Day 245 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games l've been playing until l forget to post Screenshots

I have finished Red Dead 2’s story completely. This has got to be one of my favorite games in recent memory. They could have just stopped it at Arthur’s death and brushed over everything that happened to John in between the games, but instead they gave us this amazing 2 Epilogues that perfectly tie the two games together....

ElPussyKangaroo,

RDR is so beautiful man. I want to finish the games. I’m waiting for the right time.

Day 204 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (pxscdn.com)

Me and my friend have finally finished our off and on again project of Halo 2 Legendary. Let me tell you, it was hell. The forced Iron Skull for Co-Op on Legendary made it so painful and we got locked in place so many times. I feel like by that point we should have just gone and done LASO lol. I took this screenshot right before...

ElPussyKangaroo,

While I haven’t played Halo, I feel you on being stuck on the same level for ages 😭

ElPussyKangaroo,

Man, I was playing Control. My poor laptop was already at its limit rendering the damn game at Medium graphics. But added to that, I was streaming to my buddies.

There’s this one level where we are in one of those dreamlike places and I was supposed to jump to climb a slightly out of reach rock. My laptop, bless it’s soul, could barely chug along at 10-15 fps. I kept missing the rock and falling down into the abyss. After almost 30mins of this, I legit rage quit and played Papers Please 😭.

Turns out, my laptop’s vents were clogged by cat fur (thanks Lisa, my furry baby) and the thermal paste was worse than death valley 💀.

Finished the game a week later. Felt SO GOOD 🤌🏼.

Day 190 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (lemmy.world)

I continued to break my CFW PS3 Slim in today with LittleBigPlanet 2 (and a little bit of Uncharted). I bought it completely on a whim but I love this thing. For only $90 it’s a powerhouse. I connected to my Jellyfin server with it and used it to stream a movie today, and I installed LittleBigRefresh to reconnect to some...

ElPussyKangaroo,

Ah man, I SO want to play Uncharted but they won’t port it over to PC. Only 4 and the spinoff is available. WHY SONY?!

ElPussyKangaroo,

EXACTLY! How hard is it? If they could port The Last of Us and the last 2 Uncharted games, surely they can do the same for the first 3.

I doubt this is a Naughty Dog issue either, because they did release a TLOU PC port.

Day 183 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I’ve been playing until I forget to post Screenshots (pixelfed.social)

Today’s game is Cyberpunk 2077. I’ve been wanting to save this for my new gaming rig i’ve been planning (i think Lemmy will be happy to know i’m planning to stay with Linux lol), but after getting news some of the parts won’t be here until Febuary, i’ve decided my Steam Deck can go through one last Marathon Sprint...

ElPussyKangaroo,

Cat pets detected, 10/10 from me too.

Additionally, have you ever played Driver San Francisco? I doubt there’s a copy available today, but maybe you could source one? Its a really good game.

ElPussyKangaroo,

HELL YEAH! (Was the YTer Nick Robinson perchance?)

ElPussyKangaroo,

He’s a really good YTer. His videos are amazing to watch and his two videos on Driver San Francisco are fantastic.

ElPussyKangaroo,

How’s the overall survival experience? I love this sort of game but sometimes it gets very repetitive and boring…

ElPussyKangaroo,

Looking forward to your input on the story element.

ElPussyKangaroo,

This seems intriguing now. I always love it when games prioritize the plot over gameplay…

ElPussyKangaroo,

Quick Question : What does it mean when they write like this? 83403

ElPussyKangaroo,

I love it when games make the in-game weather kind of match the real world… Also, love this series of yours. Keep going. I’m here for it.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Ikr.

ElPussyKangaroo, (edited )

I have never played this game, yet every time I come across the name I always remember that video with that woman recording the song in a studio.

Link to the video: youtu.be/022CdArz5oM

ElPussyKangaroo,

Here you go man. I watched it again too 😂.

ElPussyKangaroo,

I love this game. I loved the Bullet Time feature, and the overall plot was really good. I forget if it’s this one or MP2 that I played as a kid… >!There’s some woman who is following us around, we are also trying to seek revenge for the dead family or something…!<

ElPussyKangaroo,

Life. The things I wish I could’ve played as a kid. I wish I could get into stuff like One Piece as well, but these days it’s so hard to have enough time for just one episode a week, let alone binging 5 a day to finish the minimum 1000+ episodes.

ElPussyKangaroo,

The fact that the common argument in favour is “it gets better at the 100 episode point” like, bro… I have a life ffs.

ElPussyKangaroo,

THAT’S THE ONE! Yes!

ElPussyKangaroo,

Glorious. I absolutely would love such reels at the end credits of a game.

