Lmao.

They should hear themselves.

The officials have access to the devices, they consumed the illegal content and then documented their findings. This is considered a review and the officials should be charged under the copyright law.

why target the youtuber though?

It’s the same taking the fight against drug dealers to the drug users. They don’t care about the lives they ruin as long as they can punish people.

Private servers are not always a viable alternative option for players as the protections we put in place to secure players’ data, remove illegal content, and combat unsafe community content would not exist and would leave rights holders liable.

Incorrect. Only in a capitalist hellhole like America. In the rest of the world this would never be a problem. Just release the server code under MIT and let the community fix it. Also make sure you can manually setup a masterserver in the game itself, or implement direct connect functionality.

many titles are designed from the ground-up to be online-only; in effect, these proposals would curtail developer choice by making these video games prohibitively expensive to create.

Same answer as before. Release the online part under the MIT license. Not your problem anymore at that point. You can still require an original game license for the game itself. We’re only talking about the server software here.

We welcome the opportunity to discuss our position with policy makers and those who have led the European Citizens Initiative in the coming months.

We, the people, have been discussing this for at least a decade now. Get over it and stop trying you capitalist pigs.

Vencord is not an app by itself. It injects into Discord.

Vesktop is a client that comes with Vencord and is much easier to maintain, especially on Linux.

Revolt to Discord is what BlueSky is to Twitter.

Just another continuation that can (and will) enshittify.

I'm bored and desperately search for a proper game angielski

So, I’ve spent over 2 hours on Steam searching for a nice game to play. But it’s all junk, as far as I’m fed with Steam recommendations. I liked ksp2 1, cities skylines 1, age of empires 2, baldurs gate 3 a lot, I just finished Divinity original sin 2. I like rpgs and management / factory games like workers and resources,...

Good, that’s exactly what Shitendo deserves

That means they are asking so much that it wouldn’t even hurt them that much.

x00z,

After playing tens of games on the Switch people might want to play the tens of thousands of games on Steam.

x00z,
@x00z@lemmy.world avatar

Holy shit.

I hope they opensource Dungeon Keeper.

x00z,
@x00z@lemmy.world avatar

To make the opensource project even better! :P

The compiler has optimized the rendering engine too much to be decompiled into any useable code. Somebody is working on Linux and 64bit support which will need to have this completely rewritten. github.com/dkfans/…/bflib_render_gpoly.c

The maintainer of KeeperFX told me that EA does not have the original code anymore though.

Hey that’s what the Irish Facebook holding company was doing.

To add to this;

Playing modern Windows games on Linux and SteamOS is done using Wine and Proton. Wine is available on almost every Linux distro and Proton comes* with Steam.

*You can use Proton outside of Steam but it’s quite hacky and not really needed.

x00z,
@x00z@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah I don’t see any need for desktop use, except for making a Steam console under your TV.

You can use Steam with Proton on whatever distro you want.

Guild Wars 2 mostly for me.

I played WoW a lot until the expansion after WotLK.

“Production” in software development means it’s available to end users.

At first I didn’t understand they meant development.

Catching pokemon in Terraria?

Count me in.

x00z,
@x00z@lemmy.world avatar

It’s about Steam itself. Not about the games. Steam has a Linux build while the article is about the Windows build.

x00z,
@x00z@lemmy.world avatar

I wish Valve would just ban them. It’s weird to have something that looks like pure malware in a Game store.

Dungeon Keeper

https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/9f86e936-7bc5-4e8e-ae88-7d390e967876.png

It’s a dungeon management game from '97. You are an evil Keeper and control a dungeon where you need to build rooms and train your creatures to attack (or defend from) the good guys.

Nowadays people play KeeperFX which is the opensource remake.

x00z,
@x00z@lemmy.world avatar

All of their games have native Linux builds. So if this one doesn’t support Linux out of the box, his opinion is quite valid.

x00z,
@x00z@lemmy.world avatar

My bad, I meant when it gets released.
