It pisses me off now that they didn’t make it a permanent release. Like, physical copies, i can maybe sort of understand. But the digital copies? I refuse to believe the server space it costed was that much extra. It sucks too because i’d argue in terms of accessibility, 3D all stars is the best way to play those games.

I keep a playlist of video game music to listen too while i work, and it’s soundtrack is on there for a decent chunk of the playlist. It’s so good.

I can see how someone else night gets bored quickly. Very much a lot of the fun I was having i manufactured myself such as the Photo Mode (or I played split screen with family and friends)

I handed it to my brother the other day to play for me and the P Blocks and ? panels were like his favorite thing to do lol. Races? Nope. He wants to do collectibles. Granted he’s older than your 4 year old, but it is funny seeing how much children are enjoying the collectibles

The lack of single player stuff really is one of the most disappointing things about it. I feel like there’s a whole bunch of stuff they could have done. Like some sort of street race system to unlock characters. It would have certainly beaten having most of the notables ones unlocked from the get go

You’re right. I guess it was a lack of good sleep these past few days and the frustration with trying to find the Mii maker that made me think that way.

On the topic of World, i was playing through it today and noticed what you were talking about. Going through it in the Grand Prix i kept picking up bits and pieces of older courses mixed in there. Mario Circuit was the one i noticed the most but i also noticed a few others too.

I had a friend give it a try too. I personally didn’t notice a difference (but also my go to Mario Kart is 64). But he plays a lot of 8 deluxe and kept commenting on how slow it is.

I really like the switch 2, and with my switch 1 being broken for me. It’s much more of a “Buy a new switch 1, and a $100 investment into the new system”. I think I will get one soon, but I think I’m gonna hold off for a bit just to see what exclusive it’s gonna get, because the ones I’ve seen aren’t very appealing to me.

Damn. You just reminded me I need to pick up Ace Attorney again. I played it on my 3DS, got to the second game, then dropped it and proceeded to be it on 3 separate systems. I really should pick it up again because it was so much fun

I agree with your last point. Mario Kart 8 will probably be my go to for casual friends. I appreciate World trying to experiment but it needs a bit to grow into it’s shoes and figure things out I think

I know about DK Pass and the one with the Giant Robot DK, is it any of those? DK pass is a favorite from DS (I like the song) and the other one is memorable for the… yknow… giant metal DK. Both are pretty solid and I liked playing them. The giant metal DK one had this section where I jumped over barrels in a recreation of the OG arcade game which was awesome.

I’ve unfortunately had bits and pieces spoiled for me online with all the discourse about the game’s ending online (and the TV show’s launch helped kicked it back up a little too I think). But I am still excited to get to it. Games like this are my favorite so I’m excited

I saw the chronological version and almost played that but decided not to after seeing the warning to play the main campaign first. I knew it had the dual characters and thought maybe it was like an Alan Wake 2 Situation

I’m excited too play though! I like to give games a try myself and not just take popular consensus on them (assuming the games are morally just ofc) and I wanted to try this. The consensus seems to be all over the place because I see people saying either it was really good Or it was the worst thing ever. I’m excited though to try it

Definitely in the same boat. I loved the first one storywise, but damn, the second one’s gameplay is awesome. Something about it feels far more expressive and natural. I got to Seattle today and it’s so damn cool having that big open space

If i wasn’t on PC i’d actually look into my library for games because they have a good selection. Unfortunately my Xbox has been stolen by my siblings and is enjoying it’s retirement in the living room, my Switch decided it didn’t want to be here anymore and just… let the battery go out and somehow the heatsink oxidized (though, as much as i disagree with the Switch 2’s price point, i’m looking into one since for me it’d be a Switch 1 + a 100$ investment for a new system. Plus im fortunate enough to be in a situation where i can afford one and let my friends try it so they can decide for themselves), and i haven’t really had an interest in a PS5.

For the brief moment i had the consoles though, the library was a godsend. I wish more people took advantage of them because they’re one of the most important public resources around i’d say

Is it similar to System Shock? I think I got the first for free but had no clue it was similar to prey. Maybe I’ll have to give that a try next

The turrets are a lifesaver. Set up a firing line and bait the enemies into it. Maybe provide assistance fire with the Goo Gun and it makes quick work of everything.

I’m not big on rougelites, maybe I should give it a try though. It doesn’t seem like it’d be too expensive on sale

They’re definitely something i think someone needs to be in the mood for, but damn, when you’re in the mood for them they’re some of the best things you can play. Naughty Dog really knows how to make the best of what they’re working with. It makes me curious to see whats next

As a old member of Gen Z, i can definitely say the prices aren’t helping. A lot of people in my age group just don’t work from what i’ve seen, so with 70$ and sometime 80$ games they aren’t going to be buying many. On top of that, and this may just be the people i’ve exposed myself too, but most of them don’t want longer experiences. They’d rather plop down with something like FF14 or Mario Kart and play that over and over and over again. That’s not a bad thing, but i definitely think it’s not helping. And like i said, this might just be the people i expose myself too.

I can definitely get that. I like to keep a good few games on hand i can just hop into after a long day, it’s nice to be able to kick back with smaller games even if my favorites are always bigger story games.

As someone who’s first laptop was a Dual Core with 6GB of RAM, I appreciated when Indie Games ran amazingly on it. It was a life saver
