To be fair it’s the exact same bypass as any other Steam game. Any steam emulator would work.

Did starfield not have denuvo drm? I thought most Bethesda games did.

harmonea,
@harmonea@kbin.social avatar

Bethesda the publisher does things differently than Bethesda the developer.

As a dev, they know their modding communities keep their games alive long, long past their expiration dates and will fuck with them as little as they possibly can - this takes them from games to household names to legends that everyone knows.

As a publisher pushing products that aren't intended to be modded, they drink the koolaid.

Qualanqui,

I disagree about the publishing side somewhat, every now and then the publishing team hits a home run. Like I’ve been playing Ghostwire: Tokyo recently which is published by Bethesda and it’s a pretty good game, and let’s not forget Prey which was an awesome game also published by Bethesda.

So tbey do get it right sometimes.

harmonea, (edited )
@harmonea@kbin.social avatar

I didn't say they don't make good games. I said they drink the koolaid.

Context matters, and in the context of this thread (whether or not Bethesda games often have Denuvo) that means the anti-piracy "DRM is neat" koolaid (vs them avoiding DRM for self-developed games so they can be modded extensively).

Lol it was this “lemmy.zip/comment/2283511” /\ Did starfield not have denuvo drm. I thought most Bethesda games did. ", I tried to delete it but obviously not lol.

wiki.torrentleech.org/…/everything_about_invites

Invites are for giving to people you know and trust. Don’t invite random people.

🤔

(I’m not saying it’s good or bad. And I assume you made a conscious decision on it.)

CheekyYoghurts,

thanks for ruining the party 😕

yes, I’m aware. As I said I don’t ‘know and trust’ anyone IRL who would use this, so I’m offering them to people in the community who will hopefully use them responsibly. I’ll coach any of those chosen if they’re unsure and of course point them in the direction of the (very comprehensive) wiki.

ninjan,

Yeah just be careful, Torrentleech has been know to ban the guy inviting people who fail to follow the rules. So maybe do a rule pop quiz or something? Or ask how they plan to build ratio since that isn’t exactly super easy on TL.

CheekyYoghurts,

Don’t know what you’re talking about regarding ratio… TL have by far the most generous freeleech out there. Just grab lots of freeleech and after 10 days your ratio will be high. It’s comical how easy it is to get high ratio on that site.

ninjan,

Sure if you use a seedbox or have a port forward VPN and a good connection. If you have a free VPN without port forward or just a slow connection then you won’t be able to seed much due to everyone finishing their downloads super fast. Then building ratio can be really hard. Either way if you go in there just downloading the movies / games etc you want and leave them on to seed you won’t, generally reach even 0.8 ratio. You need a strategy be that build ratio for days / weeks using the freeleech stuff or set up rss download of torrents for popular shows such that you get in on the seeding action early etc.

Edit: I’ve been a member for 14 years, I’ve seen countless people fail to maintain a good ratio despite trying.

Appoxo,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Sounds like it’s not the issue of the tracker at all. Just invest in a small seedbox either self hosted or get a proper non-free vpn. Not exactly rocket science…

ninjan,

And I agree, I have multiple TB both ways but if he gives away invites to whomever don’t expect them to have seedboxes / a good torrent VPN etc without asking. It’s hard if you’re the person who only downloads the movies they want to watch and haven’t ever thought about seeding more than leaving the torrent on for a few days. That “works” on RARBG style sites but of course doesn’t work on a tracker like TL which bans permanently and do not give a fuck about your reasons.

Appoxo, (edited )
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Huh? It cant be easier. With just a 2TB drive and 2 years I collected 8TB in upload on this tracker alone.
This is one of the easiest if you can seed 24/7

ninjan,

And I’m saying that’s a big if.

Imprint9816,

Pretty much all their big files are free leech. Start with a few popular to build ratio.

Pulp,

One of the easiest to gain ratio on

whats torrentleech got over any other number of open websites?

Appoxo,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Better stuff than some public sites and software that can be more trustworthy than 1337x.

Mandy,

but how would i verify that? how would i know, that this site can be trusted more?

Appoxo,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Research and believing in the good of some users.

Usually the comments on TL are dead for stuff like movies and TV. But for software they are quite active in comparison.

Mandy,

believing in the good of users? in the torrent/cracking scene? yeah idk about that one chief

Appoxo,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

*In the good to not infect you with malware because they actually want to hurt the big corpo.

This sounds better.

Mandy,

thats a little better lol

Pulp,

Not everyone can upload

Pulp,

Significantly faster downloads and better retention compared to public

OfficerBribe, w RARBG's Demise Gave These Torrent Sites a Huge Boost in Traffic * TorrentFreak

Fiorenzo,

qBittorrent

You think that something similar is possible with Transmission?

Caligvla,
@Caligvla@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Last I checked Transmission doesn’t have a built-in search. You could use Jackett or Prowlarr with it to get a similar experience.

monstoor,

For my needs, I use qBittorrent with jackett. Both excellent tools!
