As a long-time Stardew Valley fan, I never thought I’d find a game that could capture my heart quite the same way. Fields of Mistria has done just that. I’m honestly blown away by how good this game is...
Yeah… by these bizarre stipulations, there are few dozen games ranging from decent enough to poor quality that even pass the first hurdle of being “impressive”.
A fun little 2000 era RTS with customisable mech chassis units/base building/multiple fighting levels per map (separate air/land/underground maps). In hindsight, it has a fiendishly difficult campaign which I remember it being a lot easier than I find it now…
I swapped over to a Sunshine host (non-NVidia version of Moonlight) + Moonlight client combo for game streaming and it absolutely blew Steamlink out of the water for me. Went from lag, resolution switching and disconnects to buttery smooth on my Pi400 at 1080p.
Getting your novel picked up as the basis of a high profile film release certainly helps, in both direct cash and increase in visibility/sales for that book and its sequels.
I wonder if they’ll spend as much time defining what an LLM shouldn’t be talking about/doing as they would defining what a non-LLM should be talking about/doing.
Easier to character create someone who you have more specific preferences over. Can’t really get as invested in how aesthetically pleasing my generic human bloke is, but I play more male non-human races.
I remember all the marketing and promises for Black and White 2 that were never realised. It doesn’t feel like they really managed the first sequel, let alone another one.
Yeah… bearing the brunt of your owner’s budget cuts doesn’t sound like a good time. I do wonder how well the studio will survive in the current climate as an independent.
If it starts to expand significantly in order to accelerate their efforts then that seed money will burn out increasingly fast. Unless they can establish significant ongoing income streams of some sort, or sacrifice capacity by keeping their structure similar to now, then they might burn out.
It does require some actual inspiration as well. Companies are setting up production lines and wondering why solid gold doesn’t just plop out the end when they switch it on.
They were legitimately picking up an activity that they generally try to prevent. AMD was using a technique to apply Anti-Lag+ that was expressly monitored for, to provide anti-cheat.
What is worth 30 dollars to you…? You said you’d have paid 15 for this, which is absurdly low in this day and age. A small expansion pack in the early 2000s would have cost more than that.
What a bizarrely corporate measure of quality this is… this is how you end up with mile wide, inch deep grind fests that just ooze “value” by pure volume. I think expecting this amount of content for $15 at this point just means that you can expect no content at all, because it won’t be commercially viable to keep all your dev teams spun up to work on it, along with patches.
On the one hand, happy to get the opportunity… on the other hand, this kind of just increases the testing overhead needed to finalise the preview version and ship the final version to more devices. Win some, lose some.
Well, I had seen them partner with Black Rifle Coffee at some point, which is a pretty pro-MAGA branded company. Their content doesn’t seem to lean that way though.

SEGA spent the most money ever… on a game that was years late to an old sub-genre, while mimicking games that had already failed like Lawbreakers. Great job.
Most of “his” genuinely good games seem to deliver despite him, not because of him. Beyond his ability to deceive enough investors/gamers to get funding for other people to pull something good from the fire he creates, what else does he do.
For me it was Dead Space 2 when I was 12-ish. For reference, at this point the most gruesome/gorey/violent media I was exposed to was the Halo 3 Flood levels and the original 2 Alien movies....
I remember having just the demo installed for the longest time and just playing that brief section of the game over and over. It was just so damn cinematic and awesome.
The game runs the same or better on the hardware I have after the 2.0 patch. There are just more options to use, and thus the recommended has increased.
Some things you can’t take back, especially when as CEO you don’t even try to take it back but just indicate that they might scale some of its extremes back. For now.
