TL;DR: Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser discussed with Wired the impact of new tariffs on the Nintendo Switch 2, which may increase its price from $449 to $600. The tariffs affect manufacturing in Vietnam, Cambodia, and China. Nintendo is assessing the situation, having already moved some production out of China.
Finished my first BG3 run, man the acting is great, especially at the when characters get their big emotional moments. I’m thinking “that’s acting!”, also recognised Omni Man immediately....
Avowed is fantastic IMO. It’s been handcrafted and feels like a living place as opposed to Starfield which was expansive, siloed and impersonal. As a massive Skyrim and Mass Effect fan it is easily my fave game since BG3, probably even more than it in fact.
Today’s game is Red Dead Redemption 2. After years of not finishing the story after making it too Chapter 6 on my Xbox, i decided now’s the time. Especially since i just finished Halo MCC on Legendary. Ideally, i’d love to get all the achievements because i love the fuck out of this game despite never getting to beat it...
I really hope so! It seems like such a no brainer, get a studio to remake the bulk of it and keep creative control. I came into TES world in Skyrim and would love to go back through them but I’m a snob for a modern looking game now.
I am lucky enough to have both the PS5 and the Xbox and personally find very little to pick out between them. I prefer XB controller but think the PS5 one is better quality with the haptic feedback. I love Game Pass and have found tremendous value in it, more so than in PlayStations version though PS still manage to get exclusives.
Mind you the way some of these articles sound is that the whole Xbox gaming division is on its knees and doesn’t sell a machine or make a penny.
The excitement of getting one of the original bad boys for Christmas and being glued to Super Mario and Tetris for years. Then Pokémon Yellow. Was pure magic.
Is it maybe voice files etc for all the potential branching storylines and conversations that can happen? It’s such a spiderweb of branching storylines that I’d imagine it can take up a fair whack but I genuinely dont know jack shit, just spitballing.
Me and my Friend played Some Red Dead Online today. I went fishing and some how managed to get my character to float off a dock. Sadly i couldn’t get any fish to bite. In fact, after doing a bounty i feel like no animals were spawning. After i gave up i found a nearby gang hideout, which i didn’t even know was a thing in...
Love RDR2 but never really spent much time on the online version. Is it good to just explore? Are there missions the same as in the main game but just not voiced by your character?
Love BG3 and Divinity OS2, about ten hours into DOS and enjoying it too. They have top tier storytelling and seem to enjoy what they do. I’ll be getting whatever they do next but I hope it’s sci-fi.
Right?! They must have so much fun coming up with races and classes etc so a fresh canvas to create on would be killer. Plus they make nice visuals and the soundtrack for DOS2/BG3 is 👌
Thing is after a certain point I can’t even tell the difference any more. I feel like the downloads are throttled from Microsoft’s side so I never quite get the full whack.
Looking up those patents, the first alludes to a system where a player aims and fires an “item” toward a character in a field, and in doing so triggers combat, and then dives into extraordinary intricacies about switching between modes within this. The second is very similar, but seems more directly focused on tweaking...
Today’s game is Uncharted 4 again. I got back too it with Chapter 11. This whole chapter is really pretty with it architecture and lighting. Another example of what i mean is the lobby of the clock tower you go to:...
Skyrim will always hold a special place in my heart, it’s almost like a simpler time.
Starfield damaged Bethesda for me though. To spend 25 years on it in total and for it to be as it released was very disappointing. I mean basics like no city maps or land vehicles? Every base you come across having the same bodies in the same place with the same loot? I want to love it, they can do things I can’t even imagine (I can’t program Jack shit) but for that to be the end point of their decades of labour just doesn’t add up for me.

Is Baldurs Gate 3's voice acting so great that it ruined other games for me?
