After 120 hours, I finally got bored with Dragon’s Dogma 2.

So I’m picking back up Solasta: Crown of the Magister. I also dusted off my VR rig and I’m playing the Affected: The Manor, a horror/haunted house game.

It’ll be fun.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

That’s shitty, but thankfully, we have the emulation community.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I remember throwing my controller as a kid whenever one of those bubbles attached to Samus.

Great game.

!deleted7243 avatar

After 110 hours I’m still playing Dragon’s Dogma 2, but am starting to be ready to move on to something else.

I’ve barely explored the third major zone in the game. There is a metric ton of content for people who like exploring in games.

Definitely a good value for the money.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I mean, it’s legitimately a bright spot.

But with November of this year likely heralding the legitimacy of fascism in the US, it’s incumbent upon us to try enjoy the silly shit before that comes along.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

You speak as if it’s already decided.

I think it is. Trump won in 2016 because people were largely impoverished and Democrats didn’t do anything about it. The impoverishment is worse now.

BUT, that does make it more important to enjoy the silly shit. Absolutely.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Fair enough. Enjoy your awesome Neopet!

Still on Dragon’s Dogma 2. (at 94 hours of playtime)

I’m still finding new places around every corner. It’s got a ton of fun stuff to discover if you like open-world games.

!deleted7243 avatar

Dragon’s Dogma 2, getting close to 80 hours. I still feel like I’ve only scratched the surface because, now that I’m getting 60’ish level pawns to run in my party, I’m still finding a ton of secrets in areas I’ve already explored extensively. In the game, the pawns you summon can show you secrets about the world that their players have discovered. It’s a neat mechanic.

If you like exploring open worlds, it’s a pretty great game.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

That’s okay.

It’s definitely not for everyone. I like it because it’s fun to explore the world they’ve built, but it’ll be more fun when the launch bugs are worked out.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

This isn’t microtransactions as they are usually implemented.

You have access to all of the content in the game for the sticker price, and that’s all that matters to me.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

There isn’t a lack of information. They’ve been very public on what this is.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Very cool.

I had such a hard time beating Radahn. Deeply satisfying.

Dungeons of the Endless

Castlevania

Neverwinter Nights (Which I’ve been playing or DMing on for 23 years)

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

DotE is a tower defense roguelike with pixel graphics and a team of heroes you manage. It also has one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard.

Castlevania needs no description. It’s just one of the best games ever made.

Neverwinter Nights has stood the test of time for me because it has persistent game worlds, built by other players (basically mini, homemade MMO’s), that you can log in and play. I also use its DM client to run online adventures for other players myself.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Of course. The more the merrier. The only thing to be aware of is that it’s largely a good/neutral party, so if you’re playing evil you’ll have to do it well and be a little incognito.

Here’s the discord for our PW: discord.gg/kXuuKEme

We play on Saturdays at 8PM EST on Daggerford. Sessions generally last 2-3 hours.

On the Baldur’s Gate server DM’d games are on Thursdays and Sundays. (Other DM’s run those.)

Dragons Dogma 2

I’m 20 hours in and enjoying it immensely despite it’s flaws, and the character creator is so good I made Arya Stark my main pawn.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I’d love to see it. I adore open-world games.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

You disliking something does not make it inherently bad.

Let people enjoy things.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Jeanne D’Arc and the PSP’s Twisted Metal were damn good.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Oh yes. I have the gold Zelda limited edition 3DS XL in my collection.

My favorite games for the 3DS were Resident Evil Mercenaries, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Ultimate NES Remix.

Disney Dreamlight Valley on Switch

The Monsters Inc update came out last week, so I’m busy unlocking all the cool stuff from Monsters Inc.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I hit a wall with DD1.

I hope they’ve made the second a little less of a chore, because it really is a cool setting, and I loved that I could partner up with other players’ toons.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

If I want relaxation it’s Disney Dreamlight Valley.

