ashok36,

It was seven years ago. Unless he was talking to a ten year old, they’re not a minor anymore.

ashok36,

Yes. You understand how pricing works. The stores charge what the market will bear. That’s why games had been stuck at $60 since the 360/PS3 era.

ashok36,

“I’m standing right in it and I’m not dead.”

ashok36,

I tried on pc gamepass and it’s very underbaked. No controller icons at all and not even a way to quit the game at the menu. You literally have alt+F4 to quit the game. I’ll wait a few weeks for the bugs to be fixed and try again.

ashok36,

trying to do a tutorial without any way to know what buttons do what is incredibly frustrating. Maybe not a big deal for some, sure, but for me it was an hour of hitting my head against a wall.

Also, forgot to mention: when building structures, there’s no way to rotate pieces. It’s completely broken.

ashok36,

With the addition of overhead trains, that might be possible in the future.

ashok36,

Yeah, because Steam changed their terms of service to prevent companies from doing said bait and switch schemes.

ashok36,

They still sell the index, they pivoted the link into being sofwltware you can install on anything, and the controller got killed by patents trolls. Steam machines weren’t made by valve so I can’t pin that one on them entirely.

GTA 6’s Publisher Says Video Games Should Theoretically Be Priced At Dollars Per Hour (www.forbes.com) angielski

While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.

ashok36,

"breaking news: a czech man known only as kovarex has rocketed to the top of the most wealthy men in the world list. Legislation is currently being drafted to regulate the use of the drug ‘factorio’ with several legislators describing as ‘extremely addictive. Like, so addictive. Really guys.’ "

ashok36,

that stupid subscription model that will make you pay without knowing what games you will get for your money.

You’re showing your ignorance here. They announce the monthly bundle at the beginning of the month and you have the entire month to ‘pause’ your membership for that month. If you pause you remain a subscriber but you don’t pay for that month and you don’t get the games for that month.

I can’t believe this was upvoted.

ashok36,

You can literally set the split between Warner Bros, the charity, and Humble Bundle to whatever you want.

You can absolutely buy the $15 tier, get all the games, send $0 to WB, $12.75 to charity, and $2.25 to Humble (the minimum to cover processing and costs I guess).

WB probably gets to write off the money as donations to charity but forcing WB to give money to charity, regardless of tax implications, sounds like a win-win to me.

ROCKSMITH 2014 LEAVING STORES - Ubisoft (www.ubisoft.com) angielski

You may want to know that Ubisoft’s Rocksmith® 2014 Edition will be de-listed from Steam after October 23rd, 2023 which is one week from this post date. This is a game that makes learning to play the guitar like Guitar Hero/Rockband, which can score you or let you slowly practice a part with scrolling fret indicators....

ashok36,

The Rocksmith+ song selection is garbage. Don’t bother.

ashok36,

Dude rocksmith+ has zero songs from either jimi Hendrix or Chuck berry. Moving closer in time, no green day or sublime. Even closer, no Paramore or fall out boy. I don’t know who rocksmith+ is supposed to be for but… It’s not people that want to play guitar.

ashok36,

The ozzy ones aren’t even ozzy songs. They’re from an album of covers that ozzy did. Total clown show.

Not to mention, a majority of “songs” in their database are only chord charts which are barely useful for someone that actually wants to play a song on their instrument.

Buggy games should be 100% allowed to be refunded. angielski

I have no idea how many runs I started in BG3. Every few moments I report a bug. Every update the game seemingly gets worse. Decisions don’t work, pathing is awful, after the latest update attacks no longer connect properly and my character claims not to be able to attack with a clear line of sight and so on. I have never...

ashok36,

You say that rolling back to a previous save “didn’t fix it”? Do you mean that the error happens every time you reload? How far back are you going in time?

ashok36,

Fine with me. Dyspon sphere program does the whole build up instead of out thing and I don’t like it as much. I think satisfactory started the trend though.

ashok36,

The idea of starting off being ‘crowd funded’ to put out your first couple of releases until the big money investors decide you’re worth risking anything on is how almost all artists across mediums do things in a capitalist system. As someone from a music background, the parallels between a band scraping together enough money and time to self produce a demo or an EP vs. an indie studio working on a game after work hours is pretty strong.

Honestly, the patron model is probably the best solution that I’ve seen. The problem is that it’s become so tied into patrons receiving weekly updates or rewards that it’s hard to turn that viewpoint towards longer term projects that don’t necessarily lend themselves to those kinds of short term updates.
