chunkystyles,

Just a preface that I don’t like PoE.

Season 4 is a lot more fun, but I still think D3 is a better game. But if you compare D4 to what D3 was like at after release, D4 is in much better shape. It’s definitely heading in the right direction, and I suspect that the expansion in August will make it much better, similar to how D2 and D3 did.

Back to season 4, I leveled to max level, maxed out the battle pass, and experienced all of the content and that was good enough for me. I want really interested in sticking around to switch to better build and get the best gear.

chunkystyles,

8 hours active battery life doesn’t sound good?

Sounds like a lot, to me.

chunkystyles,

It’s very different. I’ve only just created a party and watched some tutorials, but I have a general idea of what it’s going for, and it’s nearly the polar opposite of fortress mode.

chunkystyles,

If DF never existed, we would’ve missed out on so many amazing games it directly and indirectly inspired.

chunkystyles,

even a gacha pull.

I’m in agreement up to this point. The only gambling that feels good, the only gambling you really remember, is the gambling that pays off. And that’s part of what makes it so insidious.

Fixed price transactions, where you know exactly what you’re getting, are all OK in my book from a consumer perspective. Pay to win included even if that kind of thing makes the game itself bad.

So to put this in real terms: I think that Genshin Impact is worse from a consumer perspective than Star Citizen.

Gacha games are one of the few kinds of games I absolutely refuse to play.

chunkystyles,

It looks good. The bones of NMS are easy to see, but there’s enough new to make it exciting.

chunkystyles,

Just capitalism, which has sucked for centuries.

chunkystyles,

Yo, I got copies of his keys made. How do I find his house to rob him?

Please respond quick before he changes his locks.

chunkystyles,

Imperfect game is as bad as potentially fatal food poisoning, obviously.

chunkystyles,

I’ve played enough CS1 to know that I can’t play it any more, no matter how much content it has. Its absolutely braindead traffic AI destroys my enjoyment of if the game once a city gets sufficiently big.

The traffic AI fixes were all I needed to see to be interested in CS2.

chunkystyles,

I understand what you’re getting at, but even cities with lots of public transit get choked with traffic in CS1. The traffic AI is abysmal.

chunkystyles,

Yes. Still choked with traffic. You can’t get rid of cars completely.

chunkystyles,

I don’t actually get that reference.

chunkystyles,

I thought I was going to play this game day one. The performance issues are going to keep me away until they’re fixed at least somewhat. I’m happy to hear that’s the only complaint reviewers have.

chunkystyles,

I hope so, too. I am unbelievably hyped for this game. It really seems like they fixed everything that detracted from the first game. Mainly the awful traffic “AI”.

chunkystyles,

That’s a very bold, sweeping statement.

IMO Oblivion is better.

What games can you recommend that didn't get the appreciation that they deserved? angielski

I’ve been recently been thinking about Arkane Studio’s Prey which is a immersive sim, with a pretty good rogue like dlc, that probably has one of the strongest hooks of any game I’ve played. If you liked Halflife, System Shock, or Deus Ex it’s definitely worth a play....

chunkystyles,

I feel like Dustforce got decent buzz when it came out. I imagine it was helped by its phenomenal soundtrack. The game was too hard for me to really enjoy. But that soundtrack, I still listen to it occasionally.

The same artist did the soundtrack to Tunic, and while not as good to listen to outside the game, it adds so much to the ambiance of the game and elevates it.

chunkystyles,

I wanted that game so hard but never played it. It looked so cool to me as a teenager.

chunkystyles,

A few years ago I replayed Oblivion for the first time since it came out. I played a pure spellcaster with no weapons or armor and it was a goddamn blast.

I would just sprint and jump around like a moron while invisible and ignore most threats. Threats I had to deal with got vaporized.

So much fun.

chunkystyles,

I don’t know you, or what you know of the game. But I do know many people have preconceived notions of what the game is that are wrong.

If you haven’t tried it before, the early game is pretty tedious. And that can turn people off. Once you get a few bosses down and especially when you move into hard mode, it really opens up.

chunkystyles,

I’m not trying to sell anyone on anything. I’m just giving honest information about the game to someone who has already said they don’t intend on playing it. I was addressing what is a common complaint about the game.

For context, I absolutely devoured that lackluster early game back in 2011. It’s just that as the game has gotten content over the years, it’s mostly been added to the latter half (probably like 2/3rds really) of the game. And also, games and peoples’ tastes have changed a lot since 2011 when the game came out.

So for me, today, the early game is a slog. And it’s something I’ve seen many others complain about. I understand the “it gets better” is often used to try to sell lackluster games, but I don’t think Terraria fits that bill. But the game legitimately gets better after the first few bosses for most peoples’ tastes.

chunkystyles,

You might enjoy playing it multiplayer with them. Worth trying at least.

chunkystyles,

you’re an Elder fresh from torpor.

That’s interesting…