FlashMobOfOne,

When the cameras reacted to the purring I was hooked.

Spent most of my time this week, as per the ushe, playing Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition and doing setup for the Saturday campaign I run every week using the game’s DM client.

Great fun.

If anyone out there is into D&D and has free time on Saturdays, the game is cheap and you’d be welcome to join us. The server name is ALFA Sea of Swords 034: Daggerford.

…steampowered.com/…/Neverwinter_Nights_Enhanced_E…

Also picked up Sands of Aura, which is an indie soulslike and I’m just starting on that today. The reviews speak to excellent level design, and I love a game I can explore.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Man, I put 80 hours into it in Act 1 last summer and haven’t picked it back up yet.

I’ll enjoy the rest when I feel like it, still GOTY for me even only playing a third of it.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Enshrouded looks cool. What’s your opinion on it?

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

It’s an incredible game.

Act 1 just felt like a game unto itself and I was satisfied for the moment.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

The pawn system was my favorite feature of the first game.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

There are some games that are so good I’ve been content to repurchase them on new devices, like Castlevania.

But I also have an extensive library of emulators on my PC, which is important too because many of these games can no longer be played otherwise.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I love the REmakes but am waiting for RE4 to drop below $20. I did, however, get a steam gift card for Christmas and picked up The Outlast Trials, and it’s good and terrifying.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Couldn’t care less. I’ll just call the character what I always have.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

A few hidden gems I’ve played:

Dungeons of the Endless: store.steampowered.com/…/Dungeon_of_the_ENDLESS/

Solasta Crown of the Magister: …steampowered.com/…/Solasta_Crown_of_the_Magister…

Tower of Time: store.steampowered.com/app/617480/Tower_of_Time/

Detroit: Become Human: store.steampowered.com/…/Detroit_Become_Human/

The Dark Pictures Anthology - Man of Medan: …steampowered.com/…/The_Dark_Pictures_Anthology_M…

I hope you like them all as much as I did.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

There’s plenty of combat. If you’ve played BG3 I imagine you’ll enjoy it.

The caveat is that it’s made by an indie studio, so the cutscenes aren’t AAA, but I think the game is amazing regardless, and that includes the expansion packs.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I think Dungeons of the Endless also has one of the best soundtracks in recent years. I like to have it on shuffle when I’m doing yoga.

FlashMobOfOne, (edited )
!deleted7243 avatar

I loved all of it, personally. Is there anything in particular you’re looking for that I can comment on, in terms of RPG’s?

My only two complaints with Solasta was that I felt the random encounters with traveling got annoyingly frequent and the cutscenes are definitely indie, but I enjoyed the game as a whole so much I stopped caring about either.

But I can confirm that the DLC’s have a ton of meat too.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I love Next Fest… but I’m really waiting for the Halloween sale on horror games.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Truly open-world Star Wars. Like a Breath of the Wild game except with multiple planets and all the Star Wars stuff.

We had something close to it with SW: Galaxies, but… RIP SW: Galaxies.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I actually have a 3E diorama of from the opening level hanging in my condo. I replay it once or twice a year. Still holds up.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

FEAR was so darn good.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

Dead Space still scares the hell out of me.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I loved Resident Evil but it was the third one that really got me, with the havoc in the streets and the scare where you realize Nemesis can literally chase you from room-to-room and/or show up literally anywhere at any time.

Not counting games that were unfun because of bugs, what’s the most unfun video game that you’ve played and what made it unfun? (kbin.cafe) angielski

Most of the video games I’ve played were pretty good. The only one I can think of that I didn’t like was MySims Kingdom for the Nintendo DS. Dropped that pretty quickly. It was a long while ago, but I’ll guess it was because there were too many fetch quests and annoying controls.

FlashMobOfOne,
!deleted7243 avatar

I’d say Dark Souls 2.

When you get to the area with the bazillion spitting statues that respawn when you do, it became very clear that Fromsoft was out of ideas for making the game both interesting AND challenging.
