tiredofsametab,

I resolved to stop paying full price for anything Pitchford and his touch based on a number of factors. I did buy the latest BL game when it was on a big sale and thoroughly hated the main story and various plotholes (seemingly from cuts made by the company/directors rather than the writers). I bought Tiny Tina (again, on sale for over half off) and it was a game with all kinds of bugs that just never got fixed -- it's the first game I didn't immediately roll a new character to replay after beating it. At this point, I'm not sure I would buy anything else they put out.

tiredofsametab,

I don't think it adds anything and the extra button press probably reduces accessibility.

tiredofsametab,

I had tons of hours in it. In either a19 or a20, they added these dumb triggers that just spawn an entire world of zombies or open a set of doors with the zombies aggro'd to the player already effectively killing stealth. Worse, there's no way to know about any of this until you're in the POI and getting obliterated. I haven't touched the game since them and was quite angry.

tiredofsametab,

One was a military base and entering one part of a big open yard would open several doors with zombies aggro'd to the player. Another was the tier 5 prison that had several spawn triggers. However, before the trigger, no zombies were spawned in so they couldn't just be picked off. I never saw a visible trigger anywhere in my playthroughs.

tiredofsametab,

I liked it (well, after the Duct Tape mod, anyway) and enjoyed having more lore and info. It definitely doesn't feel like a normal doom game, though, so I'll give it that.

What are some eras of gaming that you've stopped feeling nostalgic for? (kbin.social) angielski

As I've gotten older as a player, I have found myself dropping some eras of gaming that I used to be nostalgic for. One of them is the 8-bit era, the NES days. I have played some of the best that system had to offer and I will never say that system didn't have any good games....

tiredofsametab,

I never played n64 (except maybe a couple rounds of Mario kart, but that may have been gamecube). I tried to play ZOoT, goldeneye, etc. and found the controls and camera awful. With no nostalgia for it, I was out in about 30 minutes (I think less on goldeneye be cause of that abomination of a controller).

tiredofsametab,

Same. Something I can play, save anywhere to deal with life, and pick back up when time allows. I was one of those weirdos who really enjoyed Doom 3 when it came out (with the ducttape mod; that was one mechanic I didn't like) and grew up on old Commodore, Amiga, and PC single-player games and NES/SNES/Genisis RPGs. I want that again.

tiredofsametab,

Probably snes for me as well. Then again, I missed a couple generations by being busy/poor (I still hate trying to play anything on n64 or it's cursed controller).

I had Atari 2600, nes, genesis, Gameboy, snes, playstation, switch. I think I may have had or borrowed a gamegear at some point. In my first apartment, one of the other guys had a playstation 2.

tiredofsametab,

I know that's not how the phrase is meant to be read, but I can't unsee it as it flying separately by the earth and the moon and deciding to buzz one of the two a bit closer.

tiredofsametab,

Hrm, so there's a third interpretation.

tiredofsametab,

I switched away because kbin seemed stuck and unresponsive to users and uncommunicative. Changes that were made seemed to be ones the Ernest wanted to and not addressing issues that people were feeling in some cases.

I am a software developer for a living and I can tell you that you can both have more people contributing and be secure. Most projects do not have bad actors who successfully poison things. When someone does, they get caught in the review process. If this is your concern, then prove that Ernest himself isn't a bad actor? I don't believe he is, but being one person in control would certainly make that easy.

tiredofsametab,

I had just assumed it was for the generation whence a chunk of the programmers came

tiredofsametab,

Yeah, I switched over to an mbin instance; it was just too unstable and unpredictable for me on kbin.

tiredofsametab, (edited )

It did for me. Haven't touched anything new of theirs since.

Edit: was also a paying ESO customer at the time; dropped the sub and uninstalled.

Borderlands players - what is your opinion about the new movie trailer? (piped.kavin.rocks) angielski

Apologies that this is not a pure gaming question, but I’d really like to hear people’s opinion on the Borderlands movie trailer and especially from people who have played the games. That’s why I’m asking here, I hope that’s ok.

tiredofsametab,

Loved the first three games (BL1, PS, BL2), hated the 3rd. Tiny Tina's Adventure was OK, but had many bugs/issues that ground me down and it was the first one I didn't even attempt a second character on (I couldn't tell you which at this point).

I didn't even make it all the way through the trailer. Hard pass from me (as will be BL4 as Gearbox/Take Two get shittier and shittier).

tiredofsametab,

Eddings, I think was his name, had a falling out with Gearbox so there's no way he would be cast as the voice. I missed him as claptrap in the games he's not.

tiredofsametab,

I don't think I can be 38 right now unless we want to really break physics. I wouldn't mind shaving a couple of years off, though.

And I'd have to use that weird-assed controller shudder.

That said, y'all have fun and enjoy it! :)