Maybe even simulated bloopers like with the original Toy Story credits. To watch these characters act like actors would be hilarious.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Haven’t played L.A. Noire yet. Is it worth the money and time?

ElPussyKangaroo,

Alrightey.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Okay. Will do.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Bloopers for Mario?

ElPussyKangaroo,

Nois

ElPussyKangaroo,

Interesting

Edit:

So, I had a look at it… It feels like a Blooper reel made for the game… The Toy Story one I believe started off with them using bloopers from the VA sessions.

But nonetheless, to have such content requires the game itself being fully finished before the deadline. This is the basic requirement we lack currently, so such stuff will only add to the stress of the devs.

ElPussyKangaroo,

YO MAM-

ElPussyKangaroo,

I recently finished playing Deliver Us Mars. I’m happy with it for the most part, but it only reinforced my suspicion that Unreal Engine games are not being optimised well enough 🫠

In case anyone wishes to know what I thought of the game:

The story is fine. It feels like so many problems would be solved with a simple conversation and characters make decisions impulsively. The voice acting is spectacular, and the background music, while not cinematic by any stretch of the imagination, was definitely really good for setting the mood.

Part of my review from Backloggd

ElPussyKangaroo,

Hmm…

I’ll be honest, I definitely prefer having everything on one platform for convenience. This is in second place; right after letting me play a game directly from the icon without having to open the damn launcher in the first place.

Also, I am not well educated about the technicalities of Steam or GoG, so all I can say is I’m enjoying the cool factor of GoG combining my accounts in one place. Kinda bummed that Epic’s integration doesn’t have game time and achievement sync… But that’s probably an Epic thing.

Also also, fuck yeah! If it’s free, I’m in 😂.

ElPussyKangaroo,

I guess so… Unless a company is objectively terrible, I guess it does end up being “subjective”.

For example, I like the idea of Linux, but am happy that things work on Windows. And MacOS is too restrictive for my tastes.

Now, surely there are objective reasons for why Linux is better than the others. But the entry point issue for me is that each distro is different, and while I love customisability, I cannot expend energy on setting up my distro at the moment… (Soon.)

Plus, games work on Windows. I do plan to dual boot when I get a better PC, but not yet.

And fuck Apple (subjective, but I don’t wike em). So, yeah 🫡.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Epic doesn’t have the game time sync, but that’s an Epic issue I believe.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Playnite looks interesting.

Does it have support for linking Backloggd accounts or similar such platforms?

ElPussyKangaroo,

Fair enough I guess… I only use Epic for the free games, so I can’t say I’ve spent much time genuinely looking at the user experience 😅.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Definitely a terrible idea.

Using money to jump ahead in the line is a terrible mindset. Provide good features, you’ll get your recognition.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Didn’t know about heroic… Gonna check that out.

Also, wow. You’re the dude that appears in comment sections with well-formatted paragraphs 💯.

Appreciate your service.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Fair points.

ElPussyKangaroo,

My first purchase when I’m earning enough to spend on entertainment will be a good device. The second will be games that I can either physically keep or digitally store on physical drives.

Let’s hope that happens next year 💯

ElPussyKangaroo,

Yeah, what is up with that? What’s wrong with Epic and Linux?

I remember reading that they bought Rocket League and then removed Linux support. Really dumb strategy.

ElPussyKangaroo,

UT = Unreal Tournament, yes?

My dad got me that game on his old laptop when I was a kid. It barely ran, but boy was it exciting ❤️.

The Plasma gun was my favourite 🫡. Especially in that space level… The one where you could jump outside the windows.

I have a bone to pick with Epic regarding Unreal Engine as well. Terrible optimisation. Any game I play, if made using UE, is terrible.

I’ve played the first two of the Tomb Raider trilogy on medium on my 4GB GTX 1650, i7 9th Gen, 16GB RAM laptop. This device has pushed me through my engineering and still continues to run most of my work. It also runs Forza Horizon 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 good enough.

Yet I install Deliver Us Mars, a game with a much smaller scale, and my beautiful beast starts to stutter. 🫠🫠🫠

ElPussyKangaroo,

I might be on the same trajectory too if my experience worsens 🫡.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Oh yeah. No, absolutely not… I logged in…

I installed one game, uninstalled another.

Waiting to get time to play using GoG soon.

Also, do we know if there’s any integration with services like IGDB?

ElPussyKangaroo,

Wow. That’s understandably frustrating.

ElPussyKangaroo,

Regarding the user reviews, I would much rather prefer stores integrating with existing sites like IGDB rather than have independent review systems.

But that’s fine I guess.
