Isoprenoid, w This is what I keep in my (right front pocket) leather organizer

10lbs of fishing line, all in that pocket? That’s impressive 😉

Curious_Canid, w Mini prybar uses
@Curious_Canid@lemmy.ca avatar

I have found the usual small prybars useful, but I have since discovered variants like this: https://lemmy.ca/pictrs/image/30231769-6186-49b3-8bb6-1c12a1576306.jpeg

It provides a much better grip and the curve give it a lot more leverage. I’ve been surprised at how much more effective it is than straight bars of a similar size. (This one was made by Teale Designs on Etsy.)

BrikoX, w My EDC currently. 3D printed pocket organizer and wallet that I made myself.

Is cat part of the package?

deadsenator,

Just the tail. It’s his lucky cattail.

I’d recognize Cubone anywhere, but I have no idea what these items are and I’ve never read or heard any of the words you used in this post.

SaintWacko, w Looking for a knife that flips open like a Milwaukee Fastback for under $100

You might also look at knives with an Axis-lock type system. It’s not identical, but rather than a button press you slide a stud with your finger, so it has the same easy one-handed opening and closing. That used to be limited to Benchmade, but it’s now available pretty much everywhere. I really love my Kershaw Iridium: kershaw.kaiusa.com/iridium.html

constantokra, w Looking for a knife that flips open like a Milwaukee Fastback for under $100

www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/…/48-22-1990Milwaukee makes one, in several sizes and blade shapes even.

I bought one to cut down on waste with disposable blades and it works great for tearing up packaging and boxes. The steel is supposedly pretty soft, but it’s also around 20 bucks depending on size and blade shape.

The non assisted opening mechanism is probably my least favorite thing about the knife, if I’m honest, but it’s not horrible or anything.

strawberry,

oh haha so far that's my favorite part. as much as I love milwaukee I want something fancier

somewhiteguy, w Mini prybar uses

Being able to pull up or peel something without peeling back your thumb/finger nail is kinda nice. I don’t carry a specific pry-bar, but some things I carry have a pry-bar-esque utility that is super handy.

NoUsernameAvailable, w My EDC as a regular office droid

Does the Ridge key case have keys that rotate out when you’re moving around a lot? My OrbitKey sometimes have the keys slide open. I also don’t want to over tighten.

Diplomjodler,

It had a little spring that holds the keys in place. Everything stays where it’s supposed to be and I didn’t even have to re-tighten it yet.

BaldManGoomba, w Backpack recommendations?

Big fan of the linus tech backpack. I use it daily

illectrility, w (Request) Looking for a CCW backpack without a lot of Velcro

Peak Design Everyday Backpack? I have the 20L V2, it’s great

@illectrility @Vej Solid backpack, but not a CCW backpack in any capacity

illectrility,

True and also just saw the no Velcro request. The inside of the backpack is all Velcro for the divisors

pineapplelover, w Linux enthused Machinist EDC

I was looking at the nixon regulus but apparently it’s made in China. I wanted to find a nice minimal digital watch but made fair labor.

finn1sher,
@finn1sher@mstdn.ca avatar

@pineapplelover @Steamymoomilk These days, stuff made in China runs the gamut from sweatshop to well paid labour and from crappy clones to very premium manufacturing.
If a company talks about their work environment and prides themselves on it, the labour might be fair. I wouldn't trust this messaging from someone like Nike though.

I mostly avoid China for political reasons

pineapplelover,

Some of the casio gshocks are made in Japan. There are also some gshocks made in Philippines but those may also be sweatshops

nikscha, w Linux enthused Machinist EDC

You might wanna get a “cable card”. It would replace all of the usb stuff. a.co/d/drH95ukCan highly recommend, I always have it in my backpack

ZebraGoose, w Today's (UK) EDC

What compass is that?

foofiepie,

It was from a Kickstarter, called Path-22.

Mango, w Sunday Carry #59

Kinda looks like an Ensso bolt.

@etuomaala For the record, if you posted multiple images, they're not visible to me on Mastodon. When I've done the opposite, posting to Lemmy with a Mastodon account, multiple photos aren't visible to the lemmy users either.

etuomaala,

Oh, neat, Mastodon! I didn’t know for sure whether this was reaching Mastodon. I only posted the one image. I didn’t know I could post multiple images. Now, I know not to try, for compatibility reasons.
