Sexlexia

simple, w Mina the Hollower Preview - A New Look At The Promising Love Letter To The Game Boy Era - Game Informer

I can’t wait for this game. Shovel Knight (and all its expansions) might be the best modern retro game I’ve played. Mina the Hollower looks like it hits in all the right spots as well.

I think I have this same bug [humps comment button]

Aaaw, but I liked getting jumped by everybody immediately. Made those charisma points feel earned.

Yeah it felt like at that moment everyone was corrupted by Slaanesh. Was awkward just tryna forward my companion quests.

The art resembles Moebius. It looks great.

TheTick, w DF Weekly: Is FSR 3 frame generation viable for console games?

If implemented this should hopefully, at the very least be a way to make up for the shortcomings of the series s. I’ll gladly take improved frame rates and timings on my Series X though. At the 12’ I play away from my 55" TV, any drops in quality will likely be unnoticeable. FSRR and the like are some fantastic technologies, and they keep getting better and more exciting.

That makes a lot of sense.

Duchess, w Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's DLC leakers think they've discovered two new Pokémon
!deleted4788 avatar

i really hope the dlc fixes some of the issues with performance etc. this was the first pokemon game i really didn’t enjoy so i’m very on the fence about spending any more money on it.

QuarterlySushi,
@QuarterlySushi@kbin.social avatar

People have been saying this since the first updates rolled out days after launch. Performance is never going to improve, at this point.

Duchess,
!deleted4788 avatar

Yeah, that’s fair. I just wish there wasn’t such pressure on the devs to push out new products when they’re clearly not ready

AstralPath, w EA’s first WRC game will be out this November, it’s claimed

I’m curious to see how badly the 20 year old RBR dunks on this new game. Don’t get me wrong, I’m dying for any studio to put RBR to rest at this point but I just don’t see it happening with EA.

NuPNuA,

Isn’t essentially just going to be an extension of Codemasters existing rally games? With EA as the publisher now?

AstralPath,

I’m sure Codemasters is still the team working on it but their games are still sorely lacking in the physics department. I understand the need for the game to be playable on a controller for mass appeal, but we really do need them to refine the engine to cater to wheel users. The cars have way too much grip. I don’t even mention how atrocious the tarmac physics are.

UrPartnerInCrime, w The Tragic Downfall of Battlefield 2042
@UrPartnerInCrime@sh.itjust.works avatar

Say what you want about it, and it’s definitely not the best battlefield game by far, but it’s still battlefield and I still have fun with it.

secret301,

I wish. I love battlefield and I wanted to like it so bad but I just couldn’t.

UrPartnerInCrime,
@UrPartnerInCrime@sh.itjust.works avatar

Honestly, what makes it so bad it’s unplayable?

secret301,

For me it feels like it has less destruction than 4 and the operators are just something I thought I’d like but it feels off in battlefield. None of the maps were that good either and it always felt too spread out or too many flanks to get shot from. And I’m a huge planetside 2 player so I’m used to 500+ player battles (I miss those days) and it felt everytime I died it was from somewhere that made 0 sense and was frustrating

UrPartnerInCrime,
@UrPartnerInCrime@sh.itjust.works avatar

I like being an engineer while repairing a helo and shooting unlimited controllable rockets with Liz so I like it.

freeman,

There’s definately less destruction on the maps. The super hero thing negates classes entirely. The fact that you can’t (or could t at launch) run squads or have comms in the game was crazy.

Basically all the mechanics that reinforced any semblance of team play were removed.

Potatos_are_not_friends, w The Tragic Downfall of Battlefield 2042

“tragic” downfall?

Aw poor triple-A billion dollar EA studios making a shitty cash grab and it didn’t allow their owner to buy a fifth yacht.

Somebody please go buy some microtransactions to prop these people up

JonEFive,

As someone who usually loves the Battlefield games, I get where you’re coming from. But for us, it’s disappointing that the current version of a game we enjoy is so disappointing. Tragic perhaps in terms of the game itself and its fans. The greedy suits at the top can f right off though.

priapus,

Battlefield failing leads to alternatives succeeding. Battlebit is way better than any modern Battlefield will be.

Callendor, w Starfield DLSS 3 FG Mod by PureDark Has Been cracked

Is dlss 3 only for the rtx 4xxx series? The dlss 2 mod made no difference to my rtx 3080.

exscape,
@exscape@kbin.social avatar

Yes, DLSS Frame Generation (which is a component of DLSS 3, not the entire thing) is only for the 4000 series.

Monomate, w Japanese PC gaming saw another year of explosive growth

I expect the growing availability of portable PC gaming systems to further boost this growth. It’s known the japanese public is very biased towards portable gaming devices, which is why the Nintendo Switch dominates by market share.

I’ve started seeing the ROG Ally and, in bigger stores both it and the Steam Deck, in electronic stores over here recently.

HidingCat,

Think Valve only recently partnered with a distributor for East Asia, so the Steam Decks are slowly showing up in Japan and South Korea. Asus of course has a good distribution network, so generally where they're strong you'll see Allys. I still can't get a Steam Deck in a store, but can get an Ally (and probably the Legion Go).

Aurenkin,

Had my steam deck in Taiwan for quite a while but I don’t know if it’s on store shelves here.

stopthatgirl7,
!deleted7120 avatar

I’ve seen them in Edion, an electronics chain, in Japan, and they seem to have a partnership of some kind with them - the first time you could do a hands-on anywhere in Japan was at an Edion in Osaka, and that’s where I’ve seen the physically on sale recently (as in, only in the last month or two). The only person I know with one ordered it online.

HidingCat,

Yea, think Komodo is working with Edion for in-store sales. Saw an announcement somewhere when I was reading about Steam Deck sales in Asia (which sadly, just three countries in East Asia).
