-hyped and over-priced peripheral producer. The products I’ve seen were not bad, but did cost at least twice as much as their feel suggested. I don’t want to support this.
  2. Tilt-wheel. Every mouse I’ve held that had tilt wheel was PITA in the long run. I probably grip the mouse wrong, but I very often tilted the wheel instead pressing the button.
Kissaki,

The last mouse I bought is a Razer. The bottom is an awful dust collector. Never again.

Others have suggested Deadlock and that really sounds like the perfect game for you two, but be aware of one thing: it does require shooting. In the laning phase last hitting and securing the orbs from creep kills by shooting them is absolutely crucial, as the game will snowball out of control if one team outfarms the other.

It’s not out yet but Marvel Rivals looks like it may be a good fit. Hopefully they’ll announce the release date soon now that the closed beta is over.

This sounds like you want Deadlock. MOBA with third-person shooter mechanics.

Subnautica. It’s not long but I enjoyed every minute of it. And the requirements for a ‘perfect game’ on steam aren’t too difficult.

blusterydayve26,

Speaking of Rare games, I was on track to 100% DK64 until my save corrupted on the final fairy. Never tried again, damn those bananas.

toddestan, do games w What’s a game you can 100% without hating by the end?

I got all but one achievement in Subnautica, and all of the achievements in Below Zero (the sequel) in my first playthrough of both games, just from taking my time and thoroughly exploring both of the worlds and completing the story without even consciously trying to go for the achievements.

With that said, they are open world games and at times don’t really give you a whole of guidance as to what you need to do next. So you are kind of left to explore and figure it out on your own. If you don’t like that sort of game you might end up hating them by the end too.

olafurp,

Do you recommend Below Zero? I loved subnautica so much but I generally think buying another game instead of an expansion is usually a better deal.

Absolutely magical game

MindTraveller,

It’s made by a different team, but it’s still Subnautica. I liked it, just understand it’s not as good as the first.

Rai,

Subnautica is AMAZING, an 8/10 for me. Absolutely stellar.

I enjoyed Below Zero. I gave it a 6/10, a good solid game. I absolutely recommend it if you enjoyed the first.

(I use the real rating scale like I rate movies, where 6/10 is a good game… not the bullshit “scale” that starts at 5/10 = shit game)
