Keep in mind, since I haven’t watched the video, I can’t confirm the accuracy. For example, the video description says the update releases September 12th, but Bard thinks its scheduled for today, September 9th - so take it with a grain of salt.
Generally, I’m not into the “price per hour” reductionism… I’d rather a game was a short, remarkable (bonus: replayable) experience – 10-20 unless a longer game truly is that long without filler. Can’t put a price on having fun 100% of the time!
Sonic 3 and Knuckles takes like 3 hours for an average person to beat.
Which stinks for broke boys like me but is understandable…esp since we can’t get rid of capitalistic greed in so many other industries where it’d help to be able to afford shiz like this again…
The top comment is a meme, but the free trial indeed is not time limited. It’s kind of like a “free to play” version of the game.
Most of the limitations are purely social - can’t send friend requests, party invites, or trades and similar. (There’s a full list somewhere) But, you’re still on the same servers, you can still use matchmaking, party finder, and paid accounts can send friend request and party invite to you.
What is there is going to be basically 100% of the story, side quests, and raids up to the level limit. And it will all be completable through the various matchmaking systems or NPC parties (where applicable).
It’s just a mild bit harder than the regular game (since, as an MMO, it is a social game) - and much of the issues you can “solve” if you know someone that has a paid copy, or make friends in game. For the party invite specifically, I know I’ve seen requests go by occasionally for adding two free trials to a party - which the paid account can make and doesn’t have to stay. In my free company (guild) there’s a few random free trial players we’ve “adopted” and have in the chat linkshell, but who can’t accept invite fully.

Micro Mages is great. I haven't played it on an original SNES but I have it loaded on my modded Wii outputting a 240p signal to a Sony trinitron. It looks and plays great.
Ray tracing sounds like a stretch, but with frame generation nothing seams to be impossible anymore. Though I’d rather see them target consistent 60fps now.
Yeah, it runs very nicely on ultra on a variety of hardware. It’s been optimized and has even improved since release.
I am hoping they improved the controller interface, though. I use that even though I play the PC version, and it was somewhat broken as of a couple weeks ago.
Ridiculous statement. I’ve got an rx 7900xtx and a ryzen 7 7700x with 64 gigs of ram @5600mhz and the fucking game barely ever hits 144fps. Usually it’s sitting around 100-110 fps which is playable for sure, but literally every other game I’ve played on it has had no problem staying nailed at 144fps. This is at low-medium settings BTW (for starfield).
You might be able to run it ok. My 1660 basic manages 20-30fps on medium-high and 30+ on mostly low settings. The game still desperately needs some optimization, that’s for sure.
This actually does make me want to play the game some more. I had beat it once and started a new game+, but then got sick of doing it again. I might actually try it again soon now.
Do you have to go through the long opening sequence content again in NG+? Like all the way through to getting Sam Coe? I do wish they would kinda just plop you out in the world faster like New Vegas
