It’s BS though. People with TOTL hardware are having issues. Those systems don’t underperform because the game is advanced or anything like that – the game underperforms because it is a new release that is poorly optimized. It’s also expected because it’s on a senior citizen of a game engine that likely needs a few other nudges.
Todd Howard forgets that PC users see this shit all the time, and it’s pretty obvious with this one. Hoping to see talk of optimization in a coming patch instead.
Edit: a good example – not hitting 60fps in New Atlantis, but concurrently, CPU usage in the 50s and GPU usage in the 70s. That’s a sign of poor optimization.
Cyberpunk was always a shit show on console and fine on PC. I played on the latter from day 1, and it was a great game. But completely understand that the console situation was unacceptable and the need to show the company that by voting with one’s wallet.
CPUs though, since with those, AMD is much worse than Intel
Simply untrue with later AMD. Slight advantage to Intel, but not the blowout it used to be. Intel loses entirely if power consumption and cost is taken into account.
But of course, games rely largely on GPU power, and the CPU concern is generally secondary.

Yup. That seems to be a part of their business model (doing anything Steam won’t do). The problem is when those calls by Valve are for issues that touch on ethics.
It’s why I won’t even install their launcher. I don’t care how many games are free on Epic. I can’t support that kind thing.
AMD folks are having a good time, but nvidia folks will need to wait. The game is purposefully not optimized for nvidia at the moment due to AMD sponsorship. (Also potentially to point out that many AAA titles tend to be optimized for nvidia but not AMD at launch)
I was playing BG3, but I randomly jumped into X-Plane 12 and now have the flight sim bug. Once you learn how to do things it’s quite relaxing just picking some random locations and doing some flights in a nice plane model.
Bethesda’s engine disallows that entirely. Everything has to be chunked into pieces with loading screens between – every previous Bethesda game has done that, so it’s not really a surprise.
Agree it would be neat, but I also already have No Man’s Sky, and I’m looking forward to Bethesda competing on story.
